What can you do to make things go smoothly today?

Meals are planned for the day.
Laundry is caught up (last load is in the dryer)

Need to spend some time doing CFO tasks. It quickly stacks up without consistent daily attention.

Store run needs to happen at some point this weekend.
One week till spring break.
I am so glad this week is done.
Lovely sun rise here to day.
Trying to focus on being happy.

I'm working on March 30th services. Got the bulletin finished, have written all prayers but two, am mulling a sermon around in my head, and have printed off the dramatic reading of the gospel so I can hand out copies tomorrow at church and the children will have time to practice their parts (I'm going to get the kids to do the dramatic reading for a change.)

Missed a request to work tomorrow since the other minister at the retirement home is sick. The activities person had a typo in the first email she sent in the morning but got the followup in the late afternoon right so I know she asked. I don't think I would have done it anyway, so missing the email makes no difference.

My tummy is upset after eating too much for breakfast. Although, at the time, I didn't know it would be too much.

I'm still in my pjs. Haven't exercised or got the bed made yet. Will probably start a load of laundry and then exercise, or at least s2s.

Ah, smooth . . . . I like it when things go smoothly. So far my day has gone smoothly. I have s2sed, spiffed myself, was out the door at 9 a.m. to drive dd15 to neighboring village (about 25 minutes to their high school) for the state solo/ensemble festival. We got there way too early. I spent some time chatting with a good acquaintance whose dd15 is my dd15's friend from elem. and middle school, watched dd15's performance, etc., came home, had some lunch. It is now a little after noon. She did well, despite fudging (and correcting) one note on one scale and not reading the key signature for the 2nd sight reading assignment - and not realizing the mistake until the last measure. She says there was no key signature for the first sight reading passage (I assume it was key of C then) and she assumed it was the same for the 2nd passage. She played her prepared piece very very nicely. She has really developed her musicality. Overall, she got a "1," which is the highest rating. She wishes she could have played things a little better, but is generally happy with the performance. She says she will never make the mistake of not carefully checking key signatures again. So, she learned something too!

Small group is tonight at 5 pm. I need to get a salad together for that, so I'm going to go to the groc. store eventually. I might go for a jog with dh this afternoon, though the weather is rather uninspiring, very gray and 35* at the moment. I managed not to go jogging yesterday either. I think I don't really want to go, though I know I feel so good afterward.

There are odds and ends I need to catch up on too.

First, I'm going to finish my a.m. routine, which is about half done right now.

Hmmm... I think I will take a smooooth nap. We did not get home until after 2:00 a.m. and of course, it was a lot later when we finally turned out the lights.

The concert was sooo good... I am so glad we went. Sheryl Crow was the opening act, and she is a little too rock-n-roll for our taste, but that part was okay. She sang for about 30-45 minutes, I guess, and then when George Strait came on stage, he sang for 3 hours straight! There was a brief break in the music when they presented a new home to a military Wounded Warrior -- apparently that is a part of each of his shows -- and he left the stage briefly and returned for an encore, but otherwise, he was standing and singing the entire time. DH and I were impressed. He is almost 62 years old, still sounds just like he did at 30, still packing in arenas like this -- at least 20,000 last night -- and tonight he'll do the same thing in Atlanta. It's no wonder this is his "farewell" tour. Not many 62 year olds could sell out crowds like this... and he's been doing it since 1981.
People like Justin Bieber would do well to take a few lessons from him. I am especially impressed b/c he and his wife were high school sweethearts and have been married since 1971, have survived this life on this road, plus the loss of a child (death in a car accident at 13), and so far as I know, there has never been any hint of scandal attached to him.
(I know some of you know all this already, but not EVERYONE is a country music fan.)

I know y'all are all yawning by now... I'll try to time travel back from 13 to 52 now.

Today's plan is really no plan at all.
I should do some computer work, backing up files and download pics to be printed...
and I MUST reconcile checkbook.
We will take van back to dmil and check on her, and we should go to a funeral home visitation, but I don't think dh is going to want to. (It's no one really close to us, but a long-time acquaintance, and ds & this man's gs were best friends from K-to being college roommates their freshman year. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they sorta drifted apart, but ds feels he should go to the visitation, and I think we should also.)

Tomorrow night, ds & dh are singing at my mom's church. They need to practice something. They have no idea what they are going to sing.

Oy vey, arguing with dd about getting up and getting her car serviced today.

I've had dMacs out for PT this morning already. I need to get busy somehow....all I want to do is to go back to bed for some reason.

-pick up dog toys and dog poopy in back yard so dh can mow before rain starts
-kitchen counters
-start a load of delicates in washer
-clear kitchen table
-clear my desk and straighten

Fairly smooth Saturday going on here. At least I'm trying to get a few things done.

Lucy, the concert sounded wonderful.

I've been puttering around. Bed changed, those sheets washed. Another load ready to hang up. I emptied my compost. Brought in a bowlful of broccoli. Did some work in kitchen, ran dishwasher, hand washed some other stuff. Got a couple bills paid and mailed. Emptied some wastebaskets. Made lunch and cleaned up. Filled up coffee canister.

Not big jobs, but all things that make our house run smoother. Good topic today.

Dh just gave me a 'time check.' It is 2:20. We are leaving at 3:25 for dinner. I'm still in my pjs.

I meant to do other things but my computer battery icon has been flashing at me for a week, the sound card is failing (no longer can listen to anything including the error beeps because they sound so awful) and my wireless has been flaky since the end of the cruise. So in order to make things go smoothly, I ordered another laptop. They take about 2 weeks to arrive so I'm hoping this one will last that long.

This one is only 3.5 years old so I'm a bit annoyed but it needs a new motherboard to repair the sound issue (and with no sound, I can't use it for Skype with the kids or do some of my exegesis for preaching) so I'm giving up and ordering a new one. It will move to the treadmill and the treadmill one can be retired (it has XP.) I'll have to use my mp3 player when I'm on the treadmill but that's easy to do (and works better when I moving from bike to treadmill to stretches.)

Off to s2s (and start laundry.)

It's sunny, is to be 55* here today, DH might mow again, and I have 4 letters to go out today. DH will drive them up to the community mailboxes. Also, plan to write more letters, to read, do laundry, crochet, and decorate with some more bunnies from my bunny collection. The house is starting to look very festive and Springtime-like.
