Tuesday Two-For
What can you double up today to help with productivity?
Combining errands with visits (or just combining errands so there's only one trip out.)
Or, in my case, walking to my appointment so that my exercise is built into the appointment time (and doesn't get skipped again!)
Can you run laundry while mopping?
Listening/watching something you wanted to see while exercising or doing housework?
Can you talk on the phone with someone while doing the mending or another quiet task?

Re: Tuesday Two-For
So far today I have taken out the garbage and recycling and the small bag from the counter compost bucket. While I did that, dh replaced the bag in the bathroom garbage can. We talked about supper, which will be reheated spaghetti and sauce from last night. Dh also said he had a lot to do and when I asked him, he said there were enough tires to take a load to the landfill, but he couldn't think of anything else.
I am also tackling get the dishwasher emptied. There are 2 plates to put back in.
Whole-y mole-y!! I can't tell you how many typos I've had to correct in this post already, plus three in this sentence, so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead! Sheesh... my fingers just can't hit the right buttons this morning...

Re: Tuesday Two-For
My two-for today will actually be a three-for. I'm walking 30 minutes to the pharmacy where I'll get my Covid booster and flu shot. And then the 30 minutes home (unless I'm feeling ill, in that case there are buses that run along the route.)
That will hopefully make up for missing my 30 minutes of walking yesterday.
Yesterday fizzled. My nap didn't go well and I stayed prone for far too long, scrolling. I think it was too late in the day (it was at 3:30 which is my normal walk-reminder time, instead of 1ish which is when I felt really tired but pushed through to do the vacuuming.) While napping, I developed a headache which I still have. Not severe but noticeable. I had an evening meeting that I did on zoom instead of in-person which had been my plan (and a way to get that walk in.)
Today my afternoon is shot. I'll shoot for the nap at 12:45 because my appointment is at 2:15 and it is a 35 minute walk according to google maps and I've never been to this pharmacy so I want to get there early.
So far this morning, I've cut up my melatonin into 1g servings, made the bed and, in my regular two-for, put away the clean dishes and taken my morning vitamins while the kettle boiled and then my tea steeped.
My tea and chocolate is now combined with light therapy so that's another two-for.
My morning (after s2s) will be a two-for listening to a YT lecture that dd wants me to listen to. She's overwhelmed with dgs7 refusing to go to school or then refusing to do any work at school. Professionals are slowly getting involved including an OT who will come to the house (since dd objects to lots of appointments in the office because of the time spent commuting by bus there, I wish she'd just buy a car.) I finally decided that I needed to try and step in and offer to help, for example, volunteering in dgs' classroom. We'll see if she'll take me up on it. Her first 'assignment' was to listen to this lecture. I'm nervous that it will be a waste of time since it wasn't assigned to her by the OT but the OT is at least aware dd is now thinking this explains all of dgs' problems with school.
So one load of laundry, the kitchen weekly chores, and perhaps potting up some plants (before the mopping!) will be my morning. Walking and taking care of my health in the afternoon.
Cathy: good morning. I can relate to having to retype things. Not today but some days I read over what I've written and wondered what my brain is up to since it obviously isn't sending signals to my fingers.

Re: Tuesday Two-For
I feel like I might need to triple up. I have a houseful of people coming tomorrow night and my day, like yesterday, is chock-full of other busy-ness.
Yesterday after body work I realized I didn't have my little wallet - had changed purses on Sunday - so came back home, had lunch, got sidetracked a bit, and headed back out. I got groceries and went to the post office. I'm feeling like the grocery store is already showing signs of holiday busy-ness - lots of shoppers, a lot of Instacart people. Took awhile.
Back home, I had heard from dfriend M asking me to feed and walk dRuby around four p.m., so I went ahead and walked Millie, then went to M's house to feel and walk Ruby. I hung out with her on the porch and snuggled a little. She is so sweet, and I don't get to spend time with her with Millie is around. Then I was back home less than an hour before time to meet dh for dinner out.
So yesterday afternoon was shot running around.
Today is more of the same busy-ness. I have my workout at eleven, and need to get by temple before then with a check. After the workout I need to get home to watch the report writing Zoom which goes until 3:30. Not sure if dfriend M will need me to walk dRuby again today.
At least dh is out in the evening, so if I can work up some energy I can get some things done then. Or I may just collapse.
Lasagne and salad ordered. I have enough of the nicer plastic plates and clear plastic cutlery from RH left over, so that's good.
The day is underway. Right now, priorities are:
-walk dog
-s2s
-breakfast
-other a.m. routine
Hahaha, Kathryn, we are thinking alike if we're going in triples today. (Also, I should get RSV shot and pneumonia shot myself.)

