Don't know if this is wise or desperate but I'm writing out everything I have to do before I go away.

I'm on page 3. Letter-sized paper.

Getting overwhelmed.

Great title! And I love all those quotes, Harriet! LOL at some!

Sounds like quite the list, ((Kathryn)). I make lists to make sure I don't forget anything. Do you write down small things that can be finished in a matter of minutes? Maybe making progress with some of those will make you feel better. When do you leave?

I'm up and have:
- let dogs out; let dogs in
- rerun the dw b/c it didn't run correctly last night (cutting board was blocking the space where the detergent is located)
- checked emails
- looked online for a permanent white marker for band uniform use
- written check for oboe reeds and prepped it for the mail
- filled out form for package to be redelivered
- had some QT
- had some tea

Next:
- finish bfast
- s2s and self-care
- finish grading writing exams; 6 left to do
- post final exam grades

Later today:
- type up student paragraphs
- finish plans for today
- Walgreens run?
- look over notes for mentee
- lunch
- go in to work early to hear presentation by colleague at 1 pm; leave around 12:10/12:15
- teach my own class 1:30 - 3:30
- meet mentee at Starbucks across the street from my school, 4 - 5:30-ish
- home by 6:15, I'm hoping
- dinner: leftovers with fresh rice and roasted brussel sprouts

I need to pay some snail mail bills at some point this week. . . It would be nice to exercise again too. I will have no time tomorrow for anything besides moms group, payroll, and then hosting friends for Th. dinner. Friday will be spent getting ready to leave by 3 pm. . . I have a sub to cover my class on Friday, though it's doubtful any students will show up. It's the last day of the session; grades and attendance will already be in, and students will have already registered for the next session. It should be an easy class to sub!

I really loved those quotes... you started my day off on a happy note. Thanks d Harriet!!!
hi d Kathryn sending you a peaceful unstressed day
Hi d Helia a busy day ahead for you - and you started getting a lot done already.. awesome!!!

Yesterday, holding head in shame :D, I took a nap that turned into 2 hours. so not a lot done. But I am well rested :D

today: visit uncle and create a grocery list and a menu plan with him because he is supposed to come home tomorrow.

This afternoon is family time at the pain institute with dd younger... so I have to go downtown around 2 as our trains downtown at this time only travel every hour.
I have to have a talk with the doctor as he told dd younger that he was going to make her walk on her foot and pushed her to the point where she is back a week. He made her walk, stand on that leg, jump on that leg. Common sense and her plan went out the window and her PT and OT and the other staff were furious because all of their work went out the window. She was in such horrible pain last night. I have to go in with a calm but determined demeanor when I speak to the doctor. The have a huge waiting list and I am sure that has something to do with the push.

I
it is always a joy to be here with you!

My computer is acting stupid this morning so I am going to reboot after posting.

Have a to-do list going for today, need to get to grocery and do the desk day things I didn't get to yesterday. But I don't have to show up for jury duty so that's a big plus.

I almost can't believe that I got up at 5:30ish for years and years and had kids to school at 7:10 (in middle school and hs) and got to work by 8:30 or so on a daily basis. It's been a struggle to get downtown for jury duty at 9 a.m. One of the issues is that I didn't used to walk dogs in the morning because before we moved we had a very large lot where they could be outside most of the day, so I didn't feel they needed as much exercise and stimulation. And now I'm walking them separately and Macs is so slow. But it feels so stressful now to have to be somewhere before 10 a.m., unfortunately. The benefits to this change are more sleep, and better sleep (unless I have to be somewhere early) and less stress.

Right now:
-get recycling out to street (in pajamas)
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins
-start a lol
-s2s

Took a break from list making and, in reading my daily websites, thought of 3 more items to add ot the list!

Need to deal with toenail fungus next. Dh claims I have a bruised nail bed but I suspect from my reading it is fungus. Will be doing home-based remedies and then, just before leaving, will cover with nail polish for the cruise. Since I haven't treated it for the past 2 months, suspending treatment for a month won't really make a difference as far as I'm concerned. Looks like it will add up to an hour a day of self care so I'm thinking of ways to multitask during this process. May break down and by a product to treat it. We'll see how much it costs.

