Thanks for opening the thread, Twins'Mom. I will be joining the conga line this morning, and then going out for errands this afternoon.

Harriet ~ Your description of HRH's opinion of the prom dress reminded me of an old book of humorous scientific essays I saw once called A Stress Analysis of a Strapless Evening Gown. (Have I mentioned this in a previous discussion of prom dresses?) I googled it and found a site where someone had scanned and uploaded that particular essay:

My headache continues, and the bronchial congestion. I don't necessarily think the two are related (the headache may be grinding the teeth?) but I"m not at 100%.

Talked to dd for awhile last night - she is looking at jobs/internships/opportunities finally. I was almost asleep when dh got home and didn't get up to talk to him. Had a decent night's sleep.

Today I need to work on temple f/s handouts, the cleaning lady will be here this morning, the dishwasher repair person this afternoon and dd gets home at some point. I need to ck in with her and dh about Shabbat dinner tonight.

Must get busy straightening things up here first. Also, meds for dMoses.

LOL about the backless prom dress, Bookie! Poor HRH, I can't believe that Harriet's dd is all grown up! I distinctly recall when she was three - we have a lot of history together!

H left for work early I got up when he left started coffee. There is plenty for me to do here. They have a big job today and Sat work. One channel was cutting out so I did not watch all of Scandal last night. Net was out too.
2day all is fine.

Having a fabulous day. Got the other front piece of my sweater knit up yesterday. I was SO happy about tha!l

Having some coffee watching the sunrise. Time to journal, grats and mit note book done. Have a great day all!

My health is almost the same as Twin's. Although I've got aches as well. Was hot/cold through the night so suspect fever. Dh touched me this morning and said, "you're warm" while I was reaching for the heating pad because I felt so cold.

I updated Android on my Nexus 7. Maybe it will work better now. After the last update I had to do a factory reset and rebuild it, the battery no longer lasted a full day if wifi was on and it would hang all the time and needed to be completely shut down and restarted once a day to keep it working at all. So I'm relieved to see it has been updated and relieved I didn't have to do a factory reset after the update. Still, that took about 35 minutes from start to finish with me staring anxiously at the screen for a lot of that time. The funny thing about the Nexus 7 is that this is my 'new' device, I bought it from ds who had bought it for his trip but realized it wasn't one piece of tech too much.

I'm having tea (decaf) and chocolate right now. Then maybe back to bed because getting up didn't make me feel any better.

What an entertaining engineering article, BookSaver! (no, you hadn't shared it...at least I had not seen it before) I will definitely show to dd, at least, although I agree Daddies may need to be spared! Was already thankful that she only wanted the one with the cut-out back, but after reading this I'm even more grateful for that vital little button at the back of neck!! Just having the back to puzzle over seems lots easier after reading about the vertical and horizontal forces in play when a strapless gown goes to a dance.

Twins' I am hoping to join you in the Conga line (as Nancy says, "plenty to do here"), even though I am also joining you in the bronchial confusion line. Sigh. I suppose I am now on this inhaler again "for the duration".

Oh dear, now hearing that Kathryn is right there with us. I thought hers was fleeting.

Great news coming out of the hospital this morning. We may be visiting our granddaughter at home soon!

Kathryn thought hers was allergies. So she's really annoyed.

As for the backless dress - have you thought of using duct tape instead of a bra? You put the tape on a towel first, rip it off and then onto the skin to cup the breast. Just an idea. I'm sure you can google this (I saw it demonstrated on a women's show one time and filed it away for me but I've nursed for too long to be able to use this tip, I need support.)

I checked with the retirement home and they said I can cancel up until Saturday night, they'll put out signs.

I need to eat something for breakfast. I'm not hungry, sign I'm sick (I'm never not hungry!)

Dd16 wore a backless dress to homecoming last fall. Unfortunately, I was out of town the evening of the dance, so I didn't get to see her entirely put together. Honestly, I was not thrilled with her choice, but other than that, it was very modest. I guess I'd prefer plunging in the back to plunging in the front. I don't remember what she did about the b - ra situation. I think she bought/borrowed one that kind of tapes on or something. . .

Happy your dd16 is going to prom, Harriet! Would love to see pics, but I know you are very private.

No prom for dd16 here. It is a seniors only prom, and she has not been asked.

Actually, there have been no romantic relationships among any of my kids to date. Ds has an interest, but it's not clear if the interest is reciprocated. Dd16 has a special friend, the young man with whom she went to homecoming, but they are only friends. They express their friendship by sending each other "romantic" videos of screaming frogs (they do exist, apparently) or crazy goats. . . . He is Indian (from India), which I find interesting. He is not allowed to date right now, which is OK with us. They are on drumline together in the fall.

Twins, is dd still going to Israel this summer? Or is she going somewhere else to do an archaeological dig?

I got up late today. Dh is getting up early to get his body on European time. I'm having a lazy morning, but maybe that is OK after being out of the house 8:30 a.m. - 6:10 p.m. straight yesterday. Dh has already been out and run 10 miles.

I have s2sed, had tea, checked emails, looked at supplementary materials for one class, finally unpacked my suitcase from last weekend's trip, and put away some wool sweaters.

Helia, dd is going to do a six week archaeological dig project based at Aquaba Jordan, which shares the border with Eilat Israel on the Red sea. She's getting excited about it and is trying to figure out what she will do when she is done. The professor that leads the trip is encouraging her to spend some time in Israel - the professor can't go with dd into Israel but we have friends, acquaintances, and family (altho quite orthodox) there. I think that dh and I are hoping she will do a Masa program in Israel http://www.masaisrael.org/ the offerings include a wide range of opportunities. We've had two friends whose daughters went on Masa - one was teaching English in Israel and the other traveled and studied with and shadowed an Israeli neurologist.

Neither of my kids have had romantic relationships, either, Helia. DD has friends who are guys (from what I can see) but ds really keeps to himself. He's comfortable talking to dd's friends but I think isn't quite ready to talk to women on his own.

I don't know whether I'm running a low grade fever or not. After having coffee and oatmeal, my temp has been registering as a low grade fever but I'm not sure how much the coffee and oatmeal has affected my mouth temp.

I think I will run out to the vet to pick up meds and to Petsmart for dog food while dcleaning lady works her magic.

If I play my cards right, perhaps I could be sick enough to skip the temple annual meeting on Sunday afternoon and just send a written report. Dh suggested the other day that we plan an "urgent" trip somewhere and skip it. I am simply over it and am thinking I would just hibernate.

Sounds like interesting options for dd, Twins. How is her spoken Hebrew? I'm glad my kids aren't the only ones slow with the relationships. We do want grandkids some day. Not any time soon, but eventually. . . . . LOL!

Just read a little more closely about the backless dresses -- dd16's dress also has a hook at the base of the neck that likewise made me feel a bit more comfortable. LOL! I think I was more worried about the dress than dh.

Not much to report. I am s2sed. Dh and I have decided that we will eat leftovers at home tonight. It will be easier with his packing.

Off to work on the a.m. routine. I need to start putting the quiz together at 11 a.m.
