Saturday - step by step
I kept thinking of the song that says " Inch by inch, row by row, going to watch my garden grow" . I think of it like life. We move forward, even if we don't see the time or seasons moving with us. We continue our journey, our work, and our learning every day, every week, month and year.
I loose focus of this beautiful adventure, once in a while, but always come back to feeling grateful for the moment that is ahead of me.
I am grateful for the day!
What light can you see ahead of you today? Look for the small joyful moments - the quiet moments - a moment that no one else can see but you can appreciate.
I send you joy!
Have a good day!

kind of corny the way I see things. sorry - seeing dh going through things makes me even more grateful for the moments we have
Inch by inch, row by row (days, months, years)
Gonna make this garden grow ( life)
All it takes is a rake and a hoe (work in your life)
And a piece of fertile ground (your life, your family and good works)
Inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow (family others and a good life)
Someone warm them from below
Till the rain comes tumblin' down
Pullin' weeds and pickin' stones (things that don't belong in your life)
Man is made of dreams and bones
Feel the need to grow my own
'Cause the time is close at hand
Rainful rain, sun and rain
Find my way in nature's chain
Tune my body and my brain
To the music from the land
Plant your rows straight and long
Temper them with prayer and song (prayer and gratefulness)
Mother Earth will make you strong
If you give her love and care
Old crow watchin' hungrily
From his perch in yonder tree
In my garden I'm as free
As that feathered thief up there
Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground
An inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below
Till the rain comes tumblin' down
may you be blessed today.

"Step by step, oooooh baby..." New Kids On The Block. As soon as I read the title for today, I started singing that before I even opened the thread.
Laundry is going with towels, etc. Kitchen table is clean and clear. Bed is covered in sleeping cats. Mopped a couple of floors because it's part of (gasp) my morning routine.
My accountant called me last night to let me know how things are going with taxes in Canada. It's at least a 5 hour wait on the phones, due to the strike. Our taxes don't even get filed until June, because of business, but still... he said there will most likely be an extension announced. I admitted that I haven't been keeping up to date on our books and he said not to worry about it right now.
It's raining here, as expected. I will be going to knitting today because I am busy for the next 2 Saturdays.
Dh has requested something like subs or cheeseburgers tonight.

Re: Saturday - step by step
Blessed, thanks for the nice opening today. I listened to the song, been a long time since I've heard that one.
We're doing the slow and steady walk here too. DH is trying to get used to not using his rollator. I think he's pushing it a bit, but I can't tell him what to do. He worked yesterday, went off without his rollator. Where this house is they have the other kind of grass that is spongy and catches your feet if you try to walk in it. He certainly couldn't push his rollator there anyway. Today he did some work in the yard. I could see how sore his knee was when he came in.
All my dailies are done, there were extras today. When I do them all, the house is tidy again. I like to reset the house every morning as much as I can.
Outside work for me today. I will go out and see what I can do. Watering, a little planting, raking a lot of leaves.
So, that's it so far. Have a nice day everyone.

Re: Saturday - step by step
My migraine put me behind for two days so I’m doing a lot of catch up.
I have extra things to do on my list. I have several lists I need to write up for a Sweetie. Will do a grocery run tomorrow because I need things for Sweetie to make while I’m gone. I’ll make a big pan of Ziti on Monday to get him started and then I need to add other dinners for him.
I leave on Tue and won’t get back till Sunday so I gotta make sure he doesn’t starve.
After months of doctoring Fred the Fish, he final bit the dust. My guess is he was a much older Beta since he didn’t respond to the medicine I was giving him. My island counter looks empty without. All my other Betas lived for years… one Fred made it over 4 years!

Re: Saturday - step by step
Cathy: I was able to file our personal tax returns by e-file. Our business is incorporated with a March 31 year end so September 30th for tax returns files but June 30th for taxes to be paid so that's our real deadline. You have reminded me to email my accountant to get a meeting with her set up. I haven't started the corporate bookkeeping (yes, there's a whole year's worth to do).
Dgs arrived this morning at 7. Dh went to get him for me. TG put him into the car and I went to get him out but dh helped him down (and carried his bag.) He's here until 3 tomorrow.
I've been playing solid with him so dh is with him now and I've got two to-dos off my list. When I cleaned up in order to lower my roll-top desk, I piled all the papers on the dining table. While he played on his own, I sorted and did filing so the table doesn't look too bad now and I know the priorities of the things to do next.

~~waving Hello~~~
I listened to both songs mentioned this morning. Here is a link to the Step by Step song. Thank you Blessed & Cathy for the good start today.
I'm enjoying the newly designed daily template. I will be tweaking it for a few days until it gets everything captured and in the place that makes sense to me.
After a couple of days of gray weather, we now have a week of beautiful sunny weather ahead. I am looking forward to it.
DH and I are going on a little adventure today. We will start by walking/hiking in the refuge and then see where we end up.

Re: Saturday - step by step
I hadn't even come here yet and was doing things "step by step" so I'm really with it today. Thanks for the song. Going to play it in a minute so it can go through my head all day!
Dh has been doing a lot of sleeping. In spite of me packaging his first 3 meds separately and putting time frames on them he still managed to mess them up (first is thryroid med, 2nd is his metolazone and hour later his turosemide). So tonight I'm only putting out his thyroid med. Then I'll package and hide the next 2 so he can't mess them up. Just means I have to be up to give them to him. He can take all the rest of his meds any time.
DD has called and checked in. Then our pastor from FL and we talked quite a while. I asked him a question when we were through and I may put the ? and answer in MO later. Might help someone else.
Just sucked up (vacuum) a stink bug in here. Can't believe there's still one alive from last year.
Need to make up a short grocery list. We've been spending a lot at the grocery stores around. So much is getting staples and we have to start every year.
