Good morning, villagers ~
From the Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka:
So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it. Thank you.
LEGO Club today. I'm going to try starting clean-up 15 minutes before the end of the meeting. The kids should have the pieces they need for their projects by then so I can start gathering and condensing the storage containers. I can put away extra chairs, and get the vacuum out of the closet as a hint. It's time to get the club members used to helping with clean-up.
I ran into a snag yesterday trying to cut fabrics for sewing camp. Several of the donated pieces are directional prints -- meaning that I have to watch out how I cut them or the people and animals will be upside-down. Some of the pieces are not quite big enough, so I'll have to patchwork to combine. Not impossible, just takes extra time. I've adjusted my goal to having enough pieces cut to get me through the first day. I'll get up to cut more throughout the day tomorrow as I need breaks from sitting at the sewing machine.
We do pot luck meals during our sewing camps, meaning that the organizer sends an email with the menu she has decided and people sign up for what they will bring. I said I would make chicken salad for sandwiches, using our group's usual recipe which starts with a big can of chicken breast from Sam's. She wants the chicken salad for Friday lunch so I'll mix it up tomorrow night. I still have to buy the chicken, but I can stop there in the morning on my way to where we're meeting.
I'm not responsible for opening the building this time, so I don't have to worry about getting there before everyone else. I also won't have to stay at night until everyone else is ready to leave. What freedom!

Hi, BookSaver. Gee, that is a very structured way to have "pot luck", lol. Not just a prescribed menu, but prescribed recipe. Sounds like assignments instead of the usual pot luck serendipity. Of course, if a group depended on me to provide much in the way of tasty food, they might be in trouble
so who am I to question. And some may have diet requirements that make them hope there will be more planning.
I have an extensive list of errands for later today, when, supposedly, the sun will shine. Pharmacy 1, pharmacy 2, drop off forms, return clothes that didn't fit. Just need to decide whether to wait for dd to go with me. I'd rather wait in hopes of warmer temps, but she has really been stretched thin lately, staying up to get homework done, and actually I think she has volleyball practice today. Should have gotten that straight before school run, but we were rushed.
Twins' Mom, is the sun shining yet at your house? Hope you have some cheer today.
Hope Lilac did not blow away in the high winds.
I am having to sleep a lot lately. Wondering what that means. Surely I am "caught up" by now on lost sleep during our family's tough time. I know there was one night especially I missed almost all sleep. But I put up with that so much when my dmother was unwell. Don't remember just sleeping my life away after that.
I had celery for breakfast.
And will have egg and bacon for brunch. Inspired by H and F posters to have a low-sugar or nearly-no-sugar day today.

Hope you have a good weekend, Booksaver. Saw Harriet's light on a second ago, but she may be elsewhere in our little village.
Shoulder is really acting up this morning so it's hard to get my arm up enough to type.

Have moments like these I'm afraid and it seems to come more often the older I get. Imagine that! I had a complete shoulder replacement in 1995 and the pain has never gone away. Someone told me the other day -"don't tell me that".

BUT that being said, I've never let it hold me back.
Spent the night tossing and trying to get my leg/knee comfortable. Dh had to take my shoe/sock off last night -just couldn't bend enough to get them off. Keep hoping this is going to heal on its own.
DD has spring break this next week and I know she's going to want to go to Disney (I do too, just not sure I can manage it). She's also going to be spending the week exploring some legal options. She's going through a pretty emotional upheaval right now. Will post elsewhere.
I'm on the downswing of getting dh ready to go. I'd like to send as much home with him as possible -so dd and I don't have so much in another 5 weeks. Can't believe it's already time to think about heading north.
'
Would love to be at my db/dsil's this week to help them get ready to move. They've lived in the Villages (about 1 3/4 hours north of us) for about 3 1/2 years. They've sold their house (in about a day and a half) and have bought one in Sugar Mill Woods, near Homassasa, FL. Db really wanted to be closer to rivers and other water. He'd really like a boat ("if my wife lets me get one!"

). They will be closer to their ds who lives east of Tallahassee.
DS was just "born grown."
LucyLee, just loved that quote. We're always saying pretty much the same about dgs and he's only 19 months old. But it's like he's in a hurry to be all grown up. He's so busy doing as much as possible and ddil is really good at letting him explore all sorts of life options already. We've commented that it seems he's trying to live life for both himself and for dZoe. (DD and I will make our annual trip to Disney on her 3rd birthday -April 15. We 'take' her with us and go to where we know she would have loved to go -Magic Kingdom. Especially "It's a Small World". )
Don't remember just sleeping my life away after that.
Uh, you might be a couple of days older through this round, Harriet. And you also had a lot of time going through things with your dMom and it more slowly evolved. The differences also probably had different effects on your body.
Off to breakfast and other things.

