What are you plans for the first Saturday in December? And what's on your mind as we approach the holidays?

I am up have a bit of the sniffles.
More snow coming tomorrow.
The meeting went okay and my bs is really good after I had 2 pieces of Pizza last night I was surprised.
I did plan for that so it helped and was more active yesterday. They are decorating the church and donuts will be there not thinking I will make that.
Took three prayer shawls last night and do not have to think what to do with them any more yea!
I have been working on my 2023 stuff and that is exciting for me.
It is lite here this morning so that is a plus.
Have a great one.

They are having a lite parade this afternoon doubt I'll go to that.

It could be a Slow Saturday given how many posts in the morning!

I had a slowish start to the morning.

I'm still dealing with falling ornaments off the window. Two more fell last night and the replacement suction cups gave way quickly. So that 'tree' is incomplete.

I'm dressed. It was a shower day and I got my bangs trimmed as well. It is 3 weeks until my hair cut so they'll grow by then but were driving me nuts. I took the time to dry and style my hair too.

I'm waiting for a new hair dryer tomorrow. Dh was using mine to soften adhesive on his phone (he was replacing the non-user replaceable battery) and it died. He didn't do anything wrong, it just died but is at least 10 years old. I took over a day to choose one, looking up the latest tech for a good hair dryer and ended up buying the same brand with the same features (except only 2 heat levels plus cold burst, instead of 3 and the ionic level is preset not user controlled but then again dh and I found that control only after the hair dryer died!)

In the meantime, I'm using my dual voltage travel dryer and travel diffuser. It works fine but is slower and no control over the heat. Still, my hair looks no different than with the dryer with all the features.

Dishwasher is emptied and cleaned on the inside. I'll be hand washing all the dishes from now until dh is home. Two loads of laundry are through the washer, one is dried and folded, the other awaits hanging.

I was to work on the dining room today but so far have just taken away the offending autumn place mats, and pulled out napkin rings and napkins for the season. I need 10 napkin rings but have dozens so this isn't an issue. In fact, there are still 8 Christmas napkin rings in the dining room linens cupboard. I guess I kept them all because they didn't take up any room (and all but 4 were hand gifts from loved ones) but now I need 10 if we are all at the table at once (14 if dfs' family is with us too but not this year.) So I'm glad I kept them.

I did put up the reusable snowflake stickers, putting them on one set of kitchen cupboards instead of the transom window. Dh and I have to work around that window when he gets home as I'm growing a pothos plant across that window and we have to rearrange that before it gets too out of hand. It is currently growing up the wall from a plant stand and it keeps sending a tendril into the clock that hangs on the wall. I'm covered the vents in the clock with cling wrap to protect it but the leaves are also blocking view of the face of the clock from time to time.

Dgd had me buy some other reusable stickers and I'm still deciding where to put them. They are 2 trees, 3 ornaments, a wreath, and 4 that combine to say Joy to the World. The ornaments are on the door from the kitchen to dining room and actually look really nice there.

I'm listening to Christmas music but properly (not online or computer mp3s, but a proper CD and speakers) and that means I'm 'stuck' in the living room. Unfortunately my next task is to vacuum and dust the bedrooms so I can hang up the second load of clothes to dry.

It is a terribly dull here and I'm having trouble feeling energetic despite my light therapy and meds.

Ahhh, the cd just ended. Off to vacuum and dust the bedrooms!

I didn't wake up until 11 am because I didn't really sleep well bc of a really bad head and neck headache. I am also nauseous - that comes with migraines.
Took my meds and I am feeling better. I will have to stay ahead with ty Lon el.

what's on my mind re holidays
I honestly don't have the Christmas spirit but I am not going to try to fight it. I am happy but that deep holiday feeling, I usually have, is not there yet. I have things to finish but I need to do an anonymous something for someone else.

spoke to mom yesterday night again and I told her I will be sending my brother and my sis in laws presents to her on Monday. I will have dd younger intercept them and have mom sign it and put it somewhere safe bc mom won't remember where she put it.

shopped yesterday for my menu plan
picked up St. Nicholas day mini gifts for dd's.
ordered dd olders macarons from our local French bakery. saw a dear dear woman I knew there
and a bunch of other errands.
I also bought snacks for the ups delivery people.

dh has been picking up the slack for me the last week and I am so appreciative.

today: look at calendar and figure out exercise schedule to get ready for heavy yard work this spring/early summer.
pick two things I want to learn this coming year.
I am not going to have a word this year
it is always a joy to be here with you!

It is a slow Saturday for me too. I got up on the late side and have been "down the rabbit hole" on research that I've deferred. We're supposed to see friends this afternoon at their house at 3.

I have asked dd younger to give me when mom eats/and about her meds . I need to keep proof of what dd younger, dd older and I do bc people assume that bc mom says no one feeds her that it's true. There is really good food in. the fridge but will eat if someone places it in front of her (Alzheimers)

yesterday dd younger had fed her a nice lunch and made a dinner for her (put in the refrigerator) bc dd younger was going to be out for the evening. it was marked easily and had clear plastic and what to do/microwave for 2 minutes. dd came home at midnight and mom hadn't eaten - she said she didn't have to eat anything. She has been eating all the cookies my brother bought her so I think that's how she is filling up.

I am going to have my mom's dr. talk to my brother - dd younger has been saying for years that she needs more help. The dr. told me that mom needs more help and it shouldn't be dd. I tried to tell my brother. His worry is that mom will be upset but I think dd needs someone else there (not all the time bc mom is great in the afternoon) but have someone if dd leaves.
I am going to suggest that my brother talks to the doctor.

Blessed: don't worry about the Christmas spirit not with you yet. There are times I go through the motions and most years it pops in when it wants to show up, not when the calendar says it should. For me, that often is when we get snow. We had some for a few days but it went away and there's no snow in the forecast, just flurries.

Right now we are in a wind storm. My wind gauge shows that 55 mph was our highest gust so far. It is jumping between 35 and 45 mostly. The gusts change the air pressure in the apartment and made me unsettled (the building is also swaying a fair bit and vibrating which also plays up that feeling of unsettledness.)

I'm off to do something to distract myself since I'm less likely to feel the motion if I'm in motion myself.

The bedroom wing is vacuum and dusted, and those clothes hung up. I mopped the bathroom floors so I'll put the mats back down and then mop the kitchen. By the time it dries it will be time to make dinner.
