Formidable on Friday

Post by Harriet »

Formidable - Merriam Webster
Very powerful or strong : deserving serious attention and respect.

Oh, be honest, homemakers - you know it describes you!

You've got this. :|

Now let's go out there and kick some serious Friday. Wait, wait... .. I need the fruit rearranged in my headdress. Okay, I'm ready.

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for opening the thread, Harriet. I was stuck for a title for the day, and wrote the rest of the post first hoping for inspiration. You saved me! I like Formidable.

Calico Cat and I woke up at 4 and could not get back to sleep, so I finally gave up and got up at 4:30.
I have been taking care of kitchen and desk tasks, but I'm almost ready to go back to bed. I think Calico Cat is already there.

Errands this afternoon:
* Bank for library group deposit
* ATM for sewing group deposit
* ATM for cash for DH
* Post office
* Library to pick up bookmarks they are creating for tomorrow's event
* While at the library, I'll run copies of a little handout I made with the LEGO Club schedule.
* Maybe grocery store? although would rather postpone that until Monday or Tuesday.

Tomorrow I'm staffing a table at a craft bazaar, to ask for donations for LEGO Club. I've posted about the display in AC&N thread. LEGO Club partner will help me set up the display at Oh-dark-thirty, but then she has to zip off to a boy scout event so I'll be on my own for the day.

Tonight I will need to
* Pack my small crossbody bag so I don't have to keep track of my normal purse, which is more like Mary Poppins's carpetbag. (When one lives at least a 30-minute drive from most places, one needs a big purse for most days! 8-) )
* Cook eggs to make egg salad for tomorrow's breakfast. I think I should start the day with protein, since I'm not sure when I'll have time to eat once I'm on site.
* Fill water bottle. (How much water do I dare drink when I'll be the only one staffing the table, and don't know where the restroom is located? :? )
* Make sure all the last-minute stuff is on the launching pad ready for morning.

Hopefully I've dealt with the formidable telemarket company for the last time. Msg today. It won't be completely over until I see my next bill with charges all cancelled out as promised.

Load of washing done today. Its still on the line.
Walked 3k. I think my backside / walking is a little better - it took until crossing the road about 1.3k mark to start to ache again and that is quite an improvement..
Talked with a friend - we had words earlier this week so seems like things are ok again.
Just begin.

I don't feel formidable today. For instance, I haven't exercised.

I have done my Friday morning chore which led to this exchange between dh and I:

Me: Since being away, I really resent having stripping and remaking the bed each week. It has become a real chore to me.

Dh: You always say you are going to strip and remake the bed but every time I come into the room, you have your clothes on.
At least I'm starting my day with humour!

I've, stripped and remade the bed, s2s, dishwasher is empty, laundry is sorted and waiting for less expensive electricity, and had my tea (real tea, partly because I'm busy emptying this tin so I can paint the tin with blackboard paint) with too much chocolate (no 'moving' excuse there, it isn't as if I need to eat up all the chocolate before we move!)

I shall go find a cloak of formidability and put it on.

hi everyone!

It's the first full day of my vacation!! I go back to work on April 22.

To make things even more marvelous, Mike just left for an eye specialist appointment and then he's heading to his mom and dads. So that means...

I have the place to myself for the entire day!! Very rare for this to happen. I will be shredding and washing stuff that needs to hang to dry and working on putting the 20 rolls of 24 pictures from last spring's trans Atlantic cruise into a photo album. (I just picked them up last night because I didn't drop them off until last week.)
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Good morning y'all...

Happy Pi Day to you Cathy ... Next year will be even more special as it will be 3.1415 with the correct number extended even further with numbers from time; hour, minutes, seconds, and nano seconds.

My week has been filed with fun. My new SUV came in and for the last several days sweetie and I have been learning how to drive it. So many dials and such that it gets us to laughing. Took us hours to figure out how to turn off the radio. This car is keyless and you just push a button to start it. You have to carry a small thob that "talks" to the car.

My SUV was ten years old. My new one is a dream car and a present from Sweetie. Remember he is building his Shelby Cobra and he wanted me to have a new car too. This SUV is equipped with a towing package. Once Sweeties car is finish we will purchase a trailer and be able to attend car show all over the West Coast.

This morning I will finish my morning routines...which now includes watering my gardens...picking up footprints, feeding the pups and a few other things and then Sweetie and I are taking off for a long ride and a lunch date. I worked yesterday and came home pretty tired. May have been because I didn't get lunch.

Waving to y'all. Enjoy your day, I'm off to have some fun

We are home from LO surgery and he is doing great. He did outstanding this morning going into surgery. LO and the male surgery nurse bonded at his last surgery. That bond made this surgery super easy. LO left us and calmly walked into the surgery room holding hands with his buddy. LO told us later that his buddy helped the other guy (anesthetist) put a mask that smelled funny on his face and that is the last thing he can remember. Another nurse carried LO in her arms back to us from recovery as he was waking up. I like easy medical procedures!

On the way home, I stopped by the pharmacy and picked up the rest of LO meds. Eeek! One of them cost $462. Insurance covered $350 of it. I'm thankful his other meds was just a few dollars and not so costly.

I've written down the times to give LO meds to him.......11 times today (3 meds).

EXHALE.....I'm glad to have the worst of this over with.
