Continuing with Cathy's weather theme - in the south we have a chance of T storms a lot of summer days. They'll cool things off a little, but OTOH the humidity stays high and you can cut the air with a knife.

I'm going to be my own little storm of getting things done today.

I'm getting body work at 10 today and after that home to work on portfolio work. I have to finish this. Current plan is to set a daily goal of pages edited/corrected/finished. That includes re-writes and finishing citations etc. I'll do another proofing at the end, and probably a complete review of citations for consistency.

Dh is bowling again which gives me Tuesday evenings free again. I have a Zoom meeting every other Tuesday p.m. anyway, but knowing I have an evening that he's guaranteed to be out is nice.

Today the kitchen island is getting moved into its final position and tomorrow we get counters.

Good morning!

My day is off to a good start. Routines have been accomplished. Trash is at the road ready to be picked up. DS14 owies have been bandaged and he has left for work. Today is Patch Tuesday (Microsoft monthly updates) and I have downloaded those to this laptop. I spent extra time in Bible study this morning just because I found it so interesting that I didn't want to stop.

I am going to try moving my Main meal to mid-morning timeframe. I want to observe how my BGlucose dawn phenomenon response to this. Learning my body seems to be a never-ending series of lessons, trials, and observations.

Plans for today -
** DS14 closet painting effort - apply second coat.
** 5:30pm DD11 to take her school supply to school and attend the Meet the Teacher event. In our little school, 4th, 4th and 6th grade students have the exact same teachers for each subject for those 3 years. DD11 already knows her teachers, subjects, and classroom's locations. However, the homeroom teacher for each grade changes so DD11 will learn who that is for this year. She will also learn her locker # and who she is sharing it with.

Progress, slow & steady, Twins.

It's only 69 out here right now. Almost seems good after the saunas we've been in for several days. We definitely are not used to it.

Dh is out 'dipping tanks' this morning. Doubt he'll work very long -think he said he had about 35 tanks to check. He does ALL of them which is 243 I think the first week of each month. Then there's 'selected' ones he does every week. There are some who use their washers, etc faithfully and need to be pumped every week. Can't imagine spending almost 20-cents a gallon to empty it every week. The new tanks are over 1,000 gallons and some of those are pumped EVERY week. Can't imagine almost $400/month to empty septic. We're probably somewhere around that for the summer -just to compare.

Dh said he probably didn't sleep 2 hours. So, I think I'll rearrange his allergy med. He usually gets 2 t ylenol PM at bedtime. During high allergy season (which is now with goldenrod) Dr told him to take an extra allergy pill. So I've been giving him a B enadryl in place of 1 t ylenol. Might change that to his late afternoon med and stay w/the 2 t ylenol at bedtime. (Dh just came in for a potty break and said he'd be home in about 25 minutes. So I was right, he's quitting early. It's really pretty nice that his boss says he can come and go any time he feels like it -just has to clock in/out. Think they just want to let him work what he can.)

We are headed out for our little trip. Both dgrands, ds, dh and me. Dgd seems like she feels sooo much better!

They are both also looking forward to going to the pool tomorrow… so looks like my plans are made for that also.

Allergies are still making me crazy. Sigh.

We have been officially declared to be in disaster drought status. That is heartbreaking for some ranchers/famers/landscapers, etc that depend on having enough water for things to grow. The towns have closed the kids spray parks and public pools have been closed because of water shortage. However, on the flip side..... Allergies this year are almost non-existent. Also flies are rare. WHERE are all the flies? I guess there are blessings that can be found in everything.

LadyM, I think this is the second drought there in maybe ten years? Scary, like the 1930s.

I realized I'm not aching like I was several weeks ago. That's a victory - now to stay that way. I think the body work helps. I went for several weeks without seeing him because of our travel and having COVID.

I'm going for four pages today. I have until dh gets home from bowling tonight. That should be doable. That would put me at ten pages done, out of thirty-seven (current page count - it goes up and down.)

They have placed the island in place downstairs in the kitchen. It feels weird!

second drought there in maybe ten years?

Yes. We have a bad series of drought years between 2010 and 2015. The worst was 2011.
Sometimes I have been known to talk to my plants when I put them in the ground. I tell them they are living in Oklahoma so they have two choices - get tough or die.

Speaking of getting tough.....a month or so ago the wind blew over a tomato plant that was about 12' tall and 5' around. This resulted in over half of the roots being pulled out of the ground and the plant lying horizontal across multiple raised beds and pathways. I tried to pick it up to return it to its place in the garden, but it was too heavy for me. I decided to just let it be while the green tomatoes turned ripe then I planned to dispose of the plant. That crazy plant has decided it loves the challenge of growing sideways! It has grown another 3', is covered in blooms, tomatoes, and is thriving.

I'm on a break with feet up, fan on high to dry the sweat and glass of tea to rehydrate.

Garden report - I quit posting these daily because it seems the same day after day. I am reminding myself that consistency doesn't mean boring, and it can be good. ANYway, today's harvest was 3 bell peppers, a dozen or so pepperoncini peppers, a half dozen jalapeno peppers, half dozen asparagus spears, a couple dozen tomatoes of various sizes and varieties. I really need to start harvesting sweet potatoes, but the vines are so big and beautiful that I hate to do it. I do remember what happened last year when I waited.....I harvested football size sweet potatoes. Decisions decisions...

I couldn't fall asleep last night - around 2-2:30 I reluctantly fell asleep but didn't wake until almost 11 - headache but not a migraine.
It's already 12:20 and I am just starting my day. I don't feel 100% myself - as dh says - who do you feel like then?

I know the right thing is to let the dogs run - d younger dog is still breaking through the fence even after the nice woman came which makes being out in the garden a pain in the bahookey. They have to up her collar. Having a long leash on her will just tear up all the new bushes and plants. I have to figure this out.

I know I should go out and weed but I think I will first find trash around the house. Maybe I will do a pick up and put it away.
