It's Tuesday, 19 July. It's still hot over a lot of the U.S. and Europe. I haven't checked for Bsweet and Nancy, who seem to get different weather patterns than many of us.

Or is your household "Hot" because so much is being accomplished today?

Just checked and we're only to get to high 80s so may not be so bad. Humidity is high so everything feels much worse...

I have much needed body work at 10 - beginning to think I need to sigh up for PT again. Hip hurts and radiates down leg - not nerve but muscle. Dmassage therapist says I favor one side and my pelvis ends up tilted up and to one side, which puts strain on legs and back.

Also, I have to go this afternoon for the dentist to make the new mold for my night guard. This always gags me and I hate to do it. Probably the only time I really hate to go to the dentist.

Right now I need to get into shower. Garage door is open so the three Js can come on in when they arrive.

Yes, so concerning to hear about the scale of new temp highs in Europe and across NA.

89 suggested as a high here, without enough chance of a cloud to suggest one of those.

Then up, UP, UP for the rest of the week, 97 on Sunday. No records, just the drumbeat of consistent hot.

Glad I watered the longest bed last evening, although that's no perfect solution to anything. It was last in my rotation before this string of hot days. It is going to try to rain just a bit ☂ Thurs late afternoon.

Again, all of this is a suggestion, lol.

Saw all the kids yesterday, although ds just sitting on his lawnmower calling back and forth. They'd had a good time on a brief mtn camping.

dd23 came in with a tomato from her workplace garden. Forgot everything I had waiting for her, though. Sigh. Admired the gardens.

dd42 was all dressed up for her "mugshot" for univ. webpage. It will fill the blank spot second from top of about 20 people, not all "hers".

dstepson worked on dd23's Ranger, following HRH's opinions, and his own. (dstepdil off to hospital for her dmother again, probably weeks.)

I had a ta-da when I discovered a just-tufting thistle and bagged it, cut it, trashed it. Yikes. Hope our eyesight is allowing us to see these.

Twins', I hope your discomfort doesn't last long - either mouth or hip. It's good you are proactive about the guard.

I'm on lookout duty for the boys as dd42 completes "on-boarding" in person. Later, I may either be the older boys' transport to appt or hang out with the younger boys while that's happening with dd42.

Next up, prep for smoothie at noon, and laundry now, make online order.

I think the problem with Europe (as well) as they have been having high temps for a few years now that they wouldn't have had before.
No one had air conditioners before but now many of my family members are adding a/c for the first time in their lives.

I was listening to yesterday's bcc podcast and there had been a warning a couple years ago about the environmental change that would happen if they didn't work on the climate change. What's scary is that the time line has gone so much faster than they expected. They thought they would have this problem in 2060 but a lot of the markers are here now.

We are calling my aunt today (we call her aunt but she is my mom's first cousin) to check on her. The other relatives are worried and said it's been bad in Europe. The crops can't handle it either and there is a worry for the rivers if this heat continues.

When I was a teen, my dad had been at a meeting re the water problems that scientist foresaw in the near future. (part of my dad's work that had to see how it would affect power and people). They said that the one commodity people will evenly have fights/wars over is water as it will eventually dry up in areas. They foresaw the problem of the Colorado River and other rivers being used in areas that should have stayed deserts instead of being populated.
I wish that the powers that be would have listened to the scientist back then.

okay so much for doom and gloom - praying that they have cooler temperatures and regular rain the rest of the summer and fall.

today before the heat sets in I have to move all the plants and bushes that I pulled, for the work being done, to the back of the yard and plant it. I want it to survive for next year. The workman said that I can't plant things back in this area until the dirt settles which should be next summer. It's a nice big pile of dirt.

Good morning!

110F/43.3C is our predicted temperature for today. Maybe more concerning than the heat is that we haven't had any rain since June 11th.

Today DH and I are celebrating our 49th anniversary. We had some struggles and challenges during these years together but overall I consider it a success. We have learned how to work together and help each other in our weak areas. We are fierce defenders of each other and always have each other's backs.

After considering all the options, we decided to leave the kids alone during the afternoon hours. We will eat a late lunch at our favorite restaurant then see a 4pm movie (Top Gun) and be home before dark. DS13 is taking off work early today and will stay with DD11. DS13 will be 14 years old in 2 weeks and I'm confident he is mature enough to handle this. He is excited about being given the responsibility and is taking it seriously.

Although we live in a sleepy small town with rare crime, I have to remind myself that it could happen. Thankfully it didn't happen last night, but I was surprised to see we had a midnight visitor show up on our camera system. At one minute after midnight a large, bearded stranger came to our front door and announced he was making a delivery of medication for DMIL from OnePoint. He obviously expected to be on camera because why else would he be making that announcement when no one was around. He then placed the bag of medication in front of the door and took a picture of it. Then he got back into his personal vehicle and left.

I just learned I was wrong about the kids getting c19 boosters. Our household is in three different age groups recommendations.
5-11 year olds
12-17 year olds
over 65 year olds.

According to this this CDC website they do not recommend the 5-11 and 12-17 year old groups receive boosters.

Boosters are not recommended at this time for any children or teens who have completed the Moderna COVID-19 primary series.

So only DH and I will get the booster next week. My plan has been adjusted....

Editing to admit that I am wrong AGAIN! DH and I got Moderna so that was what I was looking at. However, both kids got Pfizer.
Pfizer has different recommendations for 5-11 year olds and 12-17 year old.

Both kids are recommended to get a booster from Pfizer. Plan adjusted again. Now everyone is getting c19 booster next week.

I did get a bit of weeding done and trash is full and at the curb.

Fuel on rig thinking I might wait but should do it while it's cooler.
I have fans one and opened up the house to air it out it was stuffy when I got up.

Whew! Finally home. Left here at 6:40am for dh's cardiology appointment and then his Primary after that.

First I had planned to come here to wish Lord and Lady Maverick a VERY HAPPY 49TH ANNIVERSARY!! Knew it was today and wanted to post early, but as I said we just got back home.

Cardiologist is very unhappy with the Dr dh talked to Sunday. Said he should have been directed to go directly to the hospital so they could do labs and find out just where the bleeding is coming from. Now we're in 'wait' mode for his gastro Dr's office to call with an appointment for a GI scan. He talked to the non-scheduling office on our way home from the GP. This Dr has changed his omeprazole that he's taken forever for GERD to Pantoprazole which evidently can only be a short term med. Cardioligist wants him back on the aspirin right away -GP says not to take for at least a month (along with the Xarelto). Also told him not to take his potassium. I see problems arising from all this change. Dh is dozing right now and says he just feels like he's walking on a cloud. Cardiologist can't do anything about the Afib until he gets lab results and knows where the bleeding is. Sure we're looking at a hospital visit not too far down the road.

So confusing, LadyM, keeping track of everyone! You are right on top of it, though! I'm glad you and dh are getting some time alone to do something together.

I always feel more balanced and better after body work. The two Js downstairs hit me with good news and bad news about wiring when I got here, but I think we worked it out.
