Saturday Settling In

Post by Kathryn-in-Canada »

So, with the software update, the Village has had a major renovation. It sort of reminds me of when our friends lifted their century old farmhouse, spun it 180 degrees, shifted it back 40' on their lot and lowered it onto a new foundation. Everything inside the house was the same but the views out every window was different and when the dogs heard a car coming up the driveway, they'd run backing to the front door, even though it was now the back door and the driveway (and guest) were on the other side of the house!

Slowly I'm finding everything but it takes a minute and somethings are now hidden under drop down menus.

I've added the only styles available (except for a white on black background one) for now. So you can have some choice in layout but the colour schemes are all shades of blue. As soon as I find some purple, I'll add it!

We were only in bed 6 hours but woke up and couldn't sleep any more.

Will finish packing today and finish my sermon. The service did get completed yesterday. I also got out to the library and picked up my books for the trip. The librarian extended the due date until the day I get home, so I don't have to try and renew online while I'm away. One less thing to worry about is a good thing!

Very stressed here. Hope today turns things around.

If you don't normally check out JC, you might want to peek in today.

Checking in. Hope I have the right home and room. :)

Wondering if the bb.shesorganized.org is permanent or temporary? Hum.....should I change my bookmarks?

THANK YOU Kathryn for generously giving of your talents and time to take care of this forum.

Yesterday I met myself coming & going -
** prep/serving 3 meals
** volunteering for 3 hours at LO school
** hosting FNG (13 attending) in our home
** LO & DGD3 care
** supporting DH as much as I could with MPB being way overloaded with business
** needy DMIL - calling multiple times.

I'm thankful today is a new day. A fresh start. A clean slate. It feels freeing to put yesterday demands behind me and start again. The first 2 hours of my day has been following the cards which allows me to quickly deal with the "must do's" (meal planning, laundry, Personal care)

PURPLE!!!!

I've added another 2 styles.

The first is subsilver2 which puts the user name and avatar on the left side of the page (where I'm used to seeing it.) As well, the submit button is back where it used to be (which is important to me when I get working with muscle memory rather than totally looking at the screen to see what I'm clicking!) The second is subsilver2purple which is the same layout as subsilver but in purple.

I've also found a website that allows me to colorize subsilver2, prosilver, and the two se_square styles.

The process takes me about 10 minutes each colour so if there is a colour you'd really like to have, let me know and I'll do my best to get it installed before I leave.

You can go to this website:

http://www.colorizeit.com/browse/28/php ... tyles.html

click on the style you like and then slide the colorizers back and forth until you get the look you want. It doesn't seem to work with prosilver Special Edition.

To the right of the sliding scale is a number in the circle. When you get the three levels of colour the way you want them, PM me with the name of the style you want colorized and the three numbers and I'll recreate it and install it on our server so you can select the style you want.

There were only 19 of us using special styles under the old software and 5 of us were using a purple style so I don't imagine this will be a lot of work for me but if it becomes too much of a distraction, I'll put off adding new styles until after the trip (I don't want to make changes to the server from public wifi access points.)

Yes, Lady M, bb.shesorganized.org is permanent so you should change your bookmarks.

We had to do it this way in order to keep the boards up even longer. Despite the length of the outage yesterday, it could have been 24 hours longer! It was only once we got the sub-domain up and running, that we could move the boards over. Until then, we couldn't get anything to work, that's why Wednesday evening was not productive, we had tried to move the boards and then move the domain, rather than move the domain (or in this case create a new sub-domain) and then move the boards. Sometimes the order you do things in is critical!

I need to s2s or have my breakfast. And I still need to write that sermon. It actually only needs about 200 more words so is 3/4 done except when I reread what I wrote yesterday, I might think it is all garbage.

I'm getting word from a number of SHEs that they can't get into the boards.

There appears to be three problems.

Can't see the home page
Can't redirect to the boards
Can't log in.

If it is the last option, then you can see this message and email to let me know you can't log in.

If it is the former two, then you can't see this message and I've wasted time writing you.

Helia, Cathyy, and Nancy are the three I'm dealing with now and I think all three are different problems but no one who has asked for a new login password has signed into the boards yet (and there have been 3 so far) so I'm not sure if giving a new login helps.

I've had breakfast and s2s. Hair's still wet, though, and I'm on the treadmill in order to start making up for steps missed yesterday.

On the plus side, putting the regular insoles and my Dr. Scholls orthotics into my new shoes seems to be working as far as not hurting my legs any more than they regularly hurt. The issue is they are hurting all the time now so that has added pain as a distraction to me, along with travel anxiety, the boards not working, no finished sermon for tomorrow. Sigh...

I am safely here! My login issue was not password but username. I used the username by which you referred to me in my email rather than the one I have saved and got in. And updated my saved information.

I think my main mission right now is getting dressed. To my cozy slippers, not shoes. We lived in Asia too long to wear shoes in the house!

Then I have to read through all the instructions for sewing a nightgown for an AG doll. (to match the one I just sewed for my grand daughter, who recently got the doll) The center back bodice and skirt are not lining up the way I think they ought, so I need to see what I do with them later.
