Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
It's a whopper of a Monday here. Meeting at 10, meeting at noon (both at temple, altho I may offer to go to the office of the second), then dMacs to PT at 3 and I'm supposed to watch a webinar at 9 p.m., altho that might go by the wayside. The webinar will be placed on the internet in a few days. I really have trouble sitting down and just watching a webinar anyway.
Need to do what I can of a.m. routine here. Rainy morning, altho local weather says rain is ending soon. Last night prediction was for morning T-storms so I gave dMacs meds as soon as I got up, appears he won't need them now?

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Good morning Twins. That does sound like a full Monday! I hope the meetings go well.
I'll be spending about 6 hours in the car today. It looks like I will have rain most of the drive home. Then, I hope to go to Hebrew which has been moved to 5:15. Tonight, I need to make sure I'm prepped for tutoring tomorrow a.m., but we never finished our activities last week, so I think I have more than enough. I'd like to work up an activity using the song "Let it Go," which all my Tuesday a.m. tutees know (and like!), but I don't think I'll have time to get that done by tomorrow.
Had a nice visit here, low-key. Relaxing. I made dinner Saturday night for my family using the ham I'd brought. My Mom teaches an ESL Bible study after church, so I stayed after with her yesterday morning to help with that. Their church sponsors a number of refugees from the Congo. The quilt show Saturday was fun, such beautiful work on display and for auction. My mom had a lot of quilts both on display/for auction, including dd18's graduation quilt, which I'm bringing home.
Alright, I'd better get a move on. Driving might be slow with the rain. . . Sky looks very dark in the west.

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Safe travels, Helia.
Got up late so a slow start here. Shredded paper for a while.
Dh just called to give me the balance owed for our rental fee at the campground. Somehow I don't think he included the deposit for electric. Did say that they don't know yet what propane will be -they think it's gone up 30-40%. Ouch! He's already used over 2 tanks. (Was about $27 last year.)
AND at 9PM?? I'd have trouble even staying awake.I really have trouble sitting down and just watching a webinar anyway.

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Spent an hour IMing with the kids last night while on the treadmill. So finished the week with 9K steps on average each day. That surprised me. Apparently my arithmetic skills aren't strong when dividing by 7. (Actually, I already knew that, and tend to calculate both my 6 and 7 times equations by solving instead of memorization. The nice thing about math is that 3x8x2 is the same as 6x8 but I can't remember 6x8 so work with what I can remember. This has been a lifelong issue, not something new. Just a quirk of my brain, not a sign of decreased mental ability.)
I'm s2s and have just had my tea. Weight is up again due to pizza last night. It never really goes down, only up, although the fact I'm up 2 pounds today over last Monday should only be temporary. The 2.5 lbs over the month of March, however, are not a spike. Green tea over black tea has made no positive difference. Stopping soft drinks - no positive difference. Stopping crackers - no positive difference.
The only positive difference over March is I'm now able to manage more than 8K steps a day on average so my activity level is up and my body isn't rebelling against that increase (or the extra weight.) Not that it makes a difference on weight, but at least I'm working toward fit and fat. Would like to go back to being overweight, though, being obese is a daily assault on my self-esteem.
I feel like I'm at a fish-or-cut-bait turning point with regards to my wardrobe especially since we are moving and I have so many lovely things I need to save for 'some day' since they don't fit now. I'm struggling with the decision to donate them all and buy a new, larger, wardrobe so at least my clothes don't look like I'm bursting out of them. It would be a fresh start in a new home.
This winter was particularly hard because I didn't have a coat that fit so had to use a lighter coat despite all the deep cold we've had, and then even it felt too small because it wouldn't go on over all the layers of sweaters. And, despite buying larger jeans, they quickly didn't fit with long underwear underneath. I've gained even more weight since then, and now the jeans barely fit at all. I worry that if my clothes aren't a limiting factor, my weight will spiral upwards even faster.
I'm tired of fighting illnesses, recovery from those illnesses and surgery, and menopause all at the same time, as well as the stress of moving. When I watch my photo screensaver, I see lots of pictures of good times (my trips to AA, NC and Nashville, OK and NM plus the cruise) so I know I have had a good year but I don't feel like I have. There are days when it feels like everything is piling on and the best way to be kind to myself is to let go of the struggle over weight and just focus on being able to walk and do stairs without pain. Hence my temptation to settle for fat and fit.
Wow, what a downer start to the week!
Dee: We heat with electricty and our usage was 30% more than it was last year in February AND the price has gone up as well, so the bill was 50% more (over $150 more in $$ terms) than last year. Really glad we are moving when we are and that the apartment includes all utilities. That's a HUGE budgeting advantage.
EGADS! I just realize I overpay by a month on all utilities so that if I'm sick (again) and miss a payment we don't get hit with late payment charges. I've got to stop doing that now that we are moving or I'll have to wait forever for the utility companies to give me my overpayments back.

