I still have painters here and they are such nice and hard working people.
I like having a houseful!
I will be happy to get furniture in the house again.
I am ready to start - I sat for an hour and half though
sending love to all of you!

Re: Happy Thursday pwyc April 14, 2022 watcha doinG?
Oh thank you for starting us out bw2! I woke up at 9 a.m. and am bleary eyed this morning and just sucked down my first cup of coffee.
I had a great two days researching. I got most of what I needed - could use a little more work on some things but got enough that I can fill in gaps in the third generation of the family report and have it nearly finished I hope. Drove over on Tuesday a.m. (exhausting in traffic and rain and T-storm!) and spent Tuesday researching. Checked into hotel, relaxed a little, did 7 p.m. Zoom meeting and went to sleep. I woke up tired yesterday a.m. - no surprise - and slept later than I wanted. Still got to library at 9 a.m. or so and researched until closing time. In fact, spent another thirty min talking to a fellow research - a college student - in the parking lot before I got on the road. So it was six p.m. home time before I started drive home. Dh was eating out so I stopped at a Cracker Barrell and had a carb heavy comfort meal, and got home at 9:30 or so last night. Lights out at 10:15 for me last night.
Today I need to regroup. I meant to go to a deli while in Nashville and pick up chopped liver for Seder tomorrow night, but I forgot all about that. In fact, I hadn't planned on how to keep it cool coming home so I guess it's just as well. I don't have cooking for the Seder - salad and fruit - but want to make faux chopped liver - especially now since I don't have the real thing.
The other thing I need to do is to start getting all the research into Evernote and documented while I remember odds and ends that I might not have written down.
I have 135 scanned from microfilm items that I uploaded to Dropbox before I left the library yesterday. A lot are things are like the roll identification at the beginning of a microfilm to document where I found it. I also have eighty something photo images from books and identification on the roll of microfilm touched.
I've been writing this for an hour and a half now...I had three cups of coffee and am onto water now because I feel bloated. Probably the Cracker Barrell meal. And I lost my Fitbit this trip! Need to check the car one more time.
Bw2, still painting! You have a lot happening. I'm about to despair of our contractor ever coming back to us on our kitchen.

Re: Happy Thursday pwyc April 14, 2022 watcha doinG?
blessed, do you have charming paint colors to tell about?
Twins', 9 am until closing time doing what you like? Priceless. Good wishes on fitbit finding.
I think blessed really will like to hear I've been:
Clandestine
gardening... .. at least, buying things to garden upon...with?... anyway, PLANTS! I snuck out early to avoid crowds, beat the rains, and keep my children from helping me and having opinions.
I was 10 minutes early at the nice close nursery and they, of course, said come on in. I had no idea how many folks actually work there until today. Wow. Two plants I was wise enough to buy there previously are sold out now, no more to buy. So that makes me feel pretty smart, if not fully satisfied.
Spent too much. But I have saved up in boredom for a whole winter in order to spend too much! So, I meant to do that.
Some new-to-me choices will be an education. The young man who helped me with some was very full of information and about half his info was accurate, half of it I did not choose to correct, since it wouldn't affect anyone's experience in growing. Nice guy, trying hard. Other ladies there were quite knowledgeable, especially with experience in what might winter over. A couple plants I actually have not grown and at least one of which I have not even studied at all, just liked so much when I laid eyes on it. Only bought one of that one. Living dangerously (both me and plant). So, that's the one to put up front, right?
Errands may still happen today with dd42, but the rains threaten. She says we'll play it by ear.

Re: Happy Thursday pwyc April 14, 2022 watcha doinG?
Good morning! I wanted to say hello to everyone. Wow, it's a quiet day here in the Village; thank you, Blessed, for opening. Sounds like work on your home will soon be finished.
I am having a wonderful, relaxing vacation here with dsis. We have been keeping busy and having a lot of fun while shopping, Bible study and staying up late just visiting. I help with some house chores as much as I can. Dsis is pretty well organized! I have new glasses, a new Bible and two new pairs of shoes! The weather has been nice here; some cloudy days, a little bit of rain and temperatures have not been too hot. I'm not ready to fly north just yet!
While I love being here with dsis, I do miss my other dfamilies. My dgrdaughter-H called yesterday afternoon and we had a nice long conversation. She has finals coming now in May and will not have any classes this summer, then only two classes in the fall. She will graduate in December with an RN degree. My dgrdaughter-K will also be graduating about the same time with her RN also. I am so proud of them! I had a text from ddil-A with a picture of my planter on the front porch; the lilies from last year are sprouting up again.
I am trying to keep up with posts here; thinking of everyone while watching the storms across the country and hoping everyone is safe.

