Good morning, dear Sheville!

I'm up, albeit awake many times during the night. Taking some cough drops to church with me -just in case I start coughing. I plan to wear my mask today so I'm not spreading any residual germs. Think I mentioned that I stumbled against the corner of our bedroom closet early this week. DD put 2 bandaids on for me. By today they were lifting & I needed to replace them so I took them off. Eeewwww! Blood everywhere. Luckily I hadn't dressed in my church clothes yet. Obviously the gauze was stuck to the wound. I so badly want to itch it.

Speaking of 'itching', how are those Shingles, RR? I can't imagine having to move in the midst of those!

DD's trying to get her things around to go to Jacksonville and church (this morning). We're having a very simple Easter dinner. She's doing a ham steak on the grill. I bought Southern potato salad at P ublix Friday and we're having pea pods and strawberry shortcake. She has to meet her students at school about 2 o'clock this afternoon. She hardly got anything done last night as she had her 'fun job' and it was late when she got home -after 11 I think. Have to ask her if she got a commemorative ring last night. They looked beautiful. Too bad they're not giving them out when DS-A & DGS9 go Thursday night. Actually I'm going with dd as well. It'll be my first NHL game. Dh has managed to go several times now. And DS is going both Tuesday and Thursday nights with friends. (They're staying at Disney right now but will be coming back here with us Thursday night -he & DGS fly out Friday evening.) DD has taken Friday off so she can spend some time with her brother. Plus they'll have to leave fairly early for the airport since he has to be there by 5. Can't even begin to imagine traffic traveling there at that time.

Dsonil is in taking a shower so he can go to church with us. DD finally asked him if he was taking a shower after it got to be nearly 9am. Another 10 and he was finally in there.

It’s moving day for me and the movers are here

Dee…What ever is left on my right are can be very annoying. I wake up in the middle of the night scratching. Plus the pain comes ago and by the end of the day I’m done.

Good morning Dee, I was lollygagging about getting us started so thank you! I was up before eight a.m. this morning. Another day of dh sitting on the couch looking at his phone and watching TV? He told me on Friday he needed to go to the office to do some things - he'll be away on Tuesday - Thursday evening this week. Never went to office on Friday, said he needed to go yesterday or today so we'll see. I have all those images from last week that I still need to "process."

I got my Fitbit set back up yesterday and will walk today. My goal is 5K average daily. Not very much, but when I go upstairs all day it's usually only about 2K.

Company here tonight for dinner with us.

Dee - Thanks for the start and (((Hugs)) for the owie.

RR - I am excited about your move to your new home. It has been many months of effort to reach this point!

Cathy - I have given much thought to your observation yesterday about stores & events closing for the holidays. A few of our stores do that but the majority carry on as if it was a regular day. I wish it weren't that way.

I woke the kids up with their Easter gifts.
I have starched & ironed DS13 dress shirt for today.
I washed and then cut my hair.
Hot rolls are out of the refrigerator to finish rising.
Breakfast was a hardboiled egg, greek yogurt with applesauce and blueberries.
We leave for church in 30 minutes.

Good Easter morning to everyone.

Working chat - I was surprised that dd23 has to work today. I questioned her on this because for goodness' sake it's a gallery, not a pharmacy! She started an explanation, but I didn't get it all. The point being that people look for a thing to do on a family-type quiet holiday: places they can go that are calm, I guess after lunch or whatever. So, a lot of art/museum kinds of venues have a tradition of opening, especially those streetside in towns, with foot traffic.

She is coming by after work. For one thing, her Dad is still point-man on the relationship between dd and the tax lady, and her form was sent to our house for her to sign. I think the tax lady is truly full of clients, but we are grateful to have her even if there is some calendar-watching.

