Feel free to change the title for today!
I'm so very thankful for the rain we have received over the past 3 days. .5" then 1.7" then another 1" last night! It is wonderful to see the ground cover greening up.

Re: Monday PWYC
I'm glad that you're glad about your rain, OK! I think we have thunderstorms moving in this afternoon.
I'm excited for your dgd19 too, Sunny!! What an honor to come back as a chaperone! Dd16 enjoyed her school's band tour in France this past spring! She came home really tired. The school's orchestra is going to China next summer - and she doesn't want to go on that trip.
PODA:
- help out at church kids camp: 8:30 - 12:15? This includes travel time - and I'm not sure when it ends, actually. I'm hoping I can leave when staff snacks (my job) are cleaned up.
- dd16 to oboe trio session 2:25 - 4:20-ish, including travel time. She is going early to get a reed from her teacher for the english horn (belongs to the school) which she has at home now too. Oboe players commonly play the english horn as well.
- take dd16 to and from drumline, 7 - 9 pm
- groc. store
- GG's laundry
- make sure dd18 has everything she needs to leave for Haiti tomorrow
The last 3 will have to be done in between the other meetings/errands.
Dd16 slept over at a friend's house last night. This friend is helping out wiht kids camp, so I'll meet dd16 at the church this morning and just bring her home with me.
Off I go! I'm going to take care of a lol and do teeth and face care before walking out the door.

Re: Monday PWYC
Couldn't sleep in the bedroom last night so moved to the couch (after moving the boxes off it!) The waterbed mattress is off-gassing and the smell makes me feel ill. It wasn't unusable until I remade it so we've stripped it and have a fan running in the room in the hopes that it will off-gas a lot today. The room will have more smells in it later because it needs paint touch up. On the other hand, once that is done (and dry) we'll be able to open the second window and get more air into the room.
I did sleep well on the couch, surprisingly, the best sleep I've had in weeks according to the fitbit. Came back to bed with dh at 6:15 and got up and going around 7:15. The bedroom is ready for the painter, although I'd like to vacuum it first so he doesn't think poorly of my housekeeping skills.
The kitchen is settling in very well and today, while getting my tea and chocolate, it felt as if I was doing it where I belonged rather than making the space work with my old habits. I got the dish rack emptied while the water boiled and did a bit more tidying while the tea steeped. Sitting here at the pub table and looking back into the kitchen, it looks quite lovely. A few things to be 'edited' still - for instance the child's bead on a rail counting toy - but in general feels almost done.
Today's focus will be paperwork, living, and office. Still not sure where we are keeping either the wheelchair or the pram so both are stuffed in the office for the moment. I'm sure the room will feel much larger once they have proper homes. I'm wondering if it is time to give up the wheel chair although it has been so wonderful to have one when it is needed. In no case would I have bothered to rent one, but it expanded options when I felt trapped. The pram is actually my nephew's but at 34 and unattached, I doubt he'll ever use it. I'm keeping it as a sign I believe dd will be pregnant soon.

Hi everybody!
Mike and I went to my dad's yesterday to get my mom's trunk. It fit easily into the back of Mike's car. Now to fit it into our storage area. I was very weepy at the house yesterday, so Mike and I tried to exorcise (sp) my "demons" (very bad memories) We spent a bit of time in my old bedroom, the kitchen and the laundry room. He held me while I sobbed. We also sat in the den and I told Mike about the time that my brother got an Atari game or some other "video" game back in the 70's when the tv was the monitor. As a teen, I spent time in arcades that my family didn't know about. I almost let my secret be known that Christmas morning when I was given my turn at this video game, and I was extremely good at something that was new. Got a laugh out of me yesterday as I was telling Mike about that. Does anyone recall just how slow those games were compared to todays games and graphics?
I need to do a bunch of paperwork today and then we are driving Mike's ex wife to an appointment at the hospital.

Re: Monday PWYC
I am getting a late start again but that's typical for a Monday. Up since 8:30, a good part of a.m. routine is done but I need to get down to work but don't clearly don't want to.
Today I need to go to neighboring rural county seat to get copy of deed for dsis' house and dmom's house. Dmom may have hers but I don't want to alarm her by asking for it. I should finish the report for dsis and take that with me for filing when I go.
I should start by clearing my desk some.....

