Wunnerful, wunnerful Wednesday...

Post by lucylee »

Isn't that how Lawrence Welk used to say wonderful? Do any of you watch that? Dmil still does occasionally, while waiting for the Gaithers to come on on Saturday nights.

Well, I hope it IS a wonderful Wednesday. I will be spending most of it w/dgs. DH and DS are going to college town, last home basketball game of the season. They'll be cheering against Twins' team, btw! ;)

I have no real plans for the day... except maybe laundry? There is so much I think needs to be done around here... and so little motivation. Tuesday was kinda lost; ds came over and we walked 2 miles (and it was COLD!) ... then we s2s, went to dmil's, ate supper, and kept dgs the rest of the night while ds/ddil went to a movie. It was dh's idea -- he suggested they go out b/c it was $2 night at the movie.

So now... bedtime and get ready for Granny duty!

Posted in J&C some... thinking of all of you... especially the Harmony and Harriet families right now. Hope you both get some encouraging words today!
Tomorrow is another day.

thanks for the start Lucylee.

tai chi this morning.
then home. not a great deal of action from me here today.
Walked 3k.
old neighbours here when I got back. they are staying at his fathers place while waiting for something. he said they can only stay there another 10 day. Guessing its a line in the sand. Hoping the person they are waiting to vacate finds a place - or they find a place of their own.

I need go wash dishes.
Good night.
Just begin.

Can't imagine how you do it, LucyLee. Getting to bed so late that is and still managing dgs today. You're amazing! I lost a lot of sleep Monday night and barely functioned all day yesterday.

Dh was up and gone by 5:30 for his walk. No way I can get up that early. I'm s2s, bed made & meds done. Foggy out right now. DD and dsil have now both left for work, so it's just me and Bailey. Slept better last night with a little help from Benadryl. :x Didn't take anything the night before because I wanted to be bright eyed & bushy tailed yesterday morning. Right! We met dbil/dsil for breakfast at 8:30 then went to their house to help clean out their niece's travel trailer. I didn't help but dh did and they know nothing about campers so dh had to get everything unlocked and the slides out, etc. Niece lives in PA but they normally come here for a few weeks in the summer and camp at Turtle Beach. Can't happen this year and they've decided to sell it.

I need to get going on my taxes. Finally figured out I need to get out my old computer and email last year's taxes to myself. For some reason nothing from 2012-early 2013 saved on my external hard drive. So I have nothing to go on for this laptop. Computer is only 3 feet away and I know it won't be that much of a job -it's just (as my signature says) "beginning".

Dh will be very surprised to see me up when he gets home. Will try to get out and walk some when the fog lifts and daylight hits. Don't think dh will be walking quite so early next week after DST starts. Maybe I can get myself up and going then. We're planning to go to Jacksonville this weekend. DS-R, DDIL, and TJ (dgs9) are coming down for dgs to race in the first national WKA event of the year. They're coming down with another family. DS still can't do much to help with his arm in a sling -not supposed to be anyway. Dh might be able to help a little.

Supposed to have stormy weather tomorrow so want to get my running around done today. Not that I can't drive in the rain -just don't like to.

Okay is inspiring me to do some decluttering (live up to my name maybe?) I'm sure there's a perpetual declutter list in here somewhere.

DD put a roast in the crockpot this morning and is planning barbecued beef for supper. I'll take some out for dh before we add the seasonings.

I'm up, have had my first mug of tea, have driven GG and Dd15 to school. I saw that dh did not put the recycling at the curb; I'll go do that next.

Oh - what is going on with school this week is testing is happening different days for different grades. So, yesterday was the ACT and maybe other tests for Juniors only, which is why the girls did not have to go to school. This morning, sophomores are tested, so they're the only ones at school until 11:20 a.m. This is why I needed to drive GG and dd15; dd18 isn't going in until later. Tomorrow, I think it is Juniors again. All my girls will go in late tomorrow a.m.

NO meetings or appts. on my calendar for today!! :) I'm expecting a call from ds this morning to pick him up and bring him home; he's returning from his group's trip to Detroit this morning. (This is spring break for the big U in town.) Lots of things I need to get caught up on, though.

Dh is up and it looks like he's ready to head out the door.

I'm off to s2s and get the a.m. routine done - and prep dd15's room for ds.

Did a lot of picking up/putting away in our room. Back to orderliness once more. Also repacked some clothes going north -one container for dh & one for me (hmmmm....mine is full & is his only 1/3 -but then he has a whole suitcase of things he left up there that he wouldn't need in the ensuing weeks here). Going to send as much north with him as I can. Then dd and I won't have a whole lot to take with us. Of course I'll still have it ALL to take care of once I get up there. Can't imagine what our RV will look like when I get there. Just hoping I have lots of energy then. :? Right now I can imagine cleaning & clearing a lot but in reality I know I'll be dragging for at least a few days.

I know the 'trick' is to just keep moving. Yesterday I didn't even have 1,000 steps -barely more than 500! :o Not good but at least BS didn't reflect that this morning.

We have nothing planned for today. Dh did mention that he'd like to go to the museum at 'Fantasy of Flight' which is nearby. He heard this morning that they're closing (for good) on April 6th. So have to see if I can fit that in to our schedule. At some point we have to meet dh's other db & his wife for lunch or something. They don't live all that far away, we just don't get together with them very much. This brother is 11 years older than dh and there's some bad blood between dh's other brother & this one. Family dynamics. And he is different from the other 2.

Think I'll find a box for some off dd's things that she's sending north & label it so it can just go to her MH when dh gets the chance.

Foggy morning here too, but it is burning off now. Clouds in the sky. I carried my umbrella around yesterday thinking it would rain and I'd get all those papers wet, but it never did.

We used to watch Lawrence Welk every week. My 1st MiL loved it and we used to sit there and watch together. When DD1 moved away I guess she put it on the TV and boyfriend said, "we're not going to sit and watch THAT". I guess she didn't know it was just for us old foggies!

Got everything but one thing done for February month closing. Updated 3 spreadsheets. Glad to have that done.

Yesterday they had a big noisy "Mardi Gras" parade throughout the facility with people pushing wheelchairs around but it was very noisy and necessary personnel were off doing this and the intercom was blaring every 2 minutes asking for people to come push wheelchairs. I was sitting right under one of the speakers and had to hold my ears over and over. Was glad when that was over.

Today I am glad all the paperwork for those projects is done as much as possible and now it's just the waiting. Feels like a little reprieve.

Next: Wash dishes, fold another basket of laundry, run sweeper, get dressed, go see DH.

At my computer now.

Didn't get on the treadmill this morning, I decided there should be enough walking with my activities later today

I've to drop something off with my old minister, then lunch, then a meeting at Presbytery, then a meeting with the property manager at the apartment and then drop my pre-engagement ring off at the jewelers to be repaired. Again. It broke in the same spot as last time (about 3 years ago.)

I've started dinner in the crock pot and tidied up the kitchen.

Dh is on one of his weekly conference calls so I've shut the doors to the office. Next up, reconcile another investing account.

Morning y'all...
Feeling good and off to a great start :)

Have routines and foot prints done. Doggies fed and laundry going. Yesterday I noticed a coating of dust around the house. Knew Lawrence's camels must be waiting over the hill. Took care of that so they will have try to visit another time.

Today is sunflower day. Once it warms up a bit I will start working on my gardens. Think there will be a big box store run in my future.

I'm off... Need to find my brimmed hat first. Y'all have a great day and I'll see ya'll later....
