Tuesday - Action and great ideas
Great ideas originate in the muscles.
Thomas A. Edison
If we can move a little, maybe some great ideas will appear, and lead to great action.
Maybe moving will lead to helpful action. Its an interesting proposal.

Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
The other day I happened to see a red capped robin feeding at the red bottle brush. Least - I think that is what it was. The book says they eat insects so maybe it likes insects with a sweet tooth. Certainly it had a double dose of red so I could not find anything else that would match it.

(a thought about round robin Monday)
Monday - Yoga. I have just been going to kneeling instead of downward dog, though stretch out legs in other ways.
Mtg in the evening.
Tuesday - Orthopedic Surgeon - MRI is in my future. I finally was willing to exactly do the PT exercises. Now I just need to do them all 3 times daily. at about 40 min a set that will will take a larger commitment than I've been making.
Neighbour talked to me about falling down fence. I went over later to ask about a chain wire fence - not his choice. Maybe if the price is right he will consider it. Anyway - I got his thoughts on what to get a quote or 2 for. Maybe if it is dramatically less he will consider it. My preference is not for the metal colourbond fence that is his favorite. Hardwood is the other possibility. I'm yet to see the quotes he has. Total was $20 000 - with him doing the work. I'm not sure how much of that is my part. he sort of guessed $6000 or our fence. Gosh.
This afternoon was bin day. Pulled some more weed vine from above fence to fill the bin. Mostly One armed but I did get my left hand involved twirling the lengths of it into the bin.
Just walked 2k after that.

Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
Good morning. Incredibly happy to be home.
Watched a cruise ship leave last night, and heard another arrive this morning (it was really foggy when she berthed so I couldn't see her.) It is sunny and I have a lovely view of the harbour. Not sure if we'll ride the ferry this morning or Thursday or Friday. I have 4 tickets, enough for 1 round trip for both of us, left over from our last trip here. In our safe at home, I have a collection of transit tickets and passes from around the world, with notes of how much money is left on each of them if they are cards. When I head out on the next trip, I go through them and pull the ones I might use.
We move to Whitepoint today. I'm all packed except for my computer.
Forgot to tell you about our car. We rented an SUV because it was only $5 per day more than a small car and about $20 less than a mid-size. Dh didn't want to because of gas mileage but I checked and the Ford Escape gets almost as good a mileage as the mid-size they were offering.
Turns out the mileage hasn't been great yet, but the comfort level is wonderful, plus it has almost all the bells & whistles, including an opening sunroof (our car's moonroof doesn't open) and straight plug in for my computer so I don't have to worry about running out of power if I'm working while we are driving. Our phones are synched to it as well, so we can make hands-free calls if necessary.
There is no GPS and our 100.9 year old map (my uncle) got confused on the way to the beach, so we got lost yesterday until I pulled out my computer which has Streets & Trips on it. Before we visited my cousin last night we made sure we had a map on dh's phone. For most driving around here, we know our way just fine (and we would have made it to the beach if we had gone the way I wanted but my uncle corrected me and since he's lived here for 60+ years I gave in to his route, which would have been fine except road construction detoured us.
Anyway the car is comfortable and fun to be in and more than enough room for our bags and three people (something that wouldn't be true for a small car.)
Very happy and excited to be heading to ocean front today. Love the busy harbour but love the breakers on the shore more.

Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
What a lovely bird, Lynlee! I very much enjoyed the variety of birds when we were in Australia. There were so many brightly colored ones - and large ones. There weren't many songbirds in Adelaide, though. At least from our experiences in our backyard and the city in general, it seemed we were inundated with cockatoos, parrots of various sorts, magpies, wattlebirds, some sort of long-beaked black bird, maybe a grackle? And then there were the water birds at the beaches. We were fortunate to hear kookaburras at a friend's house once. 40 min. 3x/day is a lot of time!! Dh has started seeing a PT for his pain in his leg. It turns out it is not muscle pain but an enflamed nerve caused by pressure on longer runs from muscles that were not properly stretched. He now has to do stretches for 20 min. 3x/day. That is a sizeable chunk of his day, but he wants to get better -- and thinks he is getting better!
I am up, s2s-ed, have helped ds clean up a doggy mess in his bedroom.
We think it is Pepper but no one knows how on earth that happened. I'm drinking mug of tea #2. Ds is up. I'm off to finish the a.m. routine and then work with him.
Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself, Kathryn! Have fun at the ocean today!!
It rained last night, so that will be good for weeding later.

