Sunny or Stormy Saturday?
Or in my case - both!
The weather is lovely now. Later today will be storms. Which may ruin the solstice party I'm going to since the idea is to go watch the sun set. If the storms roll in earlier, it will also ruin the Italian Festival that I'm going to.
But first, I need to get a move-on and write a sermon. The reading is about a stormy night on the sea. Hope I can get that written quickly so the rest of my day will be sunny and free!

Re: Sunny or Stormy Saturday?
Thrilled to have a rainy morning here, it's been so hot and sunny and we had rain overnight, in addition to the sprinkler running. Trouble is, the newspaper landed at the perfect angle to funnel rainwater in and soak the paper. Could read several sections however, and may look at the rest online later.
I don't know why I got up at 7:30 today. Most Saturdays I sleep later and I certainly was worn out last night. Was a long day yesterday to see dsis - road construction also made for some very slow moving traffic in addition to the usual ATL rush hour Friday afternoon traffic. Left home at 9:30 and got back at 9 p.m. - stopped off at the Honda dealership (replaced headlight only) on my way out of town was quick stop, spent two hours w dsis, stopped at outlets for about 25 minutes, and at 7:30 or so stopped for supper and ate in my car and surfed online a bit instead of driving while eating.
Today I have a wedding shower this afternoon - need to deal with some kind of gifty something. Couple is already married, second marriage for both and suggested gift "a cutting from your garden or a favorite recipe." I think I'm going to print up a recipe and perhaps mount on cardstock with some stamping....if I can get creative. Also need to round up Father's day something for dh - the expectation here is that the mom does the purchasing of a nice gift. I meant to have dd buy and sign a card before she left but didn't make it happen.
Lots of thinking on discussion w massage therapist on Thursday re: all the transitions my life has had - recently losing ddogs, kids graduating and underfoot, transitioning out of temple leadership - and trying to cut myself some recovery slack. Dreamed about dMacs night before last, I miss him so much. Was it RR who mentioned snuggling with her therapy dog yesterday?

Sunny here! No storms in the forecast. Nothing but sun and heat (mid 90's) for our extended forecast.
((((Twins))))
Today is the end of an era for LO. Today is LO's very last T-Ball game. Ever. T-ball is play through 6 years old, so next year he will move up to coach pitch. I need to decide whether to rid of his T-Ball stand or keep it around for solo practice hitting.
Next up - prepare breakfast (Corned Beef hash with eggs)

LadyM: won't he quickly outgrow the t-ball stand? He is already pretty tall. Glad you have sun in your long-range forecast - you certainly don't need any more rain!
(((Twins))) You forgot dealing with your mother and getting you dsis' house sold in the list of transitions/stresses in your life.
I'm dressed now. Skipped my exercises this morning (hopefully will do them before we go out tonight) and am giving myself a pedicure now. Since I have to sit still for long periods of time, I'll all set up on the recliner couch with my laptop and lots of water to sip on. It is time to write a sermon!

Re: Sunny or Stormy Saturday?
Weather does turn out to be a big story here, since this is the week we will cross the 100 mark. Dd's fellow students were dropping like flies last week with all the walking they did, and couldn't believe the forecast was for a hotter week this week. We broke two record highs up to 99 while they were here last week and I think many were ready to get out of the heat and home, depending on where that was. I believe on Tuesday we are expected to break a record high from 1988.
Speaking of walking... ... hmmm... my hip and calf are giving me fits today and I think it's because of all the walking yesterday on the campus brick paving in their crosshatch pattern. That's all I can think of - I don't believe a walk on regular terrain or on smooth surface would have done this .... ? Dd keeps nodding and saying that's how she got shin splints through the week. Possible
Dd is more herself today, thank goodness. (smile)
Dstepson's family will be visiting with us this afternoon.

Re: Sunny or Stormy Saturday?
Sounds like we're all unusually hot this week. I must pay attention to the heat index on our local news today to see why I have been so uncomfortable lately. When the DGKids were here I put the a/c down 2° and that little bit of difference made it unbearable to go outside. The heat never bothered me like this before, I wonder if I'm just getting old!
I'm hoping for a nice heavy rain today so I don't have to go out and water all the grass seed. That's a lot of work. Last week I always hoped the rain would hold off because DH was working outside...today he's inside someone's house, so it can rain away.
I've brought in the last of the laundry. A bed needs made and a LOL needs folded.
I worked on piles of papers at my desk and got them somewhat organized.
Stayed up way too late last night and I'm tired today. I had it in my mind that I didn't need to go to bed early because today is Saturday...I should know better!

Re: Sunny or Stormy Saturday?
Good afternoon friends! I'm doing better today, but I'm still not super focused. I actually woke up at a decent hour, about 7:15, but I didn't get up until about 8:45. I lay in bed completing some Sudoku puzzles I like that have a 3D configuration (on paper), shaped like rubiks cubes - or like rubiks cubes with various sections missing, if that makes sense. Anyhow, I have s2sed, had a QT, cleaned up the kitchen, had lunch, replied to an email from dsil#4.
The weather here is cool and gray. We had some sprinkles earlier. This is perfect weather for a jog, which I hope to do later this afternoon.
Dd19 sent me a couple snapchats from Japan. Apparently the staff at the hotel where they're staying think dd19 and dh are married because they gave them a small bowl of candies at their table with the words "Happy Wedding" on one. LOL! Either that or their English is very bad, but I would suspect in the tourism industry there, one's English would need to be OK, good enough to understand "happy wedding."
Next:
- start laundry; not much since it's just the 2 of us
- finish a.m routine (teeth care and make the bed)
- call dfriend to debrief from our meeting Thursday morning
- go get the oil in my van changed; also need 2 lights replaced.