Still haven't had breakfast or s2s. So need to do that after soaking my toes in tea tree oil.

Wow, blessed, something is wrong there - sounds like a lack of communication. Who recommended the OT and PT if not the physicians, so you are left with doubts about physicians' belief in their own plan. She's a bright, conscientious patient. But many patients would not be "compliant" (as drs say) any more and just wouldn't show up if going to the dr's office hurts. And the whole plan would stall out, to no one's benefit. Hope you find that there is a reasonable explanation.

Surprised this a.m. by early recycling truck. They are always later in the day, with trash pickup early, but this time reversed for some reason. I did have a nearly full container for them, but was frustrated that some boxes I broke down this a.m. couldn't go. They always get soggy if they wait two weeks out there because wind eventually lifts the lid.

I've had my fruit breakfast and then brunch of a big egg sandwich from the girls. I will hit 1,600 or more calories today. Feeling good after a low (600) calorie day yesterday. Sometimes I just need those to handle bloat or sneaky weight.

Sunshine is also good for it, Kathryn.

Twins' Mom, what a long jury duty experience you are having.

The techno-man is here. (AT&T perhaps). He and HRH are having a confab all around the house, all through the house.

HRH says to him, "Watch out for the attack cat." So I was away from computer a moment defending Tobias. He only "attacks" family to play. He is charming to company, very patient. Sitting there with his paws tucked under himself - right, attack cat.

They're chatting their way back through history now. To Dune now; no wait, Pong.

Good morning, villagers ~
I don't have any meetings today so will be working on the home chores.

Blessedw2 ~ to that doctor! Boo hiss!!

Kathryn ~ Sounds like you're doing a good thing, writing your OMM list to get it all out of your head onto paper -- where you can sort, prioritize, and schedule accordingly.

Loved those quotes too, Harriet. Copied and sent them to dd to brighten her day.

I've spent the better part of the morning looking for a cord that came with an appliance to get Wi-Fi where there is none. Could then show dsisil pictures on my k indle at her house. So far I've had no luck but did find a cord that plugged into it and the other end into my computer to charge it. DD would also be able to use it at her RV for some small projects. Not sure we'd want to be streaming videos or things like that. I had been wondering about an ad that A T T has been airing about rollover data minutes. We don't even come close to using ours because we're usually connected to Wi-Fi at dd's and up home and points in between. I've noticed dh uses his phone a lot more in the car looking at FB, etc. He would be able to use his k indle as well with this appliance. When our new bill came out this month I noticed that it had nearly 2,000 more minutes (?) added to the starting balance. So evidently it already rolls over. I had told dh it would probably come with a hefty price tag -not the case -it's automatic obviously. So he may as well use some of it in the car or elsewhere (as long as he's not on it non-stop).

Going to look a couple more places for that durned cord and then get busy. Hmmm.....I have a plug that the computer flat end plugs into -wonder if that will work. Guess I'll go try it and maybe stop looking.

EDITING TO ADD:
“The older I grow, the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom.”
Case in point -if I'd used "wisdom", I wouldn't have spent all that time looking! IT WORKED! Have the appliance charging and will try it out the next time we go to church or to dbil's. I can get Wi-Fi when we go to my db's. Next trick will be to actually take it.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I got through that li&t with a reasonable amount of energy. Before taking out recycling, I purged magazines in the Gr room and master bathroom, and purged old catalogs from the powder room. We have a basket there that we purge about twice a year that catalogs get thrown into for bathroom reading. Anyway, purging those was something that has needed to be done for awhile.

I ended up walking the dogs instead of s2s because dMacs was so adamant about walking, so at least walk is done. My lower back is hurting now - was a little achy last week but is worse today. Dh is here now with a guy from our homebuilder about the leaky window repair. They "repaired" it, but it doesn't look very professional.

-s2s once dh leaves
-purge refrigerator, make grocery list
-refill meds containers
-reboot laundry
-clear kitchen table
