Hi Twins' Mom! Thanks for opening the village today!

I washed 2 pots as soon as I made dh his coffee this morning. There were some leftovers in one of the pots, and as soon as I asked dh if they were garbage, I cleaned out the pot and washed it. There was also a single plate in the sink and that got rinsed and put into the dishwasher.

Dh is beyond bored with being at home playing computer games all day, every day, so he has gone to a local employment center to look for a job of some sort. I think he's given up on working from home. The phone isn't ringing at all.

Tonight we are having leftover steak and baked potatoes from Sunday night. Dh is on a new med and it's finally kicked in, so he has less of an appetite than he used to have.

Almost forgot... I also took out 2 bags of garbage and cleaned one litter box. I'm kind of bored just stitching and reading.

I might toot the horn a little for the HOA work yesterday. I got it done and got through the meeting unscathed. A neighbor came by for a bourbon with dh after, I visited with him and ate my dinner (salad, which I made before the meeting) after. I had over 10K steps, and I probably did too much with my left wrist/hand because that's achy.

I was up by 7:30 this a.m. and yet I'm not getting a very fast start this a.m. Dh worked out this a.m. and came back through for his shower. I've walked the ddog and am just now eating my brunch.

Gotta get moving.

Ah, a ta da! I got garbage out before 8 a.m. - so afraid I'd forget and they would come early!

Good Morning!

Lots of changes are happening in the SHE village. Workouts, job hunting, etc

I did my first-thing-in-the-morning mile walk. This is day 3 and it felt easier.

DD13 and I are filling out "5 things I will do today" papers daily. These 5 things do not include tasks on our regular cards. I encourage us to list 5 fun things that bring joy. It forces us to be intentional about our day instead of letting life happen to us. It also gives some good feelings as things we want to do are accomplished.

DS15 has left for work. His boss came to town and picked DS15 up this morning, so I didn't have to deliver DS15 there. #Thankful. Typically DS15 drives one of his boss older work trucks while he is there. Yesterday the boss had DS15 driving his new pickup (2024 90k) and DS15 accidentally put a dent in it when he was backing up and didn't see a pipe sticking out of another pickup. OOops. DS15 called me in a panic when it happened and I talked to him until he calmed down. DS15 told his boss about the blooper and offered to pay to have the pickup repaired but his boss shrugged his shoulders, shook his head back/forth giving a negative and told DS15 it would be okay. Then he had DS15 drive when they went somewhere the rest of the day while the boss sat in the passenger seat. I am hopeful this experience has taught DS15 how easy and fast accidents can happen even if you are trying to pay attention. DS15 has over confidence in his driving skills and thinks these skills can trump anything that happens. Obviously Not.

LadyM, I like your five things list.

I am having body work at 11:30 - soon! Afterwards, I need to go to grocery store, cemetery bank, check HOA post office box and get my car washed. I'll have a snack back home then go to workout. Dh is bowling tonight - he took off the summer from the Sunday night league but not Tuesday night. I'll plan on a salad for my supper again.

I had to skip being here yesterday because it was a busy day.

I got off only 35 minutes late yesterday. Getting the cottage ready to leave meant washing up and putting away the dishes, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, stripping and remaking the bed, putting out fresh towels, packing food, clothes, dirty linens, loading the car, adjusting windows (these are bottom-up or top-down so they are left down a few inches at the top under the eaves), taking out the garbage and putting the recycling in the car. So I'm pleased I did as well as I did.

The night before I finished reading the book so the two biggest to-do's on my list for that trip were accomplished. I made medical appointments for myself in the morning before I shut down my computer.

I drove home easily enough, stopping at the half way point for a snack and stretching my legs. I stopped again at Costco and picked up groceries for dinner and to restock the fridge a little bit.

I had left my cart in my parking spot (against rules but tough) and so brought up the food and anything else I could carry with my first load and then took down the wagon and managed to get everything else (including the recycling) in the second load. I hit pay dirt with the elevator on the way up, getting the one that also opens in to the recycling room so I dropped off the recycling and picked up the mail before coming upstairs.

Dh landed in Ottawa only minutes after I got home and made his own way home from the airport. That meant everything was put away by the time he arrived here (but I hadn't yet started the laundry.) I started the laundry, then we had dinner when he unpacked and I had a community association meeting, finished 2 loads of laundry, and then went to bed early.

This morning I was up early (woke up after 7 hours in bed but stayed in bed another hour) and then my day sort-of fell apart. I'm s2s, recut my bangs (they weren't straight from last week when I got them), trimmed toe-nails, and kept going with the laundry (one load awaiting folding, second ready to hang up to dry, a surprise 3rd load ready to start.)

I'm heading over to dd's this afternoon to see the kids and pick up some monitors I ordered and shipped to her place in case I was away when they arrived (which I was, so I'm feeling smart.)

My goals for the day are paperwork oriented, processing a week's worth of mail. And returning to my neighbour the two books I finally read after many months. They were wonderful and an easy read, I just have trouble settling down to read. The cottage is full of books to my taste (as I said, the owner and I are very much alike) so I've set aside 6 to try and read while I'm there. I have a couple of others from the residents' library to take up with me as well.

I'm making steady progress. 1 of my 5 things is done. Three of the five are in progress.

I keep seeing people rave about ice cream made with cottage cheese. There is an abundance of recipes for it so I decided to try it. I chose to make mine higher protein than most of the recipes I saw. My ingredients were cottage cheese, Fairlife milk, strawberries, drink flavor enhancer and protein powder. I don't have an ice cream maker, so I used a handheld blender to get everything mixed well and frothy. The mixture reminds me of a protein drink. It is in the freezer now and I will stir it every few hours until it freezes. I will know how it turns out in a few hours. I will eat it for my last meal of the day.

I had a fun day…

Got up, did my routines and picked up my footprints. Took a shower and got dressed in a pair of navy and white flowered pants with a navy top. I was going to a luncheon and a fashion show and I got many compliments on my outfit.

Course it’s poring rain so I had to roll up my pant legs so they wouldn’t get wet while I had to walk to and from the car plus walking from the parking lot to the restaurant. The event was held at one of my favorite places to eat and I really enjoyed my meal. Course I ate more than my meal plan so I need to get in all my steps in a while

Hope my bunny found some high ground to shelter in because it’s been teaming rain for most of the day.

I'm coming back through here and having my snack. I didn't plan well, I guess when I've run errands after my body work it's been a 10 a.m. appointment. So I didn't have enough time for all. I got to the post office and bank. Grocery and car wash to be done on the way home from my workout.

Whoops, ran out to my workout and didn't get this posted earlier. Back from workout, grocery and car wash.
