Good morning, all!

I'm planning my week, dh is planning to have friends over for dinner this evening. ----Whoops, didn't work out.

I have laundry going and nearly have kitchen straightened up from us not doing anything yesterday. Of course, dh wasn't home much. I worked until eleven last night, he got home just a little later and I stayed up too late. So I'm slow getting moving today.

I'm straightening things back up today, advancing the laundry, getting a handle on the week (Dh away from Wed - next Sunday at the Masters golf!)

Yes, sunny here as I went to get early morning groceries. Back home, HRH brought in all the groceries so that worked out fine.

I also carried the package, sent to dd42 by mistake, to the church in a plastic bag in case of rain and put it at the back door where some other mail was already hanging on the doorknob.

Last evening when dd23 had her late arrival to revive the bday party, dstepdil made a mini-cheeseboard for refreshments. She'd just finished a communications class assignment in which she had to be videoed giving instructions on preparing it, which I find amusing for a student aiming at paralegal.

The sun I'm hoping for will be tomorrow when dd23 and I have at least part of a day out together.

Ds and family are camping somewhere. By the end of the week, when they are home, dd42 and family will be visiting her in-law family, staying with her dsil and dbil who have two little kids. Dd23 is staying at her house, then, all weekend, to decompress and to be there for her puppy-niece.

Dh went out to get his car washed and I am upstairs.

This week I'm going to average 5K steps daily. That's enough to get me out of the house for a couple of laps here but not change my day that much. Small steps. Dh and I walked a couple of laps earlier.

Our supper will be some Turkey burgers with spinach, feta and red pepper that dh found at Costco. Neet to add some slow carbs and maybe a salad.

Online service was meaningful. I must admit I was glad, though, that the regular senior pastor preached this time and the whole service came in at about an hour, rather than the full hour of sermon alone from the visiting pastor last week.

Ted Talks, I suppose, have taught us that we human folk are good with 20 minutes but after that, well, only human! (smile) I can imagine that the children in the pews last week were squirming and the adults were jealous they didn't have an excuse to squirm, since it's not what they are used to. I can't say this to HRH, because he will immediately launch into one of his "when I was young" speeches about hours of sermon and then lunch and then hours of sermon to make sure you got the morning point.

HRH is disappointed that his candy was unavailable and the substitute was ... .. Red-Hots. He'll definitely go through those slowly! I used to be able to eat those little burners, but these days they hurt my mouth - no, thank you. Anyway, he did get one bag of Russell Sto ver (he gets the sugar-free).

He carried another bag of raised-bed planting mix to the beds, a gift dstepson left in our trunk when we were at the party yesterday.

Home from the final bike race of the weekend. I am so very thankful to have this time with DS48 and DGS15. It is a memory that I will treasure.

I looked at the calendar for next week and I am relieved to see some blank spots. Last week was waaay over the top too full so I am thankful to have a pace that is easier.

We left too early this morning for me to do my normal routines so i am going to pretend that I am just starting my day.

Sunday school is not avalible at my church. I went to in person church.
Tried to do pizza for lunch nope only dinner now. Had a serving from a can of chili & hb patty.
Walked the dog.
Burned limbs in fire pit that chore is mostly dne now yea!

This has been a 'laid back' kinda day! We all went to church this morning. Dsonil said he didn't feel like getting ready to go and DD told him: "Get up, shower, and get ready to go". He did. He's unfortunately becoming way too lazy. She's been talking to him about it and how she hates the fact that he's sitting in his recliner A L L D A Y L O N G. (And scrolling on his phone.) I can see him becoming depressed too. She asked him if he wanted her to make a list of everything that needs doing around here. It's not that he doesn't do some things -once in a great while- but he needs to be moving more!!! He complains he's stiff and sore when he does move -ya' think?

Just got dh's phone hooked up to the speaker phone on our car and hopefully it'll work for him going home next week. DD had asked DS-R if he wanted to go to the hockey game in Tampa Friday night but he said he'd rather just relax a little bit. He and dh have been tossing around when they'll leave. Originally it was Sunday morning. Then DS called and asked if I thought dh would be opposed to leaving early Monday morning -like 5.

Dh did talk with his boss yesterday to touch base on what is happening with him here. Boss knew about Dsisil's passing but didn't know anything was happening with DBIL. So at least he understands why dh is staying right now. We're hoping he'll be able to go home from the hospital by Friday. Big thing is being able to go to the bathroom on his own. He has a catheter and I guess he had a really bad time last night. Whoever was putting it in was having a hard time and I guess she just was trying to 'ram it in'. DBil finally told her not to come back in his room. Another nurse came in and got it right in easy.

Our church up home was zoom service this morning as the Pastor now has Covid. Hoping no one else was exposed.

This is going to be a very busy and tough week. Know DD has hockey games Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri. Dh will have games Wed & Thurs nights as well in Orlando. I need to figure out everything that needs packing and get that done. We're sending up the 'family cradle' in our back seat for DGD27. They're expecting their first in June and she's looking forward to having this very antique piece of furniture. There's not a nail or screw in it. All wood pegged. I'll not be getting up there much before she's due. And that all depends on what I find in flight info. So far it's either way too expensive or way too early in the day on the days I could be taken to the airport by DD. And that's what I really prefer -don't want to make the trip with dsonil if I can help it. I really dislike riding with him.

Sorry -I'm complaining.

Just printed out our bank statement with this address. Needed to prove this one when I go to open a new bank account.

