Good morning! What's happening today?

We're down to 10 plus the two of us this evening for dinner for dh's office dinner tonight. I think now I'll set the dining room table and breakfast table - they will seat twelve total and it will be nicer that way. I've got a list and need to keep moving. The dcleaning lady will be here today too. Sheets already in washer to go back on the bed, hopefully.

Next up:
-into clothes
-get house ready for dcleaning lady
-start challah
-a.m. routine (except shower later)

I slept more last night. I would still be asleep, but man is supposed to be here soon to work on tv antenna. We have Directv, but also have an old-fashioned antenna too. I got up to be sure I was d2s when he got here.
He just sent a text — he’s on his way.

Slept in today. It rained last night sun is trying to come out now.
I have been setting up my bullet journal for May.
Worked on that yesterday spent a lot of time on it that last two days.
It was time to rest and enjoy being inside not having to clean up anything. aka day off.
Decided I needed a day at home.
I was looking forward to my new lay out opened up my bujo and then remembered it was not starting today!

Good morning!

LadyM, the book is "O Come Ye Back to Ireland." It's a memoir of a couple who decide to give up their jobs in Manhattan to go live in the wife's family's ancestral cottage in the West of Ireland, there to write and paint and farm. I don't know who picked this book or where they found it; it's from 1987, and between the 5 of us, we managed to get our hands on 3 copies, even with interlibrary loan.

lucylee, I don't know if it even translates well from one place to another, but if you don't mind saying, about how much does the antenna man charge? Getting a better antenna and having it put up outdoors (we currently have a small one in the attic) is on my list of things to do in the near future.

DH returns from his retreat today; I'm supposed to pick him up at school around 4. I also need to give my Mom a visit. And I need to catch up on the housework I neglected while reading. And if I can squeeze some payroll in there, it would be a good thing. There are two more chapters waiting for my review. I had best get off my bottom! Somebody hand me the BGS!

This morning I already knew Princeton Theological had a survey for us, and I'd set aside at least a half-hour. to give up whatever time was needed. In every way I could, I encouraged their strengths and suggested additional building on hybrid learning and certificate programs.

All afternoon, I'll give up my home office to dd42 for zoom meetings that will work best for her in private, while I duck in and out of her house and mine to make sure all is well. She is bringing her tri-fold screen from home. It allows her to simplify her background on zoom calls all Covid-time, and has proved such a smart buy for her.

My back may not allow me to walk the puppy easily because she is so excited and will lurch on the leash. She's getting to be quite a big pup, growing faster than maturity can catch up. We'll see.

((((Harriet))) I hope the back pain resolves itself and quickly.

I have to force myself to not do too much in the garden at one time. I have to limit myself to doing one wheelbarrow load a day, about 10 minutes of weed eating at a time, etc. If I do a little at a time, my muscles don't get sore and complain. I had to learn this painful lesson about a billion times before I finally started listening to my body. I feel as able as I did in my 40's but my body insists it is older. Consistent baby steps are my compromise and how I get things done.

Gardening this morning included picking strawberries, asparagus, and green tops of garlic/onions. Everything has been washed and ready to be eaten/used in cooking. I also weedeated around the outside of the garden and used the blower to clear all surfaces.

Team cleaning has been moved to tomorrow. DD10 has already cleaned her room so she won the Early Bird award this week.

I have spent time making sure all the paperwork we need for today's meeting is ready. Each item is in individual plastic sleeves, and it will be easy to present as they ask for it.

DS13 is on his own for lunch today. I gave him money to eat at the local BBQ place. There are plenty of leftovers available also.

Three of the anger management books for kids arrived this morning. DD10 eyes lit up and she ran to get them. She immediately started reading them.

LOL, Mystery! Restaurant (our favorite restaurant!) lasagne, challah and salad. Tray of meat/cheese/stuff before, and Junior's cheese cake (from Costco) after. I have chocolate syrup and fruit to dress the cheesecake, or as an alternative. If I need a trip to the store might get some whipping cream - easy to whip with an immersion blender in a wide mouth mason jar, and would be nice with fruit too. I don't usually add sugar, just a little vanilla.

Dcleaning lady is doing her magic. I've taken care of sweeping the garage. Done with a.m. routine except for a shower later.

Harriet, so sorry your back in twinging. Does dd have a harness for puppy instead of color? That might discourage pulling, although a "Gentle Leader" is the way to teach a puppy not to pull on the leash.

Mystery, $473 for all the parts, estimated $550 labor for two men, five hours. So, it’s going to be right at $1000.
Dh could not believe labor was that high, so I probably insulted the guy by asking if it was $550 total or $550 plus the parts — the way he had worded it left room for some confusion.
Nope, $550 in addition to the parts.
The guy owns the business— that’s why dh thought he might be making his profit from the parts and just paying his helper. I knew labor was high because I knew what my dad charged ten years ago, as a contractor.,

Well anyway, it is what it is. I’ve known this guy since high school, he married a girl in my class. He is super nice and I know he’s not doing this to get rich. It’s just a very specialized field now, I think. Not many people doing it anymore with all the other options available for tv service.
