I'm up and s2s. Now to get highlights done for dh for a church council meeting this afternoon. Rain should be here soon. Supposed to be stormy today. We're supposed to go to dbil/dsil's this morning. Dsil and I are to go on a short shopping trip to B eall's O utlet. She may decide she doesn't want to go today. Perhaps I'll call her first before we venture out. I hate the thought of being gone all day. I NEED to get our taxes done and sent off.

St. Patrick's Day in my corner of the world is suppose to be very windy and 72. Tomorrow the wind will blow the other direction with a high of 53.

Today I will spend the day at dd2's, helping her deep clean so that she can get the house ready to sell. In fact, I have committed to helping her for the next 3 days. Starting out I will be cleaning the refrigerator and microwave. Then move on to ceiling fans. I am taking a container of Tang today to run thru an empty dishwasher. I am sure I will get oven duty and she has a double oven wall unit. All these projects are the time consuming ones, that anyone can do. All the sorting thru of things to keep or get rid of in a garage sale, can only be done by her.

Saturday was the consignment auction, where all of dd2's tables, chairs, gelato case, shelves, etc., from the business, were taken to be sold. I shudder to think how little she will probably make. She paid $5000.00 for the gelato case. The business venture was a definite live and learn experience for her. She is so glad to have her life back after spending 21 months devoted to the business, between 6 months of prepartion and 15 months of being open. When she closed, we inventoried and packed all the bisque that she didn't want to keep for her and the kids to paint. She had talked to a lady that runs a shop in a town about 3 hours from here. There was $1100.00 of bisque and she offered it to the lady for $650.00. Dd2 would have delivered it free and without tax the lady would have had a bargain, but she only wanted to pay a few hundred dollars. Dd2 decided by the time we delivered it with gas and a meal, it would really reduce her profit, so she decided to donate it. She contacted one of the art teacher's at the HS. He was excited to have the donation but told her his wife runs the art center and he would share it with her. When it was time to deliver it, he told dd2 that his wife wanted all of it, so that's where she delivered it. They gave her a letter declaring her donation plus gave her a year's membership to the art center. Dd2 is excited to have her dining room back. It had been stacked with boxes of bisque for 6 weeks.

Saturday dh and I went to Sears and finally ended up buying a treadmill. We picked it up yesterday. We ended up having to bring it in the sunroom in pieces. The platform is so...... heavy, he will need help to bring it down to the basement. We need to rearrange our L-shaped computer corner to have room for it. Right now my file cabinet and small computer station is on the long wall of the configuration and his big computer desk plus another shelf with all kinds of electronics is on the short side. So if we reverse it and move the racing chair with steering wheel, pedals, seat elsewhere, we will have room.

Well I better quit babbling and have breakfast, meds and a shower, so I can head to dd2's.

Happy cleaning, Lilac. Bless you -know all too well how much work it is to 'clean out' -have done it too many times.

Going to make bean soup for dinner. Never got to buy things for corned beef 'n cabbage. We'll have it some other day.

Knee is doing a little better day by day. Think I'll try to forego the knee brace today. I'm still hobbling, but as badly.

Dh only has 6 more sleeps here and he'll be headed north. We have our church's anniversary celebration this coming Sunday and he may leave after that. He'll already be a good 1/2 hour on the way from there. If he's spending the night with friends in Ocala he'll leave Sunday -if not, he'll leave Monday. Friday, we have to go to Sebring to pick up the truck he'll be driving home. About 50 miles or so from here. Think we'll just leave right from church (after I finish the bulletin). Reminds me I have to look up the particulars on a restaurant he wants to visit on the way home.

In honor of St Patrick's Day, I've been listening to Irish music. Looked up several versions of "The Rocky Road to Dublin" on Youtube.

A note from yesterday, I love Peg Bracken's books. I've used the I Hate to Cook Almanac so much that it's falling apart.

Today I need to return the card table, chairs, and LEGO display to the library. Must do some cleaning in the kitchen.

Other tasks to be determined by whatever Emails I receive this morning about the sewing group's day camp at the end of the week.

I'm posting in Green in honour of the Day!

I'm up after a not bad sleep considering a roaring furnace is in the next room and bed was insanely cold. I knew airbeds can be cold (the air inside is room temp, so in this case I was sleeping on a 62* surface) so I put dd's comforter under us and we brought our duvets to go over us (with her sheet over that to hold in more heat.) I had a heating pad too and by the middle of the night, our bodies had warmed up the air in the bed so it was fine.

We could sleep upstairs but there's only one bathroom up, and if we are in the basement we get a bathroom to ourselves.

CM is really sick today so we are to call the choir members to tell them it is canceled. There's nothing else I can do from here to help her out. The boys are old enough that they made their own lunches and got themselves off to school. They realized how sick she was when she grabbed the empty juice carton to be sick into while trying to get them breakfast. All three had been sick over the past 12 days so they should have a recent memory of how mom feels. CF left at 4 a.m. on a business trip. I'm sure he feels guilty but had no choice.

Our plans for today are pretty quiet. We'll walk to the grocery store for lunch fixings (and dd's store is closer to this house than ours will be to the apartment) and then we'll take dd on errands with the car (they don't have a car.) Although thinking about it, she better stay home from the walk since she is still sick and has to work tomorrow.

She observed last week that:

Sign you have an early shift: a restaurant called 'Rise and Shine: Breakfast and Deli' is still closed when your bus drives by.

Ds wrote both dh and I back. He's only working 4 hours a day at the moment (to cover his room and board) while he's on trial at the resort. He's an all-rounder which means he does whatever is required. So far that includes washing dishes, cleaning the bar after if closes and using the ute to remove a pile of bricks from a wall demolition. So lots of variety. TGF is doing well. They both have tomorrow off so will head into town since there is 'nothing to do' on the mountain. They figure they will be busy tonight with St. Patrick's Day celebrations at the bar.

Lynlee I'll pass along that recommendation to him.

I can hear dd coughing. Not sure if she's awake or just coughing in her sleep.

Add me to the list of Peg Bracken fans. Her books were among those that 'made the cut' and weren't donated when we culled books.

Oh my goodness, I am so happy to have a quiet morning here. I was up at 8:15 or so aided by barking dogs. I think that I told dh around 6 a.m. that I had fed them so he didn't feed them....when I got up they kept badgering me so I think I hadn't fed them after all.

I am so happy to have a mostly quiet day today. Ds has a dermatologist appt this afternoon - I think that dd will take him so I just need to be sure they are up. (Elvis time again.) DH bowls tonight so will be a quiet evening too, and then will be out of town until sometime on Thursday. I need to do prep this week for temple board meeting on Wednesday night and exec committee meeting before.

I need to get rolling but can't find the BGS.

I am ready and waiting for a phone call from dd2. She has an appt to have her vehicle detailed. I will pick her up there and then we will head to her house and get busy. I sure spend a lot of time waiting on that girl...........There's the call.

Everyone has had breakfast and we are debating doing to do the errands before or after lunch. Dd doesn't have her lists made up so dh and I will walk for lunch fixings, have lunch, do errands and then go back out after putting away the groceries. Lots of driving but it shouldn't be too bad.