Sunny day here too -- but kinda cool and breezy. Not enough to need a jacket until the sun went down, though. I'm not complaining.
Just found out dgs has two ballgames next Saturday morning, starting at 9:00 a.m. After a low of 35 Friday night, I know it is going to be COLD when we get him to the ballpark at 8:00/8:30 a.m. Brrrrr... And y'all know, after you've had a few warm days, the cold feels sooo much colder!!! I am sooo glad I bought those flannel lined jeans. Even if they do ride down and give me the proverbial plumber's look... I just wear long sweat shirts and jackets.
I know some of y'all are thinking, well, doesn't dgs have PARENTS??? WHY is lucy having to get out on a cold morning like this? Well, of course, there's no way dh or I would miss one of his games if we could possibly get there -- but -- yes, his parents will be working. DDIL rarely gets home from the hospital before 8:00 a.m. on her work days (nights)... and ds will be out of town. Other grandmother works nights, and I'm just hoping other grandfather will get dgs ready to go and we can just pick him up and be on our way. (I don't expect other gf to go without gm or ddil.)

Anyway -- it has been a normal, busy weekend for us, but unexpectedly, ddil called in sick to work tonight and dgrands are back home. No early morning for me tomorrow! (Dgrands go back to school after their spring break.)
DDIL is feeling a little strain after her first night back at work after surgery Wednesday. She thinks she probably over-did it a little, working 12-hours on the 3rd night after surgery.

Ha! I need Dee's dd to come urge me on in the mornings.
I have set goals for April -- kinda the same as before -- but giving myself some "rules."
1. NO PHONE/FB/NOT EVEN SHE's until I have exercised, weighed & recorded, s2s, and set one task plan for the day.
2. NO SITTING DOWN TO READ THE PAPER until I have spent at least 5 minutes on said task. ^^^ (This is my hardest part of the day!)
3. START BEDTIME ROUTINE no later than 11:00 pm. (I get a little alert via FitBit at that time, so it's a good reminder.)

I guess my 2nd hardest part of the day is mid-afternoon, when it seems, no matter how much I slept, or what time I got up, I get sleepy again. This may be a blood sugar drop based on poor eating earlier in the day... so I'm trying to be more mindful of that, too. And if I get started on that TASK, I may distract myself from eating a little bit.

What is your hardest part of the day? The time you really have to push yourself to keep from falling into YOUR recliner and doing nothing? Maybe y'all don't have that problem... but Dee's dsil and I sure do.

We all went to church this morning -- well, I mean, dh and I and the dgrands. We went to ds/ddil's and got dgd, dgs was already with us. Our preacher told us he will not be coming back after June -- it's annual time for re-appointments in the Methodist church -- and he is taking a "sabbatical" and they are moving closer to family. However, our NEW preacher has not been appointed yet, so we have to wait a few more weeks (he said) to hear who we will be getting. So -- we are prayerful that we will get the right person and maybe our church can finally get back on its feet and see some growth and return to our pre-Covid numbers.
Speaking of Sunday School, Nancy -- we only have an adult class, and it is made up of adults my age and older. NOTHING for young adults ds and ddil's age. We lost them (and their children!) during Covid. Other churches opened up faster than we did, and all our young people seem to have found other congregations. We have no children or youth SS classes, because we have no children or youth, except dgrands and the occasional visitor. We do have * sometimes * 15-20 children and teenagers (combined) on Wednesday nights, but none of them seem to return on Sunday morning, except dgrands. It's really sad.

LadyM -- I looked at my calendar last night and I have only 8 days that NOTHING is written on. I'm not really complaining -- I wouldn't take anything for dgs' enjoyment of baseball and getting to see him having fun like this. In addition to this, we have his piano recital, dh's chiropractor appt, and my teacher group meeting. I am also including the regular Fri/Sat sleepovers w/dgd/dgs and Sunday activities. Also need to make haircut appts SOON!
BUT it IS nice to see the occasional blank space, isn't it?
I'm so glad you had this time with your older son and dgs15.

Wow -- Harriet -- a full-hour of sermon alone!!! Oh my goodness. DH would be completely crazy. Well, I would be too, for that matter. That is one reason he is a bit sad to see the current pastor go. Besides the fact that he is really a genuinely nice guy, he NEVER preaches more than 20 minutes. We have church, supposedly, from 10:30-11:30, but we are sometimes out of church by 11:10! If we get someone who is long-winded, it will be a shock to everyone.

Small steps, Twins. WTG! That is my "mantra" these days. Just trying to make progress.
So exciting for your dh to be attending the Masters! Has he been before? Have you ever been? DH always watches.

Sensible rules/goals, lucylee. Oh, it is that time of year, isn't it? When I think back - our church needed that time of year and never got it for almost 2 decades and that was a big part of the problem.

HRH burned his hand at lunchtime by reaching out to grasp a handle he didn't realize was hot. He got it under the cold water fast and we're hoping it won't last. After some time passed, I did put lotion on it as described by Mayo Clinic, and he took as pain pill. I hope that turns out to be the right thing.

We had burgers for supper and watched some tv. I'd wanted to watch Perry as Ramblin' often enjoys, but HRH landed on something else first.

My goodness so many dishes today - how did that happen?

Took trash to cans and discovered two turned over. Sigh. This is why I have grandboys, so I can let that slide. But still, has this wind really been that high? Still?

Checked on hours for the nursery and they are definitely open tomorrow beginning at 9. I'm sure we won't get that early a start, anyway, plus it will be warmer in the afternoon.