Kathryn, I know it's no consolation, but I completely understand where you are, and seem likewise stuck. Just found my Fitbit - had worn shorts on Friday a.m. and left it on those.
A.m. routine mostly done except for what's for dinner tonight? making the bed and clearing kitchen table. My calendar showed meeting at 10:30 not 10 so I hope that is correct. I took ddogs for a short walk.
More irritating emails from newsletter editor directed at webmaster, nattering about why he can't do his job. My issue is with newsletter editor more than webmaster.

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Good Monday all. It is good to come here for some uplifting chats. Even if it is about how our clothes don't fit. ATM I have on the levies that slipped down off when I took DH to the hospital last summer. Now they fit snugly at waist, thigh and seat. I'm so glad to come here for assurances that others are having the same problem.
Yesterday at church I was so discouraged as toothpick shaped people were discussing their weight gain.
I also had a problem with people who I would ask to do something would just wander off (and go home) with the job half finished. Just felt like banging my head against the wall. These are all people over 50 that are acting like spacy teens.
But today is a better day. Dakota and I went for our walk before 6 and had a great time. She alerting on bunnies and me enjoying the morning song of the birds.
Next up is to do the dishes left from Saturday and Sunday and to sort laundry when DH gets up.
Have a great day!

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Count me in on the frustration with body weight. I called and set up appoint with our family doctor to discuss options and/or get a referral to dietitian. The office gal told me it would take forever on the dietitian appoint so she volunteered to ask doc if she could get it on the schedule while I was waiting for my appoint with him next week. Our family doctor approved it so she set it up. She called me this morning with the next available dietitian appointment - July 28th. WHAT?! I don't want to wait 3+ months. Not sure what I'm going to do for now.
This afternoon is LO post-op appoint with ENT doc. LO will also see another doc to get his hearing tested again. I'm going to use this opportunity to also get his nose check from where he got a huge owie about 10 days ago. The swelling has gone down and the bruising has mostly faded --- just a little yellow/green bruising to his nose owie now.
Cards due today = 7
# Cards completed = 86
% Cards completed = 92%

Re: So, Monday. We meet again.
Dehumidifier is out the door. The couple had a PT Cruiser and grandchildren (not with them) so dh sent them off with 2 of our toy PT cruisers as well. Dh kept the largest one that matched the one we had and we'll keep it on the shelf in the new office. It is in our office now, waiting to be packed with the office things.
I've done a few other things. Labeled the boxes in the office, tidied it a bit, had a chair moved to the basement, got something in the garage into a garbage bag to be tossed out, empty the compost container, tidied the kitchen and swept the family room floor. There are still messes all over the place but signs of open space again and a vague sense of organization.
My new computer is on the truck to be delivered today. Now I don't want to go to choir practice! Dh is doing a border run after choir but I won't be able to go if the computer hasn't arrived. If I miss the delivery, I have to wait an extra few days or drive into the city to get it. On the other hand, I'm in the city tomorrow, anyway.
