My brain can think of a dozen new things and methods to try each day. I must constantly pull myself back from trying them all at once. I have great enthusiasm to start new things, but I lack follow through. I would rather go to the next new thing to try instead of building consistency. I acknowledge this struggle, but I enjoy the pleasure and enthusiasm of trying new things, so it continues to happen in my life.

New thing I am trying today - clipboard and paper.

My goals for today -
** Keep safe. Our temps are 104 with feels like at 116F. It is dangerously hot outside. I will be limiting my time outside to 10-15 minutes at a time then come inside and cool down.
** Go through, sort, organize, with focus on decluttering a stash of old homeschool books and supplies I found yesterday. They were in the back of one of the linen shelves that I cleaned out. Why? Who knows.
** Process tomatoes & peppers. Wash, chop, freeze. I took a big container of tomatoes and peppers last night to share with our church family but there are still way too many on my kitchen counter.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Today I am trying options to hold cups on rails on the deck option one is a plant holder with a small crate in it and cups fit.
Option two will be scraps of boards I got from under the deck and can set in the corners.
Option three tried and true method of a stool cut off to 6" ish tall.
Less is more I have pulled most of the decorative planters off it's too hot.
I have another med. size crate I can set on end for cups too.

I have cleaned up under the deck a couple of long boards are now on the patio area using one saw horse and work space area getting them off the ground I can now wash it off. I have gotten all the supplies and stuff out from under the deck.
These two boards will go in front still thinking where maybe on the trailer and a saw horse there still thinking...
It is good exercise. They are long and wiggley. /
Got them out front on the utility trailer after I put em on the workstation without moving sawhorses! YEA!

Fetched my garden tool caddy that had gotten knocked over and tools retrieved out of the shop
now that I can get to them I will put em in the plant cage till workers are done next week.

I made up a salad for later on in the day.
I picked up rocks to wash for painting later on.

I am having immense success with pen/paper/clipboard. Instead of updating my digital file I write it down.....meaning I don't touch my computer which often leads me into online sidetracking.

A friend gave us some catfish he caught. It is in filet form which makes cooking it super easy. I will make some tartar sauce to go with it.

I didn't plant as many marigolds this year in my raised beds garden. I am noticing a huge increase of nematodes. That always seems to happen. I need more marigolds!!

Hi!

When I woke up this morning dh was changing the bags in 2 of the garbage cans inside. I immediately took the full bags outside and put them into the big garbage cans and took the recycling and compost bins to the end of the driveway. Came in and turned on the dryer. So, lots of things got done at the very start of my day.

Then I finally sat down at the computer. Trying to get the rest of the kitchen cleaned up today. The island is completely covered except where the cutting board is.

I went to knitting and the "mean" woman wasn't there. Only 1 of her friends was there. I continue to get love and support from all of the other women, other than the friend. Friend is decidedly frosty to me... oh well... time for me to move on from the people that aren't supportive, right?

Supper tonight will be salmon casserole at dh's request.

Sometimes when people do wrong, they get mad at you just because you know, or are a reminder. I would like to say "don't think about it any more - forget it". But alas, it will always be so. (Cathy).

Well I tried bocci ball again this morning in the 94+ degree heat with the wall of humidity hanging around.

Thankfully We do have shade to stand under when we’re not “bowling”, but still it was hot! Didn’t make a fool out of myself so that was good, especially since I’ve become an official substitute for our league. Would love to spend some time practicing rolling the balls, but it just too hot out there even in the early mornings. My friend told me once it cools down they do spend time just practicing. I have the lock combination to where the balls are kept so I can do that any time I want, but not when it’s this hot.

Came home and jumped into the pool. Its temperature is the same as the air so it wasn’t much help, but it did feel good to float around a bit.

Out internet here in our community keeps going in and out. We all have Century Link here … it’s part of our home owners package…but Century Links serves is terrible no matter where you live. I was in the middle of watching the Wimbledon women’s semi finals when the tv quit and I wasn’t a very happy camper.

I need to pick up a prescription for Sweetie in a while and there is a Chinese restaurant right near it… think that’s what Sweetie is having for dinner. I was able to get all my flight and hotel reservations done so that’s off my mind. Now I just need to reserve a car for the time I’m there.

I can cross that off my list.

Sweetie has a referral appointment for his sleep study on Monday and it’s close to a huge food and store complex. One of our favorite places to eat has moved there since the hurricane. It’s quit the drive from our house but the food is great and it will also give me a chance to scope out some of the stores there

I will do my best to put this behind m, but my body was reacting all by itself before I was able to leave the house this morning and last week. Thankfully my stomach settled down once I started getting my keys and my purse ready to go out the door.

Salmon casserole ingredients are just waiting for me to add the cooked pasta (shells) and they will be ready by the time I post this and stand up. Oven has preheated.

RRose, we have the same provider. For 2 days I have been struggling with my internet. Tech support is only there 8AM to 6PM and it seems to go out every evening. It went out yesterday afternoon but came back on by itself. Last evening, nothing again. It was squirrely this morning too but has worked so far all day. I tried the programs to troubleshoot and what it determined was "the device or resource (wpad.Home) is not set up to accept connections on port "The World Wide Web service (HTTP)". But I don't know about any of that... and after 6:00 the phone number to call says it's after hours and one must connect to tech support at a chat addy.....which is a dot com and does no good if one's internet is down. The messaging I was receiving on that phone number was an automated response because 2 nights in a row I got the exact same messaging. I used a word that was different than my choices and it didn't understand. Automated nonsense.

RRose, today I looked it up online and people all over, especially in your area are complaining over and over about their service. To be honest, I have never had trouble with this service. I don't get a lot of buffering either. So at least here, the speed is adequate. However, I'm not using it for TV viewing, though I watch a lot of videos in the evening on my computer. Everybody who was reporting outages was saying that their reports were that nothing was out. Yeah, definitely not true. It would help tremendously if they would just tell the truth about what's going on. I fussed with the computer for long time trying to troubleshoot...probably something I had no control over.

One person who was reporting outage said she had a message from someone that it was an equipment failure by c link. Mine seems to happen more at night / evening.

Lab test this morning, and I was supposed to be out of the house at 7:45 and I totally slept through the alarm at 7. I'd asked DH to call me if I wasn't up...he gets up earlier than that. So in a rush as I came out he said he'd forgotten. I did go down there and they just put me at the end of their Q so I had to wait, but I always wait like this even if I'm on time! Since I always wait, I wish they'd been a little nicer about it. I never got feisty with them when they make ME wait. :(

Anyway, I fasted for a long while from last evening to this morning and my tummy is still upset from all that. I did go back and take a nap because I was up real late fussing with the computer....but even after I ate my tummy is still off.

I think the slowness of my computer is not our fault, but something within the carrier's situation. They're probably waiting for a part from China!

(cathy) not fair. Why can't people all just be nice?

LadyM, I love using a tablet or clipboard. But that's just me. No outages with a pen and paper. No missing tech support. I have a pencil sharpener and loads of pens if mine runs out. Easy-Peasy. And don't I sound dumb!!
