It is going to be a good day today. I am thankful for so many things and I don't want to let myself be distracted by trivial things. I am acknowledging the trivial things but not letting them become the focus of my day.

DS14 is working 2 jobs today. This is after we discussed him taking some time off but then he changed his mind. On the positive side....He is staying out of trouble. :) At 9:55pm last night I told him to choose....he could continue to work on dirt bike with his friend or he could work tomorrow (today) but he couldn't do both. He chose to work today, so he stopped working on the dirt bike and came inside to sleep. This morning he woke himself up, showered and went out the door to work before 8am. He is self-driven in his eagerness to work. Not a single one of his friends come anywhere near his work ethic. He is on a path of his own choosing.

I have a rash slowly spreading. Thursday night I noticed it on the back of my right knee. Friday it was on the front of my knee. Today it is on my neck, stomach, and shoulder. I decided to visit the walk-in clinic until I remembered I have some steroids on hand. I'll take those and be extremely conscious of where I touch to hopefully stop the spread.

I am going to do some cooking today. I want to get several breakfast options ready to eat.

As usual, our day starts early and we are in bed by 9. I was up before 7 on a Saturday. Veggie garden was watered before I got up. We tried to go to breakfast on our way to get groceries and they weren't going to be open until 8 and we got there at 7:30. Grocery store opens at 8, and when we got there at 7:50 they were just opening their doors because the parking lot was full and there were people lining up to go in. We stopped at the same restaurant on the way home and they were packed and we got the last table.

After we finally got back home I took a zucchini to a friend's place. Her partner was outside and said she was in the shower, so I just gave it to him. Stopped at a tiny bakery on the way back home and they didn't have any soft ginger cookies, which is the only thing I buy there. Came home and dh is fast asleep.

We are having BBQed home made burgers for supper.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Morning….

Posting while I’m on my gazelle :D

Had. Great time with friends last night playing trivia at our club house. Our group of 8 came in third place and I didn’t make a fool of myself with some of the answers.

Got up this morning with a migraine but I was able to kill it with meds. Fold laundry while watching tv. Ordered water shoes for Sweetie for the beach. Our beaches here are full of shells, some small some bigger and Sweetie is very tender footed which makes it hard for him to walk on the beach. Hopefully we can head to the beach next week.

Tonight I am going to karaoke again. Asked Sweetie if he minded me being out of the house for two nights in a row and he said he was happy I was finally making friends. I stayed up late last night because I do t have to get up early on the weekends to go to class…. Kind of like when I was working.

LadyM … hope your rash disappears. And Harmony aren’t you loosing weight working out in this heat? I have to be careful now because I think the heat may be contributing to my headaches.

Nancy… you remind me that I need to work on my planner. I have several projects I want to attack during the next few weeks so I need to write down my thoughts.

When I redid my closet the other week, I also worked on a drawer in my bathroom that seemed to be always in a mess. Happy to report they too still look exactly like the day I redid them. Happy with the progress I am making with these projects.

Waving to y’all… Blessed hope your dh is doing better

Deep Breath.

Ds just called and I start at 7 tomorrow morning with dgs2, who will be here for 3 days. I'm very tired and have 3 events today (dh has 4) so am feeling overwhelmed. At least I worked hard getting the apartment cleaned before I left so my weekly houseblessing is optional on Monday. And I've worked really hard since getting home and all laundry is done and 85% of stuff is put away, maybe 90% but I still have to check out the car and see what is left, tucked in corners, to come upstairs (and get the car seat back in for dgs.)

Nancy, thank you for the kind thoughts for our last day of travel. We were blessed with luck with the weather. The forecast was for heavy rain and thunderstorms the whole way. We loaded the car at 9 without rain, charged the car and ate breakfast at 10 with no rain, took an hour long break (so dh could nap) at 2, not only in no rain but actual sunshine so I went for a walk around and around the big box store parking lot, and then got in and out of our local grocery store with no rain. In between we had 4 or 5 episodes of dramatic rainfall blinding us but none lasted for more than a few minutes and none happened on crowded highways.

This morning, as we were getting up we heard the news that NS suffered (is suffering) bad flooding from the storms. White Point has no power and no phone lines. Highways we needed and many secondary roads are closed. Dfs is actually in New Brunswick now, so he's ok and says it doesn't sound like there is much flooding around their home in Halifax so they are staying away as long as possible (since the highway home is closed.)

The drive home yesterday was a bit better. I was still really bored and the 4:40 drive ended up taking us 7:40. But we avoided the worst of the traffic around Montreal and when the going was stop & go, it was in a very picturesque rural area with charming farms (avoiding traffic by taking rural roads.) The delays were mostly because of 4-way stops at secondary road junctions.

