MONDAY MARVEL

Post by DeeClutter »

Feels like Fall here for sure! Though the sky is clear.

Really didn't want to start a thread but need to get ready to take dh to cardiac rehab. Then he has an appointment with his cardiologist at 1. Need to do a quick vent, hoping to feel better. Just feel like I can't deal with one more thing today.

Picked up our mail yesterday & there was a letter hand addressed to me from our health insurance company!! At our post office box in the nearby town. Our address for health insurance is right here at the campground. Letter states I will be dropped because they have been informed that my address has changed to 'out of the area'. I could understand if the address was to our dd's in FL -where we stay for the winter. How they had our post office box is beyond me and this IS my permanent address. Yet another battle with insurance.
'
Then last night I could not get my new laptop to shut off -it was shut down, but the lights & fan just kept going. Even called dd a little after 9. Been afraid to turn it on this morning. Did finally turn off when I slid something on the back. :?
Need to rush and get myself ready to go. BBL
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Very chilly here, too, Dee. But much brighter than yesterday. The rest of the week is supposed to have full sunshine so the sheets will make it onto the line, probably tomorrow.

I'm up but not s2s. I'm having my tea and chocolate.

I've had one offer for the rims, which I've accepted. Let's see if I actually sell them (I'm learning that offers don't always translate into sales.) Will get the three snow tires up for sale this morning.

Choir practice is this afternoon. Since it isn't raining, after choir I'll pull in my outdoor decorations.

I have my to-do list for last week to chip away at.

Hope you all have a great first day of autumn (spring for Lynlee!)

((Dee))

You need to call those folks - preferably whoever seems to have handwritten anything. You need to say, "I'm sitting here in my home, in (town name), and reading your letter, which says I don't live here... ...

What good training. Dee's health insurance company reminds me of the 2 teenaged boys who served as cashier and bagger yesterday when we picked up a few groceries. The package of lightbulbs fell to the floor, but as they agreed, thank goodness it wasn't anything breakable.

We enjoyed church yesterday, especially the charming duet between our minister and his daughter. I don't believe he's ever sung in a morning service before. I think he was actually a little nervous and didn't know how well he really had done. Later he said he was "glad to be back in the pulpit", which he meant as a joke, but no one got it. We were all looking at each other, wondering if he'd had a vacation we'd missed.

Part of the sermon was on what shame means to us, what shamelessness means, and, "what do we do when it is our own heroes who become shameless". And twice I leaned over to dd and whispered "mileycyrus". She frowned. "Shhh. He wouldn't be talking about that." Sure enough, who did he mention by name. Told her so. I ought to know. I'm bad enough at decluttering that MY little girl is one who still had old gifts of Disney fan memorabilia in her closet when the shameless hit the fan.

Chilly here too!!

((Dee)) I hope there is good news today.

I've been up for a while, had bfast, taken care of some emails. Have made a menu plan for this week, very easy since we're going to start Tuesday date nights again and dh is going to make his Indian curry Thursday night. Dh is out tonight so the girls and I will just eat up some leftovers. :) I will just need to cook Wed. night. Fridays, we go out - though maybe this week we'll eat in. There are a lot of TJ tamales in our freezer which maybe we should use up.

Out of town friends planning to stop by late yesterday afternoon couldn't make it after all, which was really fine. It was nice to have a more quiet Sunday afternoon.

Brain dump: This week is a pretty busy one for me with a haircut tomorrow (out of town so it will take up about 2.5 hours of my day), orientation to volunteer literacy group Tuesday evening, coffee with a dfriend Wed. a.m., getting together with dfriend B Wed. afternoon, deacon training Wed. evening (I have hw to do also), moms group brunch Thursday morning. Then, Thursday dinner including S's parents - here for the arrival of the baby which is due any day now - will be an additional party of 6, if all come. Then, there is the regular Friday schedule - WW in the a.m. and tutoring in the late afternoon. I also may go pull reserved band concert uniforms Th/F this week -- but I need tags from the other band uniform parent before I can do that. It needs to be done before Oct. 3, when the orchestra fittings start. I also need to get some paperwork filled out so GG can go on a trip with the organization in a couple weeks. Saturday, is a YFU orientation all day for GG, 9:45 - 1:30 for me. Dh does not have the patience/personality to attend that sort of meeting, esp. not with his current level of busyness.

I haven't heard from ds yet how the hackathon was. S saw him at a meeting yesterday and said he looked really tired - but he paid attention and participated in the meeting.

Today:
a.m. routine
groc. store
exercise
laundry
other things still to be determined

Off to finish the am routine.

Post camping CI:
One of the best things about camping is the way I appreciate things in life like having counters and an indoor sink with hot and cold running water. They had a 30 min. film of the history of Lewis and Clark and how the area was settled and different than the last one we saw before and learned some new info. At the visitors
center The break from the news was good too. I had some time to read and start a book.

Today I have the groc. store run to do.
Last load of laundry is in the dryer now.
Bed is made .
I need to start the dishwasher.
Hens have been fed and let out.
Deviled eggs were a hit at the bday party.

Back home from getting Israeli educator to programming for today - the schedule I rec'd last week had the wrong info for this morning so had to go to JCC after going somewhere else first. It is a beautiful morning here so it was a nice drive and nice to be out. I debated about going with the group this morning to http://www.whitwellmiddleschool.org/?Pa ... bc&n=69259 I've never been there, although dh and kids have been, but I decided I'd prefer a quiet day after all the running around yesterday.

Top 4 things to accomplish today -
• On schedule as much as possible
• Serve 3 healthy meals - Track food
• Focus working on cellar/out buildings
• Take jeep car, extra charger and 3 large black trash bags to Goodwill

TA-DA's -
9:38 AM
AAAAANNNNNDDDDD life returns to normal.

• LO to school - played basketball with him until time to go inside. Chatted with several parents & teachers while walking him to his classroom
• Walked one round @ the park on my way back home. I'm getting faster - I beat previous record by 1 minute 43 seconds!
• Started working on MPB books. Processed daily gross from the last 3 days. It matched to the penny! Txt'd S and thank them for doing such an awesome job and giving us a break.
• Phone ringing - planning C's funeral meal tomorrow. Discussed food plan for it and $$ (DH has church checkbook) to purchase supplies. L will order meat and DH will pick it up in the morning and deliver it to the church an hour before serving family.

It's chilly outdoors here, too. It's 56.7* on our covered porch. Rain's expected 60% today. Yesterday I heard T-storms were expected, but no word of them was forecast today. Guess they changed it.

Dee, I, too, would phone the insurance company. Sometimes a voice to the letter or from you to them, is all it takes. It sounds like they're a bit picky with sending that last letter.

I hope to crochet on the Christmas afghan, to work on Chicken Soup for the Soul items and study the Blue Mountain Arts poems.

I don't know if I've got enough dirty clothes to run a load or not. :?: Haven't gotten that far.

I wrote Happy Autumn letters out this weekend, to go out today. :D

Have a wonderful Monday Marvel day, Everybody! :D

Done:
x a.m. routine
x lunch
x emails concerning: (1) advertising moms group childcare helper positions, (2) question as to how to pay them (to the church accountant), (3) check in with the craft coordinator, (4) dd17 bday gift ideas to dmom
x browsed and ordered an audiobook for dmom's bday; I don't think it will arrive in time, but I have a book here to wrap and send as well. It will be a 2 part gift.
x tracked food
x groc. list made
x puppy let in and then out of the house about 10X

I'm off to the groc. store now.