BookSaver, I am glad that you will now have the freedom to enjoy your sewing club again. You have earned that freedom after all the work and time you put into it while you were in charge.
Harriet, the wind yesterday was everything they were projecting. It is to be calmer today.
Round 3 today on cleaning at dd2's house. I am beginning to wonder just how soon she will be able to list her house. They have so much stuff and with 7 people there are lots and lots of clothes. The little girls drag out stuff and then don't put it away before getting anything else out. I can do cleaning but sorting thru things is not something I can help with. With those 12 foot ceilings, I have to clean the ceiling fans on a 6 ft. step ladder.
Dee, enjoy these last few days with your dh before he heads north. It doesn't seem possible that it is time to do that again.
Guess I better do breakfast, meds and shower.......... This feels like my own version of the movie "Groundhog's Day".

I have a quieter day today, thank goodness. I was out of the house for a little over 8 hours yesterday, including tutoring and teaching team meeting, taking dd15 to her oboe lesson, dinner date with GG, and then going straight to the band concert. Monday, I was out about 5 hours. I do have some errands to run today, but I hope to run them this afternoon when the girls are back from school. I hope to capitalize on a quiet morning at home, though dh hasn't gone to work yet. He's currently out on a run, though.
Girls have early release day today. Not sure why. They'll be home a little after 1 pm.
I still haven't decided on a menu for the dinner gathering tonight. . . .
I have had my first mug of tea, checked emails, checked any updates on the Malaysian flight (nothing), folded and put away a load of kitchen laundry, folded and put away another lol. On with the a.m. routine - would like to have it done by 10 a.m. I've added devo. time to it so it takes longer.
I think I forgot to tell Harriet that I really enjoyed her opening yesterday!! I like your quote today too, Bookie! I don't remember that line in the movie. Wonder if it is in the book?
Maybe you can get a nap in later today, Dee?
Wonderful that you can help (and want to help!) your dd like this, Lilac.

DD suggested last night that I could just consider myself "done" with my presidency and let other people pick up the pieces and finish things instead of stressing myself like this. I almost could, but I couldn't. I'm too responsible, I'm afraid.
-clear kitchen counters
-meds, me + ddogs
-start a lol
-breakfast
Incoming president is trying to work on a temple issue - I have records going back four years on this issue - I've been president for three years, was treasurer two years before that but I don't think I was privy to this particular issue for the first year as treasurer.
OMM for today:
-must be ready for board meeting tonight, agenda, budget

AH!!! it works this morning.
Yesterday was a busy day. Went to the thyroid Dr. Gee! I have lumps in my thyroid ==== tell me something I didn't know - I've had them since 2001. What are you going to do???? Of course, watch them. Get more blood tests and come back in 6 weeks. I so want to be over this.
Then I went shopping. I never go clothes shopping for me. DH sat in a nice chair and I tried on dress after dress, slacks and tops and more. Ended up with 3 dresses, beige slacks and two tops. I haven't spent that much $$ since I bought my wedding dress. But it was fun.
The rest of the week is free. But carving week starts on Saturday. So I need to spiff up the house as I am sure some one will come over. I also need to get my knives together and maybe even carve a bit so I have something to exhibit.
Off to put up meds for the next two weeks. TTFN

Hope you're able to post, MT. "Test" looks good.
Ahhh, it is good to see you, MT! I'm trying to 'whittle' down dh's meds too. Getting them in his daily pods so I can get his big containers done for 2 weeks. Hopefully I can do that Saturday. That will be the truck-packing day. Going to meet dbil/dsil for breakfast tomorrow (early as possible) -cause then we're meeting dSunny & dh for STRAWBERRIES. Time of day we're going and the day of the week -I'm hoping won't be so busy but what we can visit for a while.
Glad to see some improvement at the Harmony household. Just an encouragement, Harmony -it was a long time before dd graduated from the walker to a cane and a very long time with the cane. So Mr. H is doing pretty good. I know how troublesome it is to have a dh who immediately wants to do everything they (thought) could do before.