I was outside enjoying the morning, trying to judge, also, how well the soaker hose was working, when I heard the phone ring inside and knew HRH was still not up. An hour later, I was able to get off the phone with his mother. She always apologizes for keeping me so long on the phone, but I know it's always going to happen. She doesn't have much going on in her life. A cousin pretty much forced her to go out to eat recently with their family, but that's rare. I think cousin considered it a victory and good for her, but the jury would be out on that.

While we talked I picked up some small limbs that storms had knocked into the yard, but mostly just walked around the house. I thought about church services happening. Was happy that ds' family is trying it - they are the only ones among us who are.

I talked with dd and she said that she had plans with friends kids are not with her this year.

Dd said that she and dd are getting along these days so that was good news.

Watching two quail in my backyard as I type, I left some grass to go to see in a few random places wild life seem to like it.
The clothes I bought for today are not working I need long sleeves bc of the cold temps. I messed up by not picking them out last night.

I realize the help lh was in times like this. Glad the dog is a distraction.
I may peek out the window and watch the neighbor kids hunting eggs in their backyard.

We've had dinner and dd just left to head to school. Their 'leave' time is 2pm but she got texts from students who are already there. They're excited! Our pastor prayed for her today during church -she's taking 5 teenagers by herself -but they are all good kids so she's not worried. They'll be back late Thursday -just in time for her to change her clothes and us to hop in the car (along with DS-A & DGS9) to go to a Tampa Bay Lightning game. She doesn't have to work that night so she and I will be together & ds in seats much further up. I'm just hoping I don't have too many stairs. It'll be my first Tampa Bay game. Have been to an NHL game before -I think Buffalo Sabres -probably more than once- and Quebec Nordiques (long gone). Went to the game when DS-A played in the internation Pee Wee tournament in Quebec City.

Going to give dh a call later. He's just lying low today trying to get over this cold. I went to church wearing my mask. Don't feel too bad even though I was awake several times in the night with coughing and/or a little sore throat. Hoping I've nipped it in the bud. I need to make an appointment to have a tooth pulled but knew I couldn't with this cold.

Dh and I went for a short drive earlier today and there were empty parking lots all over the place. Just pharmacies and restaurants and gas stations open. So peaceful looking.

Lots of traffic though.

On tonight's menu we have...

turkey thighs (2)
scalloped potatoes with cheese and onions inside
cranberry sauce
turkey stove top stuffing
carrots (to be cooked under the turkey thighs)
asparagus

Good afternoon!

There was a good crowd at church this morning -- about as full as a regular Sunday in the before time. Not as full as Easter back in the day, but about twice as full as a normal Sunday recently. There were even people up in the old choir loft. I read the first reading, and DH helped with Communion. DC even managed to drag themself out of bed in time to come and chose a beige skirt and blouse to match my beige dress. (We got a couple of comments.) They had taken the ribbons off that were keeping every other row closed to make room for everyone. I had a mask in my pocket to wear if it was crowded, but I couldn't find it. After Mass, I discovered I had put it in my coat pocket.

Harriet, I hope DD23 gets enough visitors to the gallery to make her time there worthwhile. I'm sure the theater where DeldestBIL works is open today. Working holidays is just a given for him.

Enjoy your walk, Twins! Sedentary days have become my norm lately, and the weather is not encouraging for walking here. We're in the 30s today. I hope you found a nice outfit for the cold temperatures, Nancy!

I hope you and your DH are both over your colds soon, Dee. Not the way to share a long-distance romance!

Today's Sunday chat was short; none of DH's siblings were on, just his aunt and one of his cousins.

We have the radio on, and our team is losing the baseball game. I am hoping the Chinese restaurant is open tonight; unlike Cathy, we do not have any other dinner plans. (That sounds yummy, Cathy!)

Our church was twice as full as usual this morning. They had extra chairs set up but had to scramble to get more set up as people keep coming through the doors. The nursery had fourteen kids under 2 years old. It was controlled chaos!

I enjoyed cooking holiday meal for 4 generations. And I enjoyed the chatting that happened for a couple of hours after the meal was finished. However, I can't deny that I'm ready to take a break.
