Good morning, LynLee (and all who stroll through village today). Didn't get up until nearly 8am. Was awake from 2-4ish (which was way better than the night before). I'm 'easing' into the day. Have my 'project' sitting on the end of the bed, staring me down. I'm happy with the things I'm getting purged and pared down. Putting things in the office as I get them ready for the trip home. Know there'll be a lot less this year. Sounds good to me.

Just finished breakfast. BS was only 71 today so had to eat before I could do much of anything. Think I'll do my day's projects and then meander over to see dsisil for a little while. I'm rarely there more than an hour and a half any more. Gone are the days we could talk for hours. Now I can barely tolerate it.

I'm off and 'busy'..............

Good Morning!

The first 3 hours of my day has went according to plan - not perfectly but acceptable. LO was successfully launched to school with a smile on his face and talking 90-miles a hour. :)

PODA -
** attend state tax seminar (3 hours)
** meet DH for lunch in town
** shop for clothes. Yuck. I really don't want to do this, but am going to make myself.
** LO homework monitored
** Dinner cooked/served/cleaned up
** LO T-Ball practice

Spent the last 45 minutes or so going through my USB/flash drives. Labeled each one and figured how much free space I have. Plan is to save all my needed files & pictures from my old netbook to a flash drive and have it to transfer what files I so desire. Well, that's my plan anyway. Found I probably don't have any flash drive with enough gigs to transfer & save all the info. So will add that to my shopping list. May simply buy one with at least 32gb and be sure to have enough. So, on to next project which may take me all of 15-30 minutes. Oh why do I procrastinate on some of these things. Of course having no one but myself to be responsible for is helping immensely.

I'm up and at it. Chose not to do the treadmill today, am hoping to get enough steps throughout the day but not sure how that is going to happen. If I walk for the mail, that makes 4K but where the other 4K will come from is unknown at this point.

I've tidied the kitchen and the bedroom. I'm on a short break and then will spend 15 working on mail and bill payment. After that, I head over to the church office to sort through the bulletin covers for this year (I'm shopping for the missing weeks tomorrow.) I might treat myself to lunch out as well. I had lunch out yesterday but drive-thru eating doesn't count as a treat!

Good morning, villagers ~

I really enjoyed reading yesterday's posts. So many positive vibes going out into the world!

Tuesday's adventures were interrupted when I called the library group president to ask about a Trustees meeting that night, and learned that she was feeling too unwell to go. I offered to sub as the representative for our Library Friends group.

(The Trustees are the Rich-&-Influential supporters of the library who are appointed by the city to decide on policies, hire staff, manage the capital campaign to enlarge the building, deal with the architect and contractors, and big stuff like that. We in the Friends group are the grass-roots supporters who do smaller fund-raising events for children's activities and such. I think we have the job that is much more fun.)

It was a good meeting for me to attend. The capital campaign to enlarge the building is going well and there was nothing controversial on the agenda, so they were all in a good mood. My name will be listed in their minutes so that's good both for the Friends group and myself, showing that we are being cooperative and supportive of their projects. I'm not particularly savvy in a political way, but even I know that in any Tiny Town, sometimes it is wise to be seen in the right place at the right time.

And it was the right time, because I think that I can help to solve a particular problem that Library Director discovered Tuesday morning involving the main computer program that runs the library business. The problem involves collecting the statistics that the library depends on for state and county funding. The company that designed the software will not help to fix it, so the entire program needs to be replaced within the next couple of months. Unfortunately, the funds to replace the software are not in the current city budget.

I invited the library director to attend the Friends group meeting, which is this evening, and told her that I would support her request for the funds. I understand the issue and how important it is (from when I used to work on the circ desk), and as treasurer of the Friends group I know exactly how much money we have in our accounts. Seems to me that this is a perfect use of our money -- to pay for something that benefits every patron that uses the library, and also helps us to keep receiving state and local funds in the library's annual operating budget.

So anyway, attending that meeting put me behind schedule for Tuesday's goals.
* I finished the library group's financial reports yesterday and sent them out.
* Yesterday I had a meeting with the children's librarian about summer activities and LEGO Club.
* I have the NeverEnding Filing of Papers and other prep to do today for tonight's meeting.
* I may or may not get to the sewing group's financial reports today. That meeting is not until April 12th, though, so if I don't get to them until tomorrow, it isn't a big deal.

I want to do some more sewing today to finish the little bags. I would like to deliver them tomorrow.

I heard on the news that one of the Decorah (Iowa) eagle eggs has hatched. Here's the link to the live camera on the nest:

http://www.farmyou.com/falcon_cams/index.html

They do make you sit through a 30-second commercial sometimes, but then it goes back to the live camera.

I haven't seen the chick yet, one of the parents is covering it and the remaining 2 eggs.

You might want to mute the sound since it is very windy today and thus very noisy.