The fancy inn in Quebec was lovely but we were only there 16 hours and asleep for 8 of those. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river, the bridge from the island to the mainland and a glimpse of the top of the Montmorency Falls, which was beautifully lit up at night. Both the day and night views were lovely. Dinner was amazing but very expensive. I had pork hock and meatball stew plus cream of broccoli soup. Dh had a charcuterie board and a pork and wild rice dish. He had lemonade (had to send the first back because they put grapefruit juice in their lemonade) and I had a Shirley Temple. Total with tip was $150. There was no breakfast so we hit the road at 9, and bought milk while charging the car and had breakfast in the car. (I traveled with cereal and bowls and cutlery.)

When I got home I was able to hit the ground running and got all the unpacking done and 2 loads of laundry done. Dinner was leftover pizza heated up. And we were in bed at a reasonable hour but I slept poorly because there was the sound of running water all night. It was the people upstairs.

Dh reported it stopped at 6:10 this morning when he heard someone get up to the bathroom. Apparently they were unaware they left the tap on all night. I was well aware and had to sleep with sounds in my ears to drown out the running water sound. Dh asked why it bothered me. Well, I was worried it was a broken pipe that would damage our bathroom and then we'd have to put up with more repairs. Plus the sound made me want to go pee (which I ended up doing 2x in the night.)

Now I have to get something to an apartment downstairs and then head off to dd's for her Christmas in July party. We'll leave that early because we have a 3 p.m. event here and then a bbq on the patio downstairs. At 7 dh is off to a neighbourhood hootenanny but I'm too tired now to go and don't want to overdo things due to my early start in the morning.

I have been thinking on how to not hate the out door kitchen area and workspace on the patio. So I have been cleaning and doing some thinking, maybe I could paint that piece had to look up if I could as it had been stained. Yep sanding is involved, then wipe it down after that primer & finally painting unless I can find paint with primer in it already. Then I had to think of colors and had pieces of small furniture stools crated side table to put there and see a visual of colors. So I am thinking that this will be my Aug. project and see what I can do in the mornings on it. I realize I still do use it.
Oh and for today the color choices have been narrowed down to grey being the first choice and possible sage green.

Glad for left overs and I do not need ak plan for meals as I have food in the house.
I need to up my veg. intake and keep hydrating and we are still in near century mark range today.

Posting without cuop; I'm almost a week behind here.

Sunny & hot here today so I'm doing the usual summer ritual of keeping drapes & blinds closed on the side of the house that is getting sun at the moment. I do the same on the opposite side of the house in the afternoon. Works well to keep the heat out. We went to a festival last week & had fun but it was oh so hot. I had on a tank top, shorts & my hair was clipped up. We didn't feel overheated as there were lots of shaded areas, but we were both dripping. Still, we had fun. I saw a woman with her foot & ankle in a medical boot who was getting around by resting her bent knee & entire lower leg with the injured foot/ankle on a skinny wheeled cart with handlebars. It let her walk on her good leg & put the weight of her other leg on the cart so she could walk upright but not put any weight on the injured foot/ankle. Wonder if that would work for you, blessed ?

!!NANCY!! I was enjoying some of your short videos (your new deck is beautiful & such a pretty color) when I came across the one with the small purple flowers. The music that is playing in the background is a song I have been searching for for MONTHS. I want to get piano sheet music for it but couldn't remember the name of the song. I thought it was a Sonatina by a composer named Clementi but after hours of listening to the beginnings of Clementi videos on Y ou T ube & looking at pics of sheet music being sold online I gave up. I was so excited to hear it on your channel :) . QUESTION: -- Do you have any information on that song? Title, composer, link to it -- anything? If so could you please post it here? Thanks so much in advance. :)

My project for today will actually take up more time than just today. I brought up from storage a big bag of misc pictures that belonged to my late dmil , plus her big, long 3x5 recipe box. It's time to go through those & declutter most. I'm hoping to find a few specific recipes that I remember dh liked when she would have us over for dinner.

DH is on his way to the local farm stand for tomatoes, corn & cucumbers. Yum. I could live on tomato sandwichs in summer, & dh could eat corn with dinner every night. Dinner is leftover stuffed meat & cheese jumbo shells.

~~~~Waving to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Hello! I have had a busy morning.
Kathryn, my goodness you have been busy. I hope you are feeling refreshed after your busy vacation.
It is 97° right now but I got most of the outside work done before it got so hot. I got the double doors scraped and wiped of any glue residue and I tried to work on the hood again...but did not make very much progress there. It's as good as I can get it. I put the sign I made inside the front window and duct-taped it there. It's easy to read and we won't have to bring it inside every time it looks like rain.
I took the returns to HD, stuff we had bought for the vents that didn't work out. So that is out of the way. When I got back I painted the letters on the bigger sign we will put in the front yard. It was a nicely framed one we had used for selling the old house and DH repainted it white yesterday. Without tables of stuff in the front yard, I want people to be sure this is the place to look for sales. I still have to do the signs for the intersections at the road. There are 3 of them. Could not find a similar truck for sale, this age at least...but I got a feel for what it's worth and DH and I talked about it today. He just went by on the lawn tractor and it is making a funny sound. Oh no. Not more work on that thing now. :x
Ok, I guess I'll go paint those signs and while I'm here I might look for legal forms for selling this truck. I'm being optomistic here!
