Re: Thursday Trick or Treat
Today I am wearing (virtually) a beautiful princess gown. One that makes me smile as I swish and swipe through my day.
I went to sleep early last night and feel refreshed this morning. Hopefully whatever bug/virus LO and I had is gone.
Next up -
** Wake LO, snuggle then monitor his AM routine
** Prep/serve breakfast (smoothies)
** Clean kitchen then walk LO to bus pickup

I'm wearing a Wonder Woman costume because it will be a wonder if this woman can get everything done today!
In Members Only, I've started a thread for us to post Halloween pictures and opened it up with shots of the hit & run that happened on my driveway last night. I'm pretty sure I'm going win the "Best U-Haul Truck Costume" prize!

Re: Thursday Trick or Treat
Might have to come across the pond & borrow that costume, Kathryn. I'm
Poor dh -it has been absolutely POURING! Dcampowner rented 2 very large compressors yesterday to blow out all the water lines. Dh was to have help at 7am -NOT. He has already come in once to change his clothes. His jeans were dripping up to the thigh! He is now completely encased in rain gear -hope that helps. At least the temp is supposed to reach 60's -that will help, but it looks like rain all day. He even shut down 1 compressor a while ago -just not knowing what to do. Campowner will be very unhappy if he has to keep them for another day.
Dh would like to be out of here on SAt. but I'm not sure at all that's going to happen. I have tons left to do. Have a lot of Christmas gifts that arrived yesterday to be wrapped & delivered. I now need to do 2 month's of Church Council notes -now that I have word & printer working. Say nothing of the fact I have a mess in here and barely any packing done. I usually am not this late -guess this dumb cold has taken its toll.
(EDITING to say -think I was whining.) As Harriet's dd15 said, I think I'm waiting to 'feel like' getting started. Think that will happen?
(Pssst.....I'm still able to get on here -sure do wish I knew what made the difference). Perhaps someone more computer savvy than me can figure this out. In the upper right hand corner it says right now: It is currently Thu Oct 31, 2013 9:44 am. I noticed other times when I was unable to get here that the time was always some really crazy time, but I couldn't change it -had no way I could do that. I'm almost sure it has something to do with that. I tried numerous times changing my computer time to equal whatever that said -didn't work (obviously). Just plain strange.
So far I have put away clean dishes & showered -not even dressed yet & it's 9:30. Been coughing a lot, but it's subsiding. Drinking hot liquids trying to get rid of it/congestion. Took f ast m ax and am hoping that works SOON!wearing a Wonder Woman costume because it will be a wonder if this woman can get everything done today!

Re: Thursday Trick or Treat
Good Morning All.
Thursdays are "Breakfast with the Boys" for DH. Several carloads of them go into town for breakfast. It also gives me a couple hours by myself!!
Last night we went to the benefit concert "Yarnell: Rising from the Ashes". It was so good. Lots of talent in that little town. 122 houses lost and 8 are already being rebuilt as of yesterday. It was 4 months ago yesterday that the 19 hotshots died in the fire.
The first act of the concert was drummers and light show re-creating the fire - starting slowly, then the crescendo (sp) then silence with the bell tolling 19 times. Very moving.
I am so proud of my church - I just have to brag here. Before the fire was even contained (it burned for 10 days), church leaders got together by phone and in the temporary shelters and formed a not-for-profit corporation to rebuild the town. Our church has been the headquarters for most of the volunteer effort and relief organizations for the last 4 months.
The majority of the performers last night were from our church as were the organizers, and the people behind the scenes. Also the people in the lobby selling CD's of the original music, t-shirts, and taking up collections.
DH home now so I have to get ready to go to the grocery store. I've made up menus and have my list ready. TTFN

Re: Thursday Trick or Treat
All right – shoes on, bra on… I’m ready to try my next step: 15 minutes of SOMETHING.
Y’all wish me luck.
Trick or treat. Ooohhh… treats… I love treats. I cannot stop eating treats and with bad weather coming tonight, I am pretty sure I’m going to have 3 bags of S nickers to do something with.
I like the idea of Kathryn’s costume… hmmm… but let’s see… my virtual costume will be Lady Violet from Downton Abbey. I guess she's my hero lately. She just always has the right thing to say.
Ooohhh… yes, blessed has a wonderful costume and house decorations too. Wish I could re-create THAT here for real, too.
MT – that is a great thing that your church is doing. The concert sounds amazing, too…. But I’m sure it was an extremely emotional moment for all when the bells tolled. So touching.
(((Nancy’s dgd))) and (((Nancy)))
Waving to ALL!!! Happy Halloween. I’m a real dud for Halloween. Gotta put my ceramic pumpkin on the porch. Maybe I’ll do better when dgs gets a little older. Don’t know why I’m such a lazy Halloween-er. My dbro LOVES it. At 42 years old, I think it is still his favorite holiday of the year. He used to build haunted houses around town for different organizations. (Started out with one at our house when he was really just a kid!) He just loves it. Ddil loves it. I’m like, okay… we’ve got candy.
