Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Yes, also in the virtual waiting room. I prayed for you both and the Drs. this a.m., Lilac.
I'm up, have had had bfast, checked emails, written several emails, had a QT, made a list for the week - now that it is halfway over
, and made a li$t for today.
I got sucked into one of dd16's fun books yesterday and didn't get much done. It was great to renew my interest in reading, though. I need to get some quality literature on my summer reading list; I still want to read Daniel Deronda and The Picture of Dorian Gray. I've read George Eliot before but not Oscar Wilde.
Next - finish a.m. routine
- s2s and self-care
- reclaim kitchen
- fold and pa small load of whites
- make bed
Later - before I head out to work
- quick errands at nearby shopping plaza: Trader Joes, pet store, postal place
- spiff the living areas; S' parents are coming for dinner tonight with R and baby J. They are here to help while S is out of town.
- set up breadmaker
- prep for class
- prep for dinner; I won't be home until about 6:15. We have 4 friends joining us for our Wed. dinner crew. After 6:15, I hope. . .
- exercise; either go for a jog or walk to work.
After work:
- help dh get dinner together: chicken cacciatore over rice, salad, bread
- host dinner
- clean up
- prep moms group child care staff cards
- prep moms group child care staff room lists (the moms often forget the names of the teachers in their children's classrooms)
- prep for Th. class?
- work on my syllabus?
I'm off to s2s.

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Great start, Dee. I'm glad Lilac knows we are waiting along with her.
I'm finally to the point in the morning where I can post.
Got an email yesterday from the national church encouraging us to ring our bell 90 times on June 10, starting at 10:30 because it is our denomination's 90th birthday at that time. I put together a community involvement plan and forwarded it to our minister to bring up to the board. It is also the 120th anniversary of our church building this year and June 14 is our Anniversary Service so there's a lot of ways we can pull this event together as part of our mission statement "To be an active Christian Presence in the Community." Historically, our church building is significant to the community, even if it is just used on Sundays now. For instance, the bell used to be rung in case of emergencies, in the days before phones (and even after since before cell phones, the men working in the fields wouldn't be home to get a call.)
I have a long lunch 'meeting' today. Meeting is in quotes because it is more a social get together than a proper meeting. There's nothing pressing on our agenda right now and we have two members leaving the committee so we decided to meet over lunch to honour them.
Aside from that, my day is open, except I'll head over to IKEA at Twins' suggestion.
Chicken leftover for dinner tonight.
Still not dressed. I got up late. Had a better sleep last night according to my fitbit. Back up from 55% to 71% efficiency.

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
I'd be afraid of what a Fitbit would say my sleep # was, Kathryn.
I fell right to sleep last night, but awoke 20 minutes later until after 3. At 6:27 dBailey started barking.
So was awake again. I did doze some time after 7 till about 7:45. I was just lazily starting my day when dBailey started raising a ruckus. Aha! Roofers were here. DD told me they wouldn't need to come inside, but of course they did. Oh well. Had to go move my car. They're trying to fix a spot around the chimney. They had a new roof after all the hurricanes back in ???? =forget the year. Different times they've had leaks there into their hallway. It's been fixed 2 or 3 times -sure hope this is the charm.
There's work dd wants to do on the interior but doesn't want to attempt it until that spot is truly fixed. She wants wood floors, crown molding and new counters. Dsonil doesn't see the need, but she's decided that with his new job they probably aren't going anywhere real soon and she'd like to enjoy those changes. Figures they won't lose on the sale either. However she would like to move away from here before gd16 is 'out in the world'. We all have our 'fears'.
Had to get the lamp from the bedroom and plug it in the bathroom. Knew the overhead lights were flashing when they first came on and today it was a constant on/off/on/off. Mostly off. So I'll put the lamp in there for now. I had mentioned it to dd last week and she told dsonil. But whether anything happens before dh and I come back in the fall remains to be seen. I won't 'nag'. I can get by with the lamp. Realized how dusty it was so now am trying to clean all the crevices on it.
I hesitate to ask this but is anyone else having trouble posting? Seems like mine (and it may just be me) just goes and goes before it finally posts. Had this problem before Kathryn 'fixed' the slower board, but I tend to think it's just me on this site.
Off to a PODA -I simply do not do well without a l&&t!!

