Focused Friday PWYC
Some of us shared our lows yesterday - whether cyclical or situational - here's to getting things back in focus!

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
I missed visiting the village for most of this week, so I'll cuop after I post (and after feeding the starving critters!) This has been a difficult week here - signing the papers to put dMum's place on the market, all three of us coming down with the plague virus after successfully avoiding it for two and a half years, and finding out that the very first viewing of dMum's place - on the day it was listed - has gotten a nibble of interest that may result in me having EVERYTHING done no later than August 26th!!! Fortunately, the main plague symptoms for us have been a sore throat (DS), runny nose (me and DH), and fatigue (all three of us). I now find myself in the position of being more focused than I've been in many many many months!!
Some of the furniture from dMum's (living room couch and chair, a large desk, the bed and dresser from the guest bedroom, and possibly the master bedroom suite, along with three large bookcases) will be coming here, and I need to get things sorted and organized so there's somewhere to put it all!!! So far, I've managed to identify which rooms most of it will go in, and I've started a list of what will need to be done in the living/dining room.
It's going to be a crazy three weeks, and I'll be popping in and out for snacks, company, and accountability. The main focus today will be the living/dining room after I take care of a few basic dailies (that actually rarely get done on a daily basis
)
First up:
- feed poor starving critters
- dishes
- clean the cat box
- swish/swipe the bathroom
- take out the compost

Good morning!
Twins - Thanks for the start and encouragement.
(((bittersweet)))) You have so much going on in your life. Hang in there! We are cheering for you.
LucyLee - I'm sorry you must deal with the head lice. It seems to happen frequently near the start of every school year.
My morning routines are done. I'm ready to get started on the rest of my day. I am going to be focusing on consistent itty-bitty progress instead of big goals.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
I remember the year that DD managed to receive those little critters from one of her students. She had an 'inkling' and went to the nurse who said, "Yep!" and sent her back to her class. 10 minutes later nurse called and said, "Uh, no, you have to go home -after a stop at the pharmacy." I avoided her like the plague. When a student needs a hug she gives it.
Had a horrible night NOT sleeping. Slept beautifully at first and all of a sudden felt something in my hair and brushed violently at it. Then saw something black slithering away. Pretty sure it was a carpenter ant. Don't often see them but once in a while in the kitchen. Why it was in the bedroom I don't know. Yeeekk!!! Of course then I couldn't get back to sleep & kept turning the light on to make sure I didn't see it. Maybe I killed it. I can hope.
Dh is mowing just a little today. It is terribly muggy out there.
Have most of my routines done so it's off to exercise.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
It has been lightning & thundering since 11pm last night. I don't mind walking in the rain or snow, but I draw the line at walking when it is lightning or hailing. My morning exercise has been adjusted.
DS13 and a friend worked last night setting up their camp. Tent was put up. Beds and snacks gathered. Electricity ran to tent to support their two xbox and two monitors. This was their version of roughing it. When the storms moved in during the night, I texted DS13 to ask what they were going to do. They had moved all electronics into DFriend living room and continued their overnight adventures there.
I have planted some okra and squash seedlings in the raised beds. I germinated these indoors because I knew it would be a challenge to get them to germinate in triple digit heat. We have had 56 days of triple digit heat this year..... so far.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Trying hard to FOCUS today and have a timer going. But dh reminded me I needed to call about the damaged microwave drawer and it took awhile getting around their phone tree to the right place. But UPS will pick it up so we don't have to schlepp it back. Then dh had to call me to let me know that the temple administrator has LOST a check he dropped off as a contribution. LOL, he went on and on exactly like dd and I do. I can just laugh this time.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
Hoping that today we are all blessed with internal sunshine and optimism and that all of us have positive people around us all day!
May life treat you very very well today!!!
I will be joining you all on getting back to focus!!!
I ended up sleeping yesterday afternoon - bit of a headache trying to pop through. It was not good for the house but it was good for me.
It's 11:20 and I have not started yet.
I can just wave now but hope to be back here for the rest of the day!
hello d b is sweet,
hello d dee, praying you get rest tonight!
hello d harriet,
hello d twins,
hello d lady
hello d Lucy -hoping the lice disappear fast! It happens!!!
hello d Nancy!
It's a new day -
- it's super dry outside and I am going to water as things are suffering.
the rug cleaner is here - it won't be beautiful but it will be clean - I am thinking that it has to be done twice a year. The basement collects moisture.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
I am loving my water barrel I bought this year. it's keeping the garage dry and collecting water for this dry time.
I am considering getting another one for the side of the garage before winter happens. we get ice in that area all the time bc of the melting and refreezing snow and ice.
I let d younger dog out on a leash until she is retrained. she isn't thrilled but at least I know she won't get hit by a car.
clean out drain tile collector part. it smells like sewer. d brother told me that I need to do this twice to three times a year. done
I am also going to write my landscaper today for new drain tile near 3 season room back door and the last place of the inside garden.
time to eat lunch then go out to work again.
fertilized pumpkins
Next cut up boxes.
I was going to donate garden things and I realized today that I had already decluttered in spring. It was a nice surprise.
then: dog stuff
put fences back
water pot out in front
10 minute garden zone work
play with dogs (throw ball)
one load of laundry is left
I lost track of when it rained as well as when I water. I usually do well with keeping zones watered but this year has been crazy for this. it's been super dry.
I wish I could let younger dog out with me while I work in the garden (I think I will tie her up in the shade with me). Other dog listens well and stays near by me.

Re: Focused Friday PWYC
I guess there's a good reason my focus is poor today. I've had ten phone calls today, three from dh and one from a friend. And two text messages. And dh is home from work now to quiz me about what I asked them today and what they did.
And I'm just feeling like I'm not making any progress.
