We are without internet at our home this morning so my posting will be limited until repairs are made. I suspect the overhead lines were damaged when a fire happened at a nearby home. Our internet went offline a few minutes after the fire trucks arrived (around 2am).

Even without internet it is a great day to celebrate Cathy and Sunny!

Good Sunday morning!

I need to make this short and get dressed and head to church. I don't go very often but decided I'd go today if I can get out. The roads are still pretty clear. Yesterday they backed up between 10 and 11, but southbound so I should still be able to get back into my neighbourhood at 11:30 or noon.

I've cuop and really appreciated RR's detailed description. And Harriet's being overwhelmed with being spoiled by her family (and relieved the storm didn't cause any real damage to the lovely tree-filled properties I remember.)

Friday was exhausting. I got to dd's at 10:20 with the highway being completely open so I made up time (I had been delayed leaving.) We walked to the hair cut, dgd was a golden child and the cut is very cute. She loves it.

She had been too excited to eat her breakfast when she had heard of the rest of the plans for the day, so she finished that after the cut and then we made it to the museum for 12, which was when our tickets were for. Arriving right at lunch meant the museum was empty even with free admission that day (National Day of Indigenous Reconciliation). She played for an hour with the different items and then announced she was starving.

As we were leaving, I tried to buy a family pass but they wouldn't sell me one because it was bad use of my money (waiting 1 day would get me 13 months access instead of 12.) The new family passes are the same price as the old grandparent passes but are more flexible, I can take dd in with me instead of dh. One thing I love about them is the number of children is unlimited and they don't have to be 'blood' so I can take dfs' kids or friends of my grands. And it is good for 3 museums, Science and Tech, the Aviation museum and the Agriculture museum (which is close to me.) I'll have dgs1.5 weekly from now on, so intend to get a pass and take advantage of it more fully (the last one was wasted as it was bought 5 days before the 2020 lockdowns.)

On our way out, I also went to the gift shop and bought an extra present for dgs5.99999 and found something for their father for Christmas. I'm pretty sure dgd will tell when she remembers but so be it.

Then it was off to pick up food from Mcdonalds, a picnic on the museum grounds (it was a gorgeous day), a quick Skype call with dh in Europe (I have data on my phone now) and then to a special playground. Except she fell asleep on the 8 minute drive so she woke up in her driveway and was very grumpy. We did 15 minutes at the local park, then home for snack and playing with her brother. Thankfully, I had eaten snack because they eat dinner at 7 p.m. I was trying to get on the road before 7 because lane reductions were coming in prep for the 8 p.m. shutting of it, but I didn't because dd took a dizzy spell so I took dgs to the store to buy treats for his party guests.

I hit the highway at 7:10 and the drive wasn't too bad. By 8, I was eating a light dinner (PB&J plus a large salad with hard boiled egg) after driving home and tidying the car.

Saturday was spent babysitting dgs1.5 and then dinner with him and his daddy. It was a wonderful day and I have enough leftovers for at least one more dinner.

Now to rush to get dressed and out the door to church.

I am still mending NO fever again this morning so that is a positive sign.
This is day #8 but at least I slept well.
No church in person for me. I did enjoy praise music on youtube yesterday.
I will forgo Bible studies again this week.
I slept in a bit had good dreams and my frame of mind has improved glad for that!

Glad I mowed yesterday and showered last night.
It is such a relief that the ones in the hurricane path have checked in okay.
My main goal today is to hem pj's.

Waving to all this morning! Glad to see Kathryn and I love hearing about her dgrands.

Dh has gone to a funeral at the temple cemetery. A very much older member of the temple, I don't think I had ever met her.

I'm hoping to carve out some time upstairs today. We're to go to Costco so I can get a hearing test and possibly hearing aids today. Dh and dd have been wanting me to do so for several years. I set up an appointment awhile back and it was for Friday - and I had completely forgotten about it because I was convinced it was in Oct. So I stood them up on Friday and am trying again today. I'm afraid it's time for hearing aids, like I need more complication in my life.

Yesterday I got in a little work, then we went to hang out at the river with friends there. It was a gorgeous fall day, lots of boats on the river including the local excursion steam boat that did a turn around just below us. Back at home watched FL State game with dh and read for the evening.

So quiet day today!

This coming week I have two days "out." Wednesday is Yom Kippur when I'll be at temple and otherwise disposed for the day, and on Friday I'm watching a day-long webinar - begins at 11 over at 7 p.m.

I'm glad that RR and Sweetie are getting a break, hoping for same for bw2's dd who is pulling a lot of duties right now. Lots on her shoulders.

d twins thinking of the family of the older member of your temple.
My brother in law has had them since his early 50's (his whole family gets them). He said it's not too bad - Hoping the process is not uncomfortable and is a benefit to you!

call the young man - jobs for him: move the dirt and compost and build up the veg garden before next year. dig out all the sunflower roots and corn roots.

I am thinking of first talking to neighbor behind to see if he wants help with the weeds on my dime - without telling him it's on my dime. He can't keep up with them and I would love to help.
I will ask if he would like a free drawing from my landscape architect - I would pay for that as well.I will be happy to help them (only if they want). I also want to cut all the dead branches from his tree that are hanging badly over our property.
I will play it by ear bc I don't want to hurt his pride. I will get a feeling first.

say a prayer that my talk with d brother goes well - I want my mom and dd to go to a hotel until the electricity is on. There are a ton of strangers on the properties and driving down the streets - videos in front of the buildings - lots of security fences and bushes have been lost and the bottom doors etc are gone. people and animals can just walk in (and they are).

Happy, Happy! Birthday, Birthday!

I hope Cathy and Sunny each have delightful days today.

Today was a special joint service for the church (online) we usually watch, with meal afterward. It was also communion and I didn't realize it in advance, so rushed a bit to gather juice and bread. The sermon, in Spanish, kept using the word "cafe" and the minister teased before he translated his own words that he just knew the English speakers were trying to figure out how coffee intersected the message, lol.

But he was talking about being aware what you are addicted to and how addiction can be a good thing if you practice good, instead of anything that might be negative. So, he was encouraging addiction, lol (and not criticizing coffee). They finished with a prayer for those who have fellowship through casseroles.

We have good leftovers today so I may not cook.
Laundry will happen this afternoon - don't know how much.

We will probably enjoy tv together as we have been saving up some new releases (or new releases to U.S.). The 4th U.K. season of Ghosts has "dropped" here (we didn't know we'd get it). It's so funny and of course we can match wits by predicting how mistakes may affect bakers in GBBS.