Helia, I hope DH's pt works well.
Lynlee, that's such a pretty little bird. Nothing like our regular robins around here.
OKay, I was surprised to read you'd had the flu. I've been down with the exact same symptoms also. Because I feel so peaked, I didn't recognize I was actually "sick" when symptoms appeared. I'm distressed I was at church when this started, though I am always very very careful to wash hands, etc., when dealing with kitchen stuff. Symptoms have been off and on with Monday being the worst. I finally took something that stopped the flow.... and we noticed that I got big baggy circles under my eyes. I had a "sick" sleep part of the afternoon yesterday, but last evening and today I think all has passed thank goodness!
In attempting to print out a form I noticed a backlog of old stuff on my computer and spent a bit of time clearing that out. Last eve. I went through a book I have and I have a health plan. Now, if I can only follow it! Funny where I found the motivation this time....

Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
Good morning, villagers ~
We're still under heat advisory. Predicted temp upper 90s with high humiditiy will push the index well over 100. I'm keeping activity level at "mosey."
Decided not to even try to go sew with friends today. I don't think the location's a/c will be able to keep up with the heat, especially with sewing machines and at least 1 iron running. Last time I had to carry all my stuff almost a block to get to the building. It's a fun activity but not worth risking heat exhaustion.
I do need to run some errands, though. My plan is to mosey around the cards until closer to lunch time, make a few quick stops on the way to The Big City, then go somewhere that I know will have a/c and have a leisurely lunch with the newspaper to get nice and cool. After that I'll wander around Aldi to restock the pantry, and look for something to make a good salad for supper.
Before then, while waiting for my good jeans to finish in the dryer, I'll putter around a few more chores and drink an iced coffee.
Cuop -- my goodness, the village is full of adventures this week!

Home from running around. Had to take my daughter to renew her passport, she is going to England at winter break to visit family.
Today I am giving house a once over and then plan on working on my "new" declutter project
I set up a notebook in one note & put it on a skydrive so I can share it with my mom and kids and I am going through my cookbook collection and scanning in the recipes I regularly use and culling the cookbooks that I only use one or two recipes out of. It is handy because the cookbooks and printer are down in the basement next to the laundry so I can do laundry while doing this.

Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
It just occurred to me that I've recorded the whole season of Ice Road Truckers and have not watched any of them. That sounds like a good activity for tonight.
Watching Ice Road Truckers when we're in the middle of a heat wave ... using the same theory I do during the coldest part of every winter when I reread a favorite book that is set during a blazing hot summer.
Made a DPC but she was in a meeting so I have to hang around until she calls back.
~~~
Oops, did not click send and this sat long enough for her to call me back to tell me that she'll send me an Email.
Not quite ready to go out yet. I may try to take a quick nap in front of a fan before I s2s.
Re: Tuesday - Action and great ideas
Going to try to post while I CAN!! Not sure if it'll work or not. Can't figure out why I'm suddenly having such a hard time with our site.
Just finally got an appointment made (in my only available time slot for a couple of weeks!) for Thursday morning. Dh sees his cardiologist Thursday afternoon. Need to find out if DGS8's parents can meet us there to pick him up. It will probably be fairly late by the time we get back home.
I slept so very badly last night -or maybe that's I DIDN'T sleep! Dragging today. Taking dgs8 to see "Planes" in an hour. Keep asking if he's sure he wants to go -he saw it with friends last night. But he's adamant he wants to see it again. Okayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Arrrrrggghhhh!! Won’t let me submit. I’ve tried setting my computer to an earlier ‘restore’ point and it won’t even let me do that. Trying to figure out if I need a new router –except dh isn’t having trouble on his Kindle and dgs8 on Netflix. Hmmmm….
