WARBLING WEDNESDAY

Seems most of our morning 'warblers' have flown the nest, so to speak. I was used to enjoying the sounds of all the singing in the morning & just realized it's not there any longer. So, guess we'll have to form our own.

Dh and I are off to cardiac rehab soon. He was really tired last night and I was not happy with him working so hard.

Spent the last hour looking up info for dh to winterize a motorhome. Try as he might yesterday, he could not find the water heater. Hopefully this print out will solve everything for him.

Better get my shoes & coat on. Dh will be in and I won't be ready.

I just sent a note to our health care provider yesterday, wondering why we hadn't heard about this year's choices. Dh just brought yesterday's mail with a post card saying it will arrive soon. Enrollment is Oct 28-Nov 8. Hoping it comes soon as there was someone here who was going to help me decipher the info. I'm sure we're probably going to change (hating to do that) as I've heard via TV that our plan is going up 44% for dh and 90% for me. And the deductibles and co-pays will be going up as well. Affordable? Right. But I guess we're not alone. Just glad it wasn't this year as we (and insurance) have already paid out a LOT!

The G eek S quad called last night and said my computer is all fixed. (I hope, I hope). Plan to ask them about getting to this site. Would be nice to have info for Elizabeth and myself. We'll probably pick it up after dh's rehab.

I listened to myself "Warble" in church Sunday and realized I need more consistent practice singing! Better get back to singing while I wash the dishes!

lucylee, I've never known the phone at DMV to do anything but ring and ring. Discouraging but true. Can you go online to learn anything? I dread the chore of taking all the paperwork there and changing my ddad's truck into my name. Have been told to go online and find out everything I will need to bring along.

I'm awake. I think I had a pretty good night. Woke up at 5:15 but went back to dozing/sleep and then snuggled with dh when he woke up and went completely back to sleep again. Got up at 9.

I'm still not s2s.

Ds had written two updates bringing his words up to Monday morning (the pictures are up to this afternoon) so I read those and went through the surfing shots from today (!) (it is hard to think he's 14 hours ahead of me) and think I've spotted him in two of the afternoon shots posted by the surfing camp. He's marked the morning shots he was in (there's about 100 each lesson so everyone gets in at least one shot.)

He has some sort of auto-loader for photos so his photos load up onto the internet while he's sleeping. That means his photos get up days before the corresponding written diary (which he has to write and is often just too exhausted to do so). So today I got some explanations to photos he posted on the weekend.

His blog post also mentions that he and another girl stayed behind and were part of a promotional video being shot for Ultimate Oz so I'm excited that he's so enthusiastic and outgoing they asked him to be involved. At his age I was a wall flower, I hadn't yet learned how to be outgoing. He is truly my son (he is going to need some down time soon from all this back-to-back socializing) but he has learned to push himself as well. In his blog posts there are days when he just has a quiet dinner with a few friends, arranged a picnic in the park or just hung out and was quiet, so it looks like he's managing get some quiet time as well as frantic fun. On the pub crawl he gave away his 'free drinks' tickets at a couple of the places because he didn't want to get overly drunk. I'm pleased he has the confidence to go out 'drinking' and only just socialize but not feel he has to drink as well.

My goals for today are to start in on a long list of to-dos I wrote up for the first week ds was gone. I did 4 items off the list. I'm also going to get the kitchen floor scrubbed. It is far too sticky. If I have the energy, I'll go shopping for a vacuum this afternoon.

Last night I looked for the rest of the fake pumpkins in the garage and I can't find them. GRrrrrrr! Dh has moved stuff around so much I've lost track of where they could have ended up, so today I hope to do some digging out there. I have WW weigh in at 5:30 and a temple event (which I may skip) at seven p.m.

Managed to do some porch decorating last night. Orange pillows on rocking chairs and black "mice" checking out the table between. Covered pillows on other side with draped orange or fall green fabric, and wrapped pots of mums in burlap to cover the nursery pot. Would like to find the rest of those pumpkins, tho.

Again, I am just now getting moving....

I will be listening to warblers and our chickens while I do some touch upon the coop painting project interior this week.

The only morning w-out kids here.

I now have more customers than eggs. Hens are all fine yea!

Yesterday I was able to replace a foot stool found one at the thrift shop it had the wrong color cushion but had a spare one we had saved so I swapped it. The coveralls shrunk bummer! But I got it to make a scare crow to scare off the hawks.

I slept well and got an extra half hr. Yea!

Good morning everyone! I got in early today because DD11 spent the night and I had to get her to school. We go there in time for her to have swing time. As predicted, she did not want to go out, but stay in with the new kitten. She has named him Panther, so he is no longer nameless! She agreed to go to the pumpkin patch on Sunday. She remembered to bring the dolls we need to measure for the pattern generating software, but she was watching a video and didn't want to do it. She will bring them back Saturday. The good news is that she wants to sew the clothes herself. I drained the swamp cooler while she was there. YEAH! Now, I will let it dry out for a few days, then put the cover on and I am DONE with roof work until spring. That, and getting the trash out was all I managed to get done.

Panther sat in my lap for about an hour while I read a book (after DD was in bed). Then, he slept on my bed with a loud purr. I don't think he counts as feral at all anymore, though I will tell potential adopters his origins.

Working to TOTH on rest of a.m. routine....need to find the butt glue solvent today.

Talked to dd and will meet her across town this evening - she is coming with a friend's mom.

Elizabeth, I wish I had taught dd to sew - she and I never had enough patience to do it together. I blamed her ADD at the time but think maybe I should have tried harder. I do think that sewing as a skill helps develop visual perception - how stuff looks when rotated, how things fit together - the stuff that comes up on a lot of testing.