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Sent up a little prayer upon hitting the alarm, Lilac (smile - paper rattling was my reminder) and sending one now.
School run done, but I don't know how long dd will stay there. She has an initial interview today with a prospective employer's intern (irony - a high school intern hoping to impress a grad-school intern) and even though it is at school, she'll be told when to go home, dress appropriately (again) and come back.
I've done 30 mins exercise.
Today I'd like to finish up a couple Desk Day needs. They just go on and on these days.
Next up, breakfast.

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Quiet day today with dd's graduation tomorrow - will be a full busy day from leaving here early to supper after graduation. Next week, on Tuesday, dd and I are leaving for genealogy conference, coming home on Saturday, then leaving Sunday for a week at the beach. This will take me up to Memorial Day as the next day I am home for the day.
PODA for today:
-home sweet home!
-desk day from yesterday
-yard and plants
---get tomatoes into the ground
---annuals by the firepit
---water and fertilize everything
-I wouldn't mind having some stamping time today
-what else?
Don't know dh's schedule tonight - am not planning to cook dinner at this point.
We had a lovely time last night with former dneighbor from the mountain. She brought envelopes for dkids and stayed for supper. A very good visit and a lot of history with her and her family. I was busy from the time I sat down to work on temple treasurer things yesterday until I cleaned up the kitchen from supper last night. From temple called dneighbor, stopped and grocery, came home and started cooking. Dh actually grilled the chicken and corn on the cob, but I had avocados, lettuce, tomato and a taco sauce to dress up the tacos. The chicken was grilled on skewers with sweet onion.
Kathryn, I hope that you find some plants at IKEA - of course plant season there may be later than ATL, but they were fully stocked on Sunday.
Keeping Lilac and her dh and family in my thoughts today. Will come through the virtual waiting room often to check!
Wed is usually errand day for me, but I stopped at grocery yesterday and ds went as well. I need a trip to Tar-jay to see if I can find a new kitchen garbage can - after adding the IKEA storage to our pantry closet the round garbage can doesn't fit.
Right now:
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins, me + dMacs
-clear kitchen counters
-empty the dishwasher
-start a lol

Your support means the world to me. Surgery started at 8 and may last 4 hours. Will let you know when it's over.

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Dee: I was afraid to ask too. The boards do seem slower for me as well.
I'm s2s. Completely forgot we'd have no hot or cold water from 9 - 4 so getting into the shower at 10:15 was risky! I used only the hot tap. Turned off after I wet my hair and shampooed it and soaped my body, then rinsed. Got hotter water that time and no sign of it letting up so I used conditioner too. It might just have been the water from the pipes above me coming out - don't know. Anyway, I'm clean. Hair usually gets two shampoos but I'm not going anywhere tomorrow so will make do with it being dirtier looking tomorrow. I have dry shampoo to use.
In the meantime, my 12:30 lunch time is confirmed. Still no idea where. Thankfully, I'm driving so have until noon to find out where. I feel sorry for the guy who is busing/walking.

Re: WELL WISHES WEDNESDAY
Good morning everyone! Last night, DD13 and I went to the library for Girls' Night Out and ate spaghetti at home. We figured out the food for the camping trip and I made a camping list. After this trip, I am going to put the list on the computer so I will have a template for the future. I also got the immediate webwork done.
This morning, I nearly missed the train, because as I left the house, I noticed Briggs had an injury on his paw. Once I was actually able to look at it, I found it to be the equivalent of a scraped knee, but it put me behind. I am trying to reschedule my Denver trip this summer with DD. The only person I know there will be out of town the week I chose! Once I clear it with the x, I need to clear it at work (not likely to be a problem).
Tonight, I will be picking up my new (to me) car and leaving my old one. I always feel bad about the latter, like I am abandoning a faithful pet. Ridiculous, I know. Then, I will take my new vehicle to Petsmart for cat litter and to the grocery store for food for the campout and for general stuff I need. It will be an EXPENSIVE grocery run! Must also do a LOL for the trip and continue packing and organizing. Now that I have the car, I can move the stuff from the staging area in DD's room directly to the car. I have to take so MUCH for a weekend. It all boils down to sleeping stuff (tents, sleeping bags, pillows), chairs, clothes, and food. But it all takes so much SPACE and has to be lugged about. I guess I could do without the pillows, crochet bag, and book. However, the crochet bag and book are in the car at all times anyway. If all goes well, I will also change the hotel reservations for the summer.
Still have to crisis clean in case my brother comes to the house tomorrow. Also, don't want the pet sitter to think I have a pigsty rather than a cathouse.
Thinking of Lilac and company.
