Wonderful Wednesday
I'm now 12 hours ahead of US eastern time zone.
So it is 2:38 in the afternoon here.
Sunny and hot, almost 90.
The second flight felt much longer than the 10 hours it was. I didn't sleep as well and the seat was less comfortable.
I watched The Imitation Game with dh (very good) and Paddington (suprisingly enjoyable.)
I napped/slept for about 4 hours. I struggled to stay up and the flight attendant brought me a salad, rolls, cheese tray from the dinner service (one appetizer, the bread and a dessert) plus the warm nuts and the cranberry juice I had requested. That was enough to fill me up so I could sleep. When I woke up I had a banana and then my tea and chocolate. Finally, breakfast was served before landing and I had lots of fruit, a croissant, and a few bites of omelette and sausage but wasn't starving so didn't eat more than a bit since I wasn't enjoying it.
Our inn hostess has suggested we nap now and as I write this I'm getting more and more tired so I think I might. Although we really have to sleep tonight in order to switch our bodies over to the new time zone. Our dinner tonight is just a few blocks from here so we'll walk and that will get us more sunshine.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Lovely to see Kathryn and Lynlee greeting us today!
I'm up early to see dh off (he would have preferred that I take him to the airport but I begged off) and I need to leave in about 45 minutes to go see dsis today. A long day ahead, partly driving in the rain and I didn't sleep well, knowing that I had to get up early. Dneighbor is coming over this afternoon to let ddogs out for awhile - rain coming down right now so I don't think they will get a walk this morning, and probably not this evening assuming I get home later.
Don't know if I said Happy Birthday to Lord Maverick yesterday!

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Day is done here. Dh is more than done in! I'm bright-eyed and bushy-tailed due to a nap this afternoon.
Delightful evening with our friends. She came and drove us over (short distance) and we walked home. The stars were lovely - we really miss them at home, the city lights are too strong but here on the coast, despite this being a good-sized town and next to Perth, there's much less light pollution.
Enjoyed the sunrise this morning from the plane. We were in middle seats but Emirates planes offer a camera with the cockpit view and another under the plane. The first plane had a third view from the tail over top the plane. I set the screen to show me the cockpit view and there was a black screen. Then, hours later, I came back from the washroom and there was a lovely sunrise!
We'll meet our friends, if we are up, in the morning at a coffee shop and they are driving us to the ship on Friday. They offered and it is only a few blocks so I know it isn't an inconvenience so we gratefully accepted.
Apparently there's a cyclone brewing so I need to keep an eye on that.
Off to bed, or at least to get ready for bed. Tomorrow is a shopping day as well as visiting with our other friends.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
My day was longer than expected. train before 7am. Pre made breakfast last night and ate breakfast when I arrived, and was called into 1st mammogram when I was working out most secure way to tie gown. then a redo of that, doctor1, ultrasound, doctor1 again, needing core biopsy and to come back for that, at front desk I got the msg they could do the additional mammogram/biopsy/site checking chip or whatever they called it (so surgeon can refind area if needed), doctor2 and nurses, dressings, ice pack as my omegas/fish oil could be a problem for bleeding, sat in recliner and had late snack I'd taken,
finally front desk again, and my main bank balance was 'insufficient funds' so a heap of time over that. I finally got phone banking reorganised and got it paid - like that took another hour. Just missed train to city and next one home. Home about 6pm. Walked dog. short block. Just missed dd2 ph call so rang her back.
(She has 2 new bantams with fluffy feet), then called other dd and told her too.
Had cooked double dinner last night so just a reheat on that.
dishes washed.
Expecting ph call with results tomorrow. If needed they'll refer me to a good surgeon up here.
I might just do the babywipes for bath tonight. Feeling a bit of a grot. ice pack stuffed in my bra, not to wet the dressing over biopsy area for 48hrs.
Usually by this time of night I can't wait to have bra off.. I might swap to singlet with bra built in, hoping thats less annoying. teeth time
I wondered about that cyclone possibility Kathryn. We have another one up north, but they are thinking it will head the other way. Hope they are right this time. Hoping the Indian Ocean one stays out of your way too. Remember mainland Australia is similar in size to US, so it is a long way away, hoping you weren't headed north. http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/?ref=ftr

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
good morning! I'm up late; dh got up with dd16 and let me sleep in a bit. I actually fell back to sleep - wasn't sure I would.
Glad to see Kathryn has safely arrived.
((Lilac and dh))
I hope the results are good, Lynlee.
Happy belated birthday to Lord Maverick!
Dh always takes himself to the airport too, Twins. He gets the parking $$ reimbursed, as I'm sure your dh does too. I used to take him until the time he asked me to pick him up late at night. I had 3 little ones ages 4 and under, and I refused to wake them up and load them in the car to pick him up. He was OK with that, and we changed how we did airport runs after that. Too bad about the rain.
It is good to have a plan and goals, nancy! WTG!
I think I'm getting together with dfriend D, our pastor's wife, at 11 a.m. Then, I'll go straight to work and then straight from work to meeting with my mentee. Then, straight from meeting with my mentee to home to help dh make curry (Indian) and roasted cauliflower and heat up some naan bread. Friend will arrive soon after I get home.
News is breaking today in an email to be sent out to our church members: our Sr. pastor has accepted candidacy at a church in Durham, NC. Dh has spent hours and hours over the last 3 years shepherding this pastor once he discovered he was not happy. This involved encouraging him to face his own weaknesses without despair as well as difficult relationships among the church staff. I kept the secret tightly over the years. It has snowballed the last few months, and more people were pulled into the process recently, which dh wanted and found generally helpful. Now, it looks like it is resolving, though not satisfactorily in some ways and not in the way we would like. I guess it's not over until he formally accepts, but I think he'll be doing more preaching over there this spring to give that congregation an opportunity to get to know him, and so, it needs to be public knowledge now. He is a very gifted preacher, so it's kind of hard to think they wouldn't want him after hearing him a few times. D is the wife of this pastor whom I may meet up with this a.m. They told their kids last night.
The silver lining: dh's time will be freed up some. He already fears he has missed hiring quality new grad students for the fall b/c he was so enmeshed in the process, which was taking up so much of his time and energy and mental and emotional space the last couple of months. He needs a break; this is also part of the impetus for our getaway later this month.
Next for me:
- s2s and self care
- QT
- a.m .routine progress

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good to see the start from Kathryn & Lynlee.
I'm also in the waiting room with Harriet, Lilac and Lynlee.
(((Lilac)))) Deep breathe. repeat. Keep posting as much as you can.
(((Lynlee))) While reading your post about the biopsy I found myself reaching for the areas that I've had biopsy done. Not a fun experience for sure! One step at a time, you can do this. I hope the tenderness is better after the ice pack phase.
DH and I are still not feeling our best. Neither one of us thought breakfast was a good idea (stomach queasiness).
Thank you for the birthday wishes for DH. He very rarely touches a computer and doesn't want a smartphone. He did receive about 100 birthday greetings yesterday through my FB, text, phone calls and visits from family/friends. I read the messages to him and he enjoyed them.
