Good Morning!

Brrrr! Winter has arrived here. The wind chill is 21 degrees with a 20mph breeze so I drove the pickup to the end of the driveway for LO and I to have a place to hide from the wind while waiting for the bus.

Breakfast = Omelettes with loads of vegetables.
Lunch - Large fresh salad, pinto beans, sauteed summer squash, baby carrots
Supper - Left over lasagna, sauteed asparagus. dessert = pineapple, apple and banana chunks topped with spray whip

PODA -
** CFO cards. I am once again behind the MPB daily receipts. I have 4 days stacked up waiting to be processed plus several other must-do financial cards.
** meet with counselor and DMom. I received 17 raving txt message from DD yesterday. I won't be surprised if I receive the same input from DMom today. I can either abandon our relationship or hang in there with a small hope.
** Sams/WM list buying stops. Maybe. depends on my emotional state.
** document & emotionally process counseling session.
** Help LO with his homework and monitor the tasks he is able to do himself.

Well I did that to myself -lost a post. Did a dumb thing and of course it was gone.

My to-do for today is getting better, getting better, getting better. The fever I had yesterday, low grade though it was -it was up a couple of degrees above my 'normal', is gone. Do know if this thing starts getting worse again I will be going to UC. Enough is enough.

Dh has gone for his walk. I'm not even trying until I get better.

How I love traveling through Kathryn's eyes. Love it when any 2 of us can get together. Doubt I'll ever head west but getting to know Okay even better through your posts.

Hoping dbf's day goes well as she consults with the oncologist today, etc. She's promised to call me later, but I all too well know how tired you can get by telling 'the story'.

Have lots of desk type work that I can do over the next few weeks. Have filing and purging to do. Need to find out if my printer is still working after 6 months. Sometimes the ink dries up I'm afraid.

((((Okay)))) wish I had some sage advice for either situation which in reality is all one. You are so often on my heart.

Okay, your heart will know if/when it's time to pull back. Hard as any of that will be. Know it's not in your nature.

Today is the quietest day of my week - I have a noon meeting at the temple and a 5:30 Exec committee meeting at the temple. Need to do prep for Exec committee meeting at some point and catch up with routines, paperwork, almost everything!

Temp is dropping here today - we may have flurries or a little freezing rain but no accumulation or issues. Gray looking, windy day out and dogs haven't been walked.

-walk ddogs
-make the bed
-fold laundry, reboot
-empty dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters

Okay. Wow, raving texts from dd? You have a lot on your plate as usual. Mind boggling, although a year ago dsis was calling dmom that many times a day, before she was hospitalized. Is dd's mental health on a downswing?

(Dee) getting yourself well.

I am getting busy, finally.

(((Okay)))

I guess I pushed my dm too far. When will I learn that I am fighting a losing battle with her over her toxic waste dump of a home? She won't answer my calls, so I finally just left a message that I am not coming. I talked to db1 and he hasn't heard from her since last Monday night, when she was at his house after going out to eat with db2. Db1 had told db2 that the job they were working on, that he wouldn't be paid until mid-month. Since work is slow, he is low on cash flow and he wouldn't be paying db2 or the other worker until he was paid. They both agreed to that. Then Saturday db2 demanded to be paid, because he needed to be in OK on Monday for a dr. appt. So db1 wrote him a check and he left. I told db1 that is probably the best money he ever spent, if db2 is going to act that way, he can find his own work in OK. As for dm, she continues to live in denial. Anytime we cross the line with her in regard to her house, she just shuts us out.

Dd2 told me that she watched a Hoarder's episode where everything in the house had to be destroyed because it tested positive for Hantavirus, e coli, and several other toxic health issues. They wore haz-mat suits to remove everything. Now I am wondering if the house itself had to be destroyed. We got sidetracked talking about dm's house and I didn't think to ask. It is obvious that as long as dm is alive and knows her own name, nothing is going to change with that house. Life is too short to be estranged over a never ending situation, so when dm comes around, I am not approaching this issue with her again. It just isn't worth it. If she can live with it, so can I. :(

Yesterday dd2 kept the 2 little girls home. She didn't get over to the new house until 12:30. Dg2 especially was being a brat. It was hard to get anything done with her constantly doing something she shouldn't be doing. I still need to clean out the cabinets in 1 bathroom, the laundry area and the closet shelves in 3 bedrooms. Then everything will be move in ready.

Today is dance lesson Tuesday again.

Good morning, villagers ~

This morning we are at 12 degrees, wind chill 0. Now I can believe that the holidays will be here very soon. I still need to fix my winter coat. It is wearable, but the frayed seams will look bad until I mend them. I'm still puzzled why the seams are pulling apart, because the coat is actually a little roomy and the lining looks fine. Maybe that's where my seatbelt rubs when I'm driving?

Yesterday afternoon it took me so long to balance the library group's books, trying to decipher other people's notes, that I missed the deadline to get the deposit to the bank before they closed at 4. I also admit that once I realized that they might not even be open because of the holiday, and I knew the post office was closed all day, I stopped pushing.

I wouldn't even have left the house yesterday, but I still had the library key that needed to be returned. While I was there I chatted with the staff about how the event went and what we can improve for the next project. I also needed to make copies of checks & invoices for the files -- more paperwork, :P .

So today I have the same deadline as yesterday.
5 X 4 PM ~
* make a final check to be sure the records balance
* write out the deposit slip
* write checks to pay half a dozen bills
* go to the post office and bank
* Email report to the library group members

Once I finish the library group work, I can switch back over the sewing group stuff that I've been ignoring since last week. With any luck, I won't get any Emails today and can wait until tomorrow to start fresh.

((Okay))

Dear Lucylee ~ All kinds of things will happen between now and the GS concert in March. Put the tickets in a safe place and FORGET ABOUT THE WHOLE THING until after Valentine's Day. To be blunt and realistic, even if your DMom really wants to go with you, you won't really KNOW whether or not she's going until you pick her up and hit the road that day. Worrying about that now will ruin your holidays. Concentrate on enjoying this week.

Now ... how do I take my own advice and enjoy this week instead of worrying about next month?

My to-do today is going for a repeat mammo. They "saw something" and requested that I come back in November. I am scared to the point of complete inability to do anything today or yesterday. All I did was read yesterday. Internet and books. Finished "It" and started a mindless Susan Howatch (?) historical romance/suspense. It's so predictable, but I'm plowing through it anyway.

My ta-da: Laundry is done. That, and showering took me an hour (I do the washing in the shower while I'm in there and then do the rinsing after in the sink.)

My to-do: financial data entry and start on in-box clean out.

My fun to-do: explore Santa Fe a bit more. I know I'm supposed to be interested in the churches and the galleries and the shopping but I'm not. I will walk around though and watch the people.

Dh went down for breakfast at 8 and was back at 8:20 because it was just a light continental breakfast. By then I was out on the balcony having my tea and chocolate. Yes it is 37 out but it is sunny and the balcony is out of the wind. Plus I was hot from all the work on the laundry.

He's at work now. I guess I need to be back here at the hotel at noon so we can have lunch together. I showed him on the map where the grocery store is because one of the Chinese delegation is looking to buy some food. If dh is going to eat breakfast with me, he'll need more cereal. He only has 1 day left in the box.