Slow moving here but steady. The painter is here now for the touch-ups. He's leaving us a can of paint so we can touch up our mistakes in the future (these touch-ups were plaster issues, not anything we did.)
Dh has mounted the guitars in the foyer. We moved the music cabinets over and later today I'll move a bookcase to where one of the cabinets was. That will open up a huge sitting area that currently has nothing but the radiator in it. Sigh. It needs bookcases that will take the photo albums. But I'm not buying new ones.
I vacuumed some of the apartment and it feels a bit cleaner to me. Also cleaned my bathroom sink. I also touched up a lot of scratches in the floors and removed some adhesive that came off box bottoms.
I'm going to head out and solve the bedroom window treatment issues right now. Dh hung the too-short drape in the kitchen eating are window and it will be a relief not to have the sun pounding in on us when we eat. At the same time it is light and close to the wall colour so it tucks out of sight from the main kitchen when it is open. And being too short, it doesn't disturb the items I have on the radiator there.

Good Morning, Villagers!
It's 61.9* here with sunny skies, soon to turn up to 78* this afternoon. The 3 guys are getting firewood, will stack a load here, & I'm playing music, as I relax. Got up at 7 a.m., d2s, will s2s this afternoon. Need to rush in the a.m. w/company here b/c of the guys taking showers, so 1 less shower in the a.m. is good. There's just too much going on in the a.m.
Later, the 3 guys will take DH's wood-getting neighbor-buddy out to b-day lunch & I'll be home, to do LOL b/c when they work in the woods, they get dirty.
Need to work on outline forms by hand today, stories by hand, it's going very slow, but the deadline's July 11. On the news last night, they had a story, which will make a GREAT short story for Halloween, too!
I'm making the main character 1st POV be a 65 - 66-year-old woman. She'll be amazing, use her head, to teach readers how they can use their heads to remain calm during an adversity situation, too. I'm looking forward to writing it.
I ordered yarn for dgd-17.5 months old b/c I'll make her a butterfly sleeve vest for Christmas in 24-months size. It'll match her butterfly afghan, butterfly stuffed doll, butterfly pillow & I guess that's all the butterflies I'm gonna be making for her!
Having fun planning ahead.
My today's cat desk calendar has a Marmalade tabby, hanging on a post, upside down as she clutches the post. It's so funny! I can understand why this cat/pose got "Winner of the Week."
Have a great day!

Re: Monday PWYC
Morning ya'll...
Taking a quick break to make much needed phone calls and peeking in here.
Been up since a little after sunrise....which is around 5am. Drank my coffee while sharing the guest bed with Sadie, TWD. I go in there when I get up early so the tv from the LR doesn't wake up Sweetie. We worked hard and long outside yesterday, with Sweetie doing more than his fair share. Usually I can keep up with him, but not in the heat. Still I worked for more than 4 hours. swimming when my body began to feel the heat.
So far this morning I have done my morning routines, fed doggies and now am working on the house. All the shutter blinds in the house have been washed. I went to get something out from under my master bedroom sink and there was so much chaos under there that I decided to reorganize it. Not on my morning plan but it needed it. Might as well do it while it's on my mind.
I have a dentist appointment at 1pm and then am taking Sadie to the vets. She's being bothered by old age gimps...getting up and down...plus she needs her nails cut. She'll let the vet do it but not Sweetie or me.
Oh and need to take the sheets out of the dryer while I'm thinking about it. Changed and remade the bed this morning as well.
Got dinner planned, need to make the marinade for the chicken. Won't take long and we'll have some tasty chicken tonight.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Guy ;-)
Back to work...enjoy your day. Cya'll later..........

Re: Monday PWYC
Hello everybody. I'm in awe of all the work you all have been doing. I've been a slug the past couple days and done practically nothing. Sat. I went to the beach with DH for a couple hours and despite using sunscreen got a little burned. It was a beautiful day out there and the water was perfect, but the sun zapped my mojo.
LOL ready for dryer. I don't feel like hanging it up this time. Need to go get Rx at pharmacy and put one in for DH (for his dentist appointment in a few days). I did some urgent paperwork but other than that my desk is piling up pretty badly.
Thinking of Sadie and her DSon today, hoping everything is going well.
