"Icy" and "I see" Sunday
We have freezing rain now. Already the living room window is starting to ice up.
And, as Harriet pointed out, this is the first day of the first week of the New Year.
Ask yourself the question, "What to 'I see' for this week that will help me work towards my goals for the year?"

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
I see a week focused on paperwork after I clear out Christmas.
Today's goal will be to get Christmas down.
Harmony: I used to always leave my outside Christmas lights on until the end of the liturgical season of Christmas, Epiphany. So they would be turned on the first day of Advent and remain on until January 6th.
This year, I think they'll be coming down earlier because the bin for the lights goes on the bottom of the stack in the storage locker. Although, perhaps I just need to reorganize my stack of boxes since I need that box first next November.

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
Be careful out there, Kathryn *& anyone else with ice. Know they've had that freezing rain up home too.
In the area of "dumb" I got to thinking about a congregational meeting we had in the spring. I suddenly was very afraid the notes from that were in a notebook still up north. But did I go look -of course not. Finally gathered the courage to look in my present notebook last night. Whew!!! There they were and a second meeting (about our sanctuary/roof project) that was not mentioned in the trustee's report. I do seem to remember that one of those meetings was actually not a 'formal' meeting but more informational. I'll have to glance at my notes to see if I need them both.
I'm coming along pretty well with those reports. Will work on one as soon as we get home from church today. Not sure if we'll go to lunch with the bunch from church or come right home. Depends on the weather -if it's really nice dd and dh will want to get home, get the front door off again and put another coat of poly on it. They put one coat on yesterday and it took all day to dry. The door is a very heavy door and it takes the 3 of them to lift it off and back on. The tackiness was still there until supper time and I'm afraid they didn't get it back on before the mosquitoes came out (there's no storm door). I, of course, have several bites to show for it.
Hoping I didn't hurt dsonil's feelings this morning. I just had a toaster strudel and he was making bacon and eggs -my tummy just didn't feel like consuming that fare.

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
Calendar??? Can one set up multiple Google calendars? I use the one on my phone all the time, but I would like to set one up on my computer for the church.
I just realized I'm running late and have to jump in the shower yet. I have to set up communion this morning.

Our family has google calendars set up for events. Dgds sports events are on it mostly for parents to coordinate.
We got some snow I swept off drive way. It is already starting to melt.36* is the hi temp forecast for today. Not much ice here but we have slush.
Got a new coffee cup that says "don't foget to be awesome".

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
Hi everyone!
I don't see yesterday's weather mess here today. Wayne has a weather station that shows the interior and exterior temperatures and right now it is 4.4 Celcius outside. I just looked up and now it is 4.5 C.
I also don't see any signs of Christmas. Taking down the tree and putting the very few decorations from the tree into a small clear plastic box that fit into the tree box totally cleared our first Christmas away.
I had a dream last night that showed me what needs to be done. Organization of some sort of emergency information kit. A list of emergency contacts and insurance information. Also there was a major hint in the dream that I should consolidate my valuable jewelry in some way. In the dream, our apartment got looted as I stood there and watched.

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
No freezing rain here - just brutal cold with windchills taking the temps down to about -40C (-40F, too). BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
While I'd love to stay home all day, I think I may have to make a run to the grocery store.
I haven't managed to accomplish much yet, today - several cups of coffee, some mucking about on the computer, and a washing couple of loads of dishes. Since this is my only day off until next weekend, I need to make the time count!
Here's my basic 5 X 5 for the day:
- Complete all daily cards
- Finish sewing the kittycat pads that need mending
- At least one hour on schoolwork
- Grocery run
- WATP one-mile workout
First up ...
- get dressed
- upstairs dailies
- sew two kittycat pads
I'm seriously under-motivated today, so hopefully, working in threes will help me get stuff done!

Dear Kathyrn I love your play on words
D mt have a good day
d dee glad you found your notes
d cathy oh what a dream
hi b is sweet hope you enjoy this lovely day off.
hi d nancy..
hi dlucy
d all... have a lovely Sunday!
I am getting confused with too much pre prep, (in my mind) for the new year re: paperwork and calendars... too much decision making - in other words I am not simplifying things in brain and not going to the next right thing - get it down on paper or cards.

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
I'm seeing less of Christmas around here but it is still a big mess. I am placing one item at a time. I'm just too tired to do more than that.
I went online and while I can only get video and no audio, I can see my minister friend so I know he made it to his second service safely. And late. He didn't start announcements until almost 10 after the hour. I had audio up until 5 minutes before 11 and then it disappeared.
I was planning to putter while listening to the service. Now I think I'll just watch another epidode of Guardian.

Re: "Icy" and "I see" Sunday
I see a LOT of Christmas still around here... but I'm not really even thinking of taking it down until Tuesday, at least. I'll have dgs all day that day, but he might enjoy "helping" me put carry boxes back and forth, you know? (Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic.)
But tomorrow will be groceries/errands, so Tuesday it is.
I went to church (alone) this morning. DH still very much under the weather... very much concerned about some issues he needs to discuss w/doctor but hesitates to... he couldn't sleep last night. DS & dgs didn't make it to church either; ddil was working the early-early shift at the hospital.
I also see hope for better organizational skills in the new year. It's a faint hope, frustrated by years and years of failure... but something about the new year still brings hope.
OTOH, right now, I am definitely ready for my Sunday afternoon nap, LOL.
