Stay Cool Monday PWYC
It's a heat wave in the U.S. this week! I assume our Canadian SHEs will get to enjoy it as well. Stay cool friends!

Re: Stay Cool Monday PWYC
Good Morning!
Twins - how are you feeling today? Thanks for the start.
107F yesterday. 103F today. My body is used to the summer temps, so they don't seem to be bothering me. I just remain aware while working outside to prevent getting overheated.
Today my focus is on federal & state income tax prep. I have delayed doing them until DD11 information was changed in SS system. Now I feel comfortable going forward with the IRS system. My goal is to gather and compile tax information and then get it into CPA hands.
This afternoon I will spend a couple of hours cooking and delivering a meal to Faiths extended family. Her two younger brothers have been living with them for 6 weeks while Faith & parents are in hospitals. Doing Meal Train is just one way of providing support to the family.

Re: Stay Cool Monday PWYC
I'm worrying over the heat today because the A/C upstairs in my room stopped working overnight. I woke up a couple of time vaguely aware that I wasn't cool and that it seemed to be running a lot. Temp was over 80 degrees, according to thermostat, which I had set at 76. So someone is coming to look at it "hopefully this afternoon" but I won't be working up there this afternoon. So another impediment to me "getting back to normal" at least in terms of writing and editing.
And I'm just "all over the place" anyway.
LadyM, physically I feel better - at least in terms of COVID symptoms. I badly need some body work - my right shoulder into my neck hurts and I have a headache. Mentally I feel like cr@p.
May I vent here? I feel like I've lost a month between vacation, wedding, COVID. I need to edit/finish portfolio work. I feel like a leper in my home. My house hasn't been cleaned in more than two weeks, and it will be another nearly two weeks before it gets cleaned again and I don't have the energy to deal with it. I think I've kept it together with dh around and now I'm falling apart.

Re: Stay Cool Monday PWYC
Please DO feel free to vent anywhere in our village, Twins!
It's not hot here -yet. Dh did open the screen door a little while ago though. Think he's working today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ELIZABETH. Know she hasn't been here since December 16th, 2021 and abruptly disappeared. Hoping she'll peek in at some point.
I've spent the last hour & a half or better trying to get orders done for 3 different places through my computer. Trying to find some things is nigh on to impossible and then trying to compare prices. I'm bleary eyed at this point so will try to finish up later this afternoon.
Think we're probably going to have DBiscuit for another week starting this Friday. Dd has made reservations to fly home (FL) for the 4th round of Stanley Cup (hockey) playoffs. There's a very slim chance she may decide not to go down. It really doesn't matter to us, we can 'sit' DBiscuit any time. She's a good puppy and she definitely is dh's dog. She'll walk right by me and head to dh and whine and greet to beat the band.
Think DS-A & family are coming camping tonight for a couple/three days. They had planned to camp at other places this summer but with gas prices they decided it was more price-savvy to buy a membership here and camp here off and on. Their house is about 13 miles away.
DD had a good chance to converse with the camp former owner (he has running rights for the next 4 years I think). DD expressed her concern that this campground could become a resort (and it certainly looks like that's where it's headed) and he has the same concern. Know that the group that bought it wanted to raise the rent $400/year right off the bat and former owner said he wouldn't sell with that mind. But we're betting it will be raised quite a bit within the next 4 or 5 years. However, we don't plan to go anywhere -really don't have any place to go.

Re: Stay Cool Monday PWYC
Morning y’all…
Twins…Aww, don’t be too hard on yourself. We all have times in our lives when we feel that way. Just take some time to be gentle with yourself. The world can wait until you are feeling more like yourself.
I have just returned from the gym! Yup you read that right… gym! Joined one that is close to me that offers classes. We’ll see how it goes. I go back tomorrow to have my fitness evaluated and measurements taken. We’ll see where this goes.
Next up: clean the grill. Sprayed it with easy off yesterday and now it’s time to scrub it down. Need to finish my second cup of coffee.
Although people hear are complaining about the 93+ degree heat, if I were still in AZ the temps today there will be 112*+. That’s why I’m thankful to be in my new home

(((Twins)))) You most certainly have many reasons to feel like you do. Give yourself some extra care, pampering, and TIME! It takes time to bounce back from all that. IMHO it is important to have good sleep, nutrition and remain hydrated. Focus on the basics until they are established again. Time spent moving while outside always gives me a mental boost.
It took less than an hour to dump my filing system (aka footstool) and sort the paperwork into categories. About half of the paperwork was put into trash. Next, I will focus on one category of papers at a time.
DMIL health care team has decided to deliver oxygen system to her home. Hum...DMIL oxygen level has always been good and was at 97% when checked this weekend. I guess having oxygen on hand is standard care for home health/hospice patients. It doesn't take up much room and can sit in the corner if not needed. We are trusting their evaluation of DMIL and their experience in doing home care.

Re: Stay Cool Monday PWYC
Blessed - Glad you had a good trip! Are you home or still visiting?
I spent some time in the garden until my body said, "I'm hot enough". While there I watered and harvested strawberries, 2 types of tomatoes, asparagus, 2 types of peppers, beet greens and garlic. They are cleaned and ready to be eaten now (except for garlic which needs to dry first). I noticed the white potatoes are close to being ready to harvest but that will need to happen another time. Paying attention to hot temperatures is more important than needy potatoes.
I'm taking a break to cool down before starting lunch prep.
I haven't forgotten the tax papers that are patiently waiting. They are on my radar but not immediate priority. Fixing lunch for myself and a hot & hungry teenage boy is next up.
