Memory Monday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Today is apparently "National Memory Day." I give you a link for the day: https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/memory-day/

What memories do you have of this group? or of taking care of your home and family? or of your parents and housekeeping?

This group and its forerunners have been part of my life for so long! I so appreciate the support and memories here. There were days when my dkids were in the first grade that I went to school to volunteer, had lunch with them, and then came home and did a.m. routine.

I wish I had gotten myself up this a.m. earlier. I wish I had been able to get up earlier this morning. Since the time changed I've been MIA as far as waking up - it's in part the effect of getting up in the dark, and way back in the day when dkids were younger and I worked outside the home, I was always up early. OTOH, I did take more daytime naps. ;)

I'm finally moving on a.m. routine and breakfast now...

I've been here so long it's hard to remember some of it. But, the sisterhood here has always been a place to be in the storms and in the joys of life. You've always been here for over 25 years. I clearly remember using the computer at the Ronald McDonald House in Dayton OH and being warned of "sharks abounding". Hopefully we've been able since then to thwart that aspect. That was way back when DGS was probably 3 or 4 at the most -he's now 28. Can't imagine not having this safe haven.

Dh left early to go visit his DB in the hospital. I know he's really tired.

Just finished breakfast. We plan to clean out 2 refrigerators today. One in the kitchen and the other is on the back porch. Wish I could figure a way to get that one from the back into the laundry room. But I doubt it highly.

Have a LOL in the dryer. Figured I'd do laundry today since I usually do it on Tuesday. And tomorrow is my date with the dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction at 9:30. I'm trying not to be nervous. I do know who's in control!

DD posted some beautiful pics from their room and dining in Bermuda last night.

Reminds me I want to go to the court records and see if there's anything from T's hearing last Tuesday. So far we haven't seen anything.

And then I keep looking to see if our Federal return has hit our bank account yet. Wouldn't be wondering yet except DD who filed Saturday, the 5th had her return in her account on Tuesday, March 8th. Impossible says I. But there it was!
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good Morning!

Mystery - Thank you for sharing your salt spa experience!

Twins - Thank you for the start today and the stroll down memory lane.

SHE's have been a part of my life for 25 years (since 1997). I am so incredibly grateful for the encouragement received and the life skills I have learned.

I woke up 15 minutes late today because I forgot to turn the alarms back on after spring break. I was a joy to see that DD10 had woken up on time and was getting ready all by herself! I woke DS13 up and he got started on homeschool assignments.

I have completed routines #1 through #5. I'm working on routine #6 & #7 now.

Hi to all our memorable villagers.

Headed back to last evening's post from me to just go through my 5 (I think) for today.
"3 things" or "5 things" written is a way, learned here, NOT to have trouble with Memory. :)
I usually do this in actual writing, of course, lol.

I've just returned from picking up grocery order.

My reward later today will be playing in the dirt a little bit.

Homeschool in progress....Math and science assignments are finished, graded and spreadsheet updated. ELA and history are about 50% completed and graded. DS13 is working on the other assignments now. If he stays focused, then we should finish by noon.

It is raining! This is so welcome to the dry crunchy grass in the pastures. Hopefully, this rain will be enough to end the horrific fires we have been experiencing.

DH just left to check on his DMom. She told his DSis to "get out and leave me alone". This is the second time in 48 hours that DMIL has demanded that DSiL leave her home. DH and I both feel like DMIL isn't being unreasonable. We feel like DSIL is taking advantage of DMIL and causing her distress. DH focuses on what is best for his DMom.

Quick post.... I've been here for about 20 years actually this month sometime is the anniversary. I remember it because it was after Mom died that I joined. It is surprising to me that I'm so much an introvert and love my alone time and don't mind being alone and doing things by myself...but for this it is invaluable that I can live this part of my life in a group! A few times I've started to walk away, trying to get back some time...and I couldn't do it. I may be here forever!

Slept in a bit but I'm catching up now. Have done a bit of my study... 1 LOL hanging up... most of morning routine done. Paid a bill online, need to order a supplement I buy online so will look at that next.

Have a nice day!

quick post as well - it's wild here.
At 7 I got the couch and the kitchen table put in 3 season room (all by myself wow weeeee)
dh is going to be staying at a hotel and has been in shock but so much better than I expected. I can't find one of the cats

turns out that I will be doing 2 other rooms (dd older and dd Youngers old rooms)
I called a painter and waiting to hear from him
I called someone to wash our walls after they are gone

I need to move the movers and the I pod to another day if the painter can come in.
I have a plumber coming tomorrow to shut off our water to the fridge and the dish washer

keeping my fingers crossed that I can undo dd Youngers bed. - dd Youngers bed may have to be cut apart bc when whomever put the bed together stripped all the screws and there is no getting it undone.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

it's been a wow of a day!!! constant work!!!
I so wanted to say : hello!!!!!
dh is in shock but doing so well!

the men that moved scratched my table but I can't prove it bc I didn't take pictures ahead -
and oh my gosh is there dirt under where everything was - especially dd older room - nothing has been moved in 20 + years

I have to see what I can do about dd's bed - dh couldn't undo it.

I am starting to slow down and shouldn't be.

I fed the movers
and then picked up polish food for the wood floor gentlemen - we have a great polish store by us.
I think they are happy.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
