I would start Feb. 3rds thread but I would probably call it - Tired Thursday That would not help getting all of us motivated, would it.

I woke at 4 am so that I could cook part of the chicken soup.. fortifying the broth first. dd older said she would do the remainder.

so far: one load of laundry washing
I want to go back to sleep.
Next: pull paperwork for today - make xerox's of files i need with
today I am looking forward to having lunch with a young woman from Kuwait. She is very sweet. I just have to learn a couple words in Arabic such has welcome and hello. She has an interpreter who will also join us but it will be fun.

Hmm, well, if you don't want "tired" in the title, how about "Tried & True" -- which is what a sewing blogger I read calls her dress patterns that she has used many times and she knows they are always going to fit her. For our villagers, maybe today is the day to use techniques or make recipes that we know have worked for us in the past, to make at least 1 thing on our lists an easier success.

I missed the entire Monday in our village. Just read Lilac's final post Sunday.

Spent every spare moment yesterday working on my study/lecture for this morning. Have printed out 4 pages in 16-point type and reassure myself that it is only that many pages because I don't want to squint at it. (Maybe this is my Tried and True for today. I learned a long time ago to print notes in a readable font.) Mostly notes, not readings, although there are certainly readings in his book.

I had an experience at the art museum Sunday afternoon that works into the study well, so I intend to use that anecdote in two parts, to break up the lesson. There's a scary/silly part to that, so maybe it will keep things casual and light. I'm also going to suggest that we stand up and stretch between the author's introduction and first chapter.

Did not check the lesson for time. But I'm thinking I can just glance at my watch a few times and keep on track.

Oh, editing now to say best wishes to Twins' Mom on jury duty today.

Harriet! I was thinking of your study leading today. What is it like? Are you up front lecturing? Leading discussions? Both? How large is the group? How much time? --Sorry so many questions! LOL! I'm excited for you. I'm teaching at our moms group on Thursday and I was wondering how it was similar to that or not.

Wow, blessed, you are committed to that soup! I hope you enjoy your time with the woman from Kuwait. Most of the students I've taught at our school are middle eastern, mostly from KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). If I continue there for many more years, I will consider learning Arabic.

Tried and True, good title Booksaver. My tried and true tactic today is to set time limits on tasks so I can move on to the next one and not get bogged down in one. I will also try to limit online time. I spent too much tine online yesterday and hope to be more focused on my IRL tasks today.

Dd16 is out of school again due to poor roads in rural areas and in some neighborhoods. I think with our new superintendent, the district has gotten wimpier regarding the weather.

Here's a quick rundown:
- NY cards progress
- teaching progress: would like to figure out general flow and handout today
- check online bills
- lunch with ds
- work
- perhaps some Hebrew if other tasks are going well
- look at ds' letter
- perhaps one house task from my weekly list
- dinner: chili (frozen leftovers), rice, roasted cauliflower
- perhaps exercise? Doubt I'll have time today.

Off I go to my QT and a.m. routine. . .

I was up at 6:30 and have walked dogs and will be leaving the house in 15 min for jury duty selection today. Noticed that there is a murder trial that begins today that is mentioned on first page of local section of newspaper today.

Both of next door neighbor's garage doors were open and no cars there - texted them and offered to close the house up if needed. I love this neighborhood. It saved him a trip home from work to close up.

Don't know if there is wi-fi at courthouse, may look in later when I'm bored. Need to download some books also...

I'm up, s2s, have meds down, made bed. That's it -had an awful night of sleep (or is that not sleeping?).

Cool here this morning. Guess I need to put on one of my sweat shirt jackets. Dh has suggested going to Plant City later for strawberry something at P arkesdale's. Think of you, Sunny, whenever we go there. Can't even think about what to fix for dinner. Guess I better decide soon so I can get something out of the freezer.

Time for breakfast. First up today will be to order new plates for our car. Can't procrastinate on that any longer.

Good morning!

I'm up. Tea and chocolate are consumed.

Finalized my evening plans for now (weather/driving conditions can change them.) My minister friend is driving 3 hours to his Conference headquarters for clergy appreciation day. Then 3 hours back to have dinner with me at a restaurant half way between our homes. (Our church governance is congregation, charge (sometimes the same as church but in our case we are both part of a 2-point charge), Presbytery, Conference, General Council (national level.)

My Conference is only 2 hours away (and as lay, I only am expected to travel there once a year but have avoided it for 4 years now!) My friend is in a different Presbytery so his Conference is farther but he has to go there several times a year. Today's meeting for him is "clergy appreciation". He said to expect he'll be in a black mood tonight although he will take the time to check out dating opportunities. He's having a hard time figuring out how to meet someone because anyone from his current congregations or past ones are basically off-limits. Yet he needs to meet someone who'll be understanding of the demands on a minister so looking for someone among his cohort is a good idea.

I have a 4 km walk planned for today although it is below 0*F so I may drive it. As well, my new pants are at the store now, my book is ready at the library and the car needs to go to the car wash. I've proposed that I drive dh to pick up Chinese food for his dinner and then drop him at home before heading off for my dinner. He used to have Chinese once a week but since moving here it is closer to once a month because there's no place within walking distance. Once spring comes and he can bike, there are some choices and there's one on the way back from the car wash.

But first, breakfast and bookkeeping.

d Helia... I love listening to this young woman talk. I love that you are learning Hebrew and I think if anyone could learn Arabic it will be you! I admire you love of learning! I still want to finish my sign language classes but I really love to learn Arabic. Dd younger still has her heart on learning Russian. Please stay safe today on your roads.

Our district changed their policy, of taking days off due to weather, after parents threatened to sue the school district. The School District didn't tell parents that the busses would not start on a -13 day and some children, Many middle schoolers and high schoolers waited sometimes for an hour...(grammar school kids knew right away they were cold and went home) instead of using their common sense to go inside and call the school (if their parents were not home). Right now we have had 4 days off... 2 of them were for 0 degree days - that would never have happened before.

d Kathryn good morning. Three hours drive for your d minister day ... it is Clergy appreciation day... shouldn't he have breakfast in bed at his house and have the day off Stay safe on your drive!

I had to make the soup this am because I never made it yesterday. We ate out again, last night, because nothing was prepared. Eating out is impractical because of the cost and by the time dinner andwould be made it would be 8 - 8:30 pm lol. most of all - I am tooooooo lazy -

I asked dh to take the cleaning in today... I put everything at the front door.
He did a beautiful day shoveling yesterday.

Goal tonight: wipe top of the dryer and dejunk it... I put things in a basket for dh to put away in the garage... it's still there but that's okay. I will put it on his work bench instead and then he will do something with it.

it's only 9;30 and I am exhausted... my not going to bed until 10:30 was not a wise idea is there a smilie that is snoring.