Re: Tuesday Two-For
Good morning
Kathryn - Thanks for opening the SHE village today. I think of you as our mayor, making sure all the village parts and pieces are working well. I am thankful for you and the effort you do every day.
DD12 decided she was ready to return to school. She has only tested covid negative, and her symptoms have disappeared. She wanted to get back to her friends and limit the amount of make-up work she would have.
DS15 is still testing positive with a strong and vivid blue line. We can't pretend it might be reading something other than positive. His girlfriend and her brother were testing negative with home tests so went to the doctor yesterday. They both tested positive at the doctor's office and were told to stay home until Thursday.
I continue to be confused about covid testing. The doctor offices have different covid tests than the home test? Visually they look the same. The doctor's office results take 10 minutes like home tests. Maybe DS15 girlfriend parents were doing the test wrong? They tested 5 times at home so I would think one of would have shown positive at home if it showed positive at doctor office.
ANYway, DH, DS15 and I continue to limit our activities outside the home for another day.

Re: Tuesday Two-For
Good morning!
Sorry to hear your DS is still under the weather, LadyM. I suppose it’s possible the doctor has a more sensitive test, but it’s equally possible it was the testing method — they’re certainly more practiced at the doctor’s office!
Yesterday did not go as planned. My nutritionist appointment went without a hitch, and I did manage to get to my book club on time, but the groceries were a fiasco!
Usually they text a couple of hours ahead of pickup time to let you know they’re picking your order and ask about any substitutions. We had a huge order, so when it was 2, and we hadn’t heard anything ahead of our 3:00 pickup time, I was getting worried. Finally, I got a call, not a text, from the store, saying they were short staffed, and would it be possible for us to come around 4:30? They texted around 2:30 to start the order, and the last text I got was about 4:30, then nothing — usually they tell you when the order’s done and totaled. So finally at 5, I texted them and asked if things were ready. They got back to us about 5:15; by then, it was too late for us to drive to the store, get loaded, and be back in time to pick DD up from work. As it was, I’d been texting with friends to see if someone could drive me to book club while DH took my van, but things were running so late that DH dropped me on the way to get the groceries. He apparently had nearly an hour’s wait once he got there!
Worse, I was short one ingredient on dinner, so it couldn’t be finished till the groceries were unloaded!
A friend drove me home from book club, and when I got in, they had just finished eating. Oof.
Today should be much easier. My two-for is driving; I will drop DD at the library on the way to take DC to the college, then pick her up on my way home. Other than that, I’ve got nothing to take me out of the house.

CI ~ No heat yet they are by the river which is miles away from me.
I am glad for the new roof and underlayment made for a better week for me.
However that said sigh it is no longer fun. They are 75% done with the re-liting as of last nigiht
Area schools are up and running yea for that.
But I did get a lot of writing done this morning.
Might be soup day.
I have the trash to the curb and qt and am journaling done,
Planner with done list not b/c I have not done much but writing about future & forward planning.
Glad for that because I was struggling to even think about it.
In a bit I have a tote I emptied out and will put the holiday items in it that I brought upstairs.
Nope on the two fer I
I had to shet my robe b/c I was sweaty.
Idid shots like K in C last year and totally regretted that even my dr. said to not get em on the same day going forward it
it really hard on the system.
Have not left my neighborhood in at least 5 days maybe more.

Re: Tuesday Two-For
Mopped bedroom living room and swept the hall way because there were some leaves on the floor from outside.
They played "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot on the radio this morning, so to me it is officially November. I also had the vet's office call re Baby cat's annual appointment AND a picture of Baby cat came up on my memories on my FBook page.
The Bills lost the football game last night and it reminded me of Dee, so that made me a bit sad because we all miss her so much.
Dh has taken some parts back to one of our suppliers. I have some time at home alone, therefore I am on the computer...

Re: Tuesday Two-For
yesterday I was out of the house all day. lots of errands are now done.
house mmmm
dd younger is back! the dogs are thrilled!!!!
I brought mom and dd's dog with me to the airport. My goodness, I wasn't sure who was happier to see each other - the dog or dd - I had to laugh as it took ten minutes for dd to talk to mom and I. so funny and so cute to see the dog being so happy!
------------------
The girls keep telling me to not give up too much of my day to mom. I just know she doesn't eat a good meal or take her meds if one of us aren't there by noon and she needs to keep her mind with people at least once a day. Maybe what I will do is go there at lunch and bring her something to eat and check her meds then pick her up for dinner when she stays home.
I am also going to check activities at her place.
--------------------
I love inspiration!
Today I heard Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone say that she has been a "Keeper of the home" for 16 years. I love the idea of being the "keeper of the home". I have always loved the idea of being a homemaker as a career.
I also love that she asks herself :"Am I in motion or am I being productive?" I too have found myself being in motion instead of being productive. I thought that was interesting! "Motion vs progress". I can be very busy planning - raising chickens on paper without really accomplishing things that really need consistency and routine.