I really do love hearing what everyone is doing!!!
It gives me so much joy!
ooo you know how to make me happy - gardening plant shopping sounds wonderful! our local shop that had tons of perennials shut down - their collection was amazing!
I so understand letting our children not come with so that they don't change "our" opinions. I have been having that with the house. (lol most of it is just white right now lol until we get the colors correct and the wallpaper in for the front room and dining room as well as curtain fabrics. etc. chosen.
I would love to hear what plants are new to you! It's always fun to learn and try new things; especially in the garden!
hi d twins I am so happy you had a wonderful 2 days of researching!!!~ driving, staying outside the home and researching does tire one out!!!
faux chopped liver?
re: painters - I was lucky - I found out that march is very slow for workmen around here - My daughters work helped me with finding a good floor person which helped me find this painting company. Now everyone is booked until late fall. I will be having them back to put up the wall paper and doing the master bedroom bc I couldn't afford to do it all.
I have had to laugh because people are stopping by us to see if our house is for sale. Yesterday I man drove by and asked and the day before a woman walked by and asked. dd has struggled with the process but we are getting close to being done! The movers come Tuesday. I am still trying to get dh on board to not bring things back into the house. I think I learned something that I should have learned in my youth. Keep up with everything - you deserve a nice home and then it won't be so costly or gross.

Re: Happy Thursday pwyc April 14, 2022 watcha doinG?
I'm here and that's about all I can say. Slept very little last night -was up in middle of the night and took some cold medicine. Afraid I've caught whatever 'bug' dd was freely sharing. We know it's not Covid as she was tested twice. She's really been under the weather but has worked all week. Fortunately this is her last day this week. She'll be home soon and I'm supposed to go with her to get a BOE van for her school trip with students to Jacksonville Sunday afternoon. Her last class today is either at 11 or she's done around 11 so she'll be home early to go get the van. Not sure I'm feeling up to going with her. Dsonil will go if I feel I can't/shouldn't.
DPastor called this morning to see how we're all doing and how dh made out going home this week. Told him I doubted I'd be at the Maundy Thursday meal/service this afternoon. What I really need right now is a good nap. Think I'll go take some cold med and try doing just that.

Hello to everyone!

Headed out to

— Maundy Thursday service
Dh already is gone for haircut… and he is having a rough day. Y’all say a prayer for him please, mentally and physically.

Re: Happy Thursday pwyc April 14, 2022 watcha doinG?
Break time again…
Brought over a load of lamps and shades. Will head back to the rental but am not sure what the next load will be.
All during this time my 94 year old mother has been in the hospital. She’s now been moved to a nursing home. My brother is not sure she will make it through the week because she now has bronchitis. I can’t go home because of the move.
Sweetie is having a difficult time and gets confused easily. I would go home to see my mom but my son has a business meets Monday thru Wednesday so he couldn’t be here to help Sweetie while I’m gone. My son decided to fly home to NJ so he could see his grandmother and to make sure she understands why I am not there. Course I’m not even sure she will make thru the weekend
My mother was very specific as to what she wanted me to do if ever she found herself in this condition. The drs say she’s in amazing condition health wise, but mentally she’s not there. She can’t get up at all without help and is very scared most of the time, and my brother says she has lost her will to survive. None of this is a surprise.
My brother said he was going to tell my mom it was ok to go to sleep and fly. Interesting because those were the instructions she gave to me because she though my brother wouldn’t be able to do it. My brother and I talked about it and I made him promise me when he told my mom the that he said it’s ok to let go now mom RR and I understand so go if you want.
It been a very emotional week for me dealing with all of this including stuff with Sweetie. I can’t leave him for the obvious reasons and I know if my mom was able to talk to me she would tell me to Stay. In some ways I’m ok cause my mom and I have talked about this moment a million times, so there are no words left unsaid but I do wish I could be there with her
Sweetie and I have been talking about this… remember I’ve been with him through three of his parts deaths. He is aware of my feelings and is trying his best to make things easier for me.
First thing he said to me this morning was… thank you for staying with me when I know you want to be home
So if my mom hangs on for awhile and her health improves I’ll head home in a week or two.
Don’t know whether Sweetie will go with me or stay. If he stays my son will be here if Sweetie needs anything.
Back to work…waving to y’all
