Hi! Thanks for the start Twins' Mom!

I was up too early!

Compost and recycling are at the end of the driveway.

I went to the landfill with a load of tires and garbage.
I also got gas in the truck and a bag of cat litter.

Dh's trailer is totally redone and it looks great.

Supper tonight will be turkey thighs cooked on a sheet pan with potatoes and onions.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Good Morning!

I am aiming for a double thumbs up type of day.

LucyLee - What a difference that one man (started job fair) made in so many lives. WOW! Just WOW! And look at you staying so many hours to help and give support to those seeking employment. Double Thumbs Up to you.

RE: Timing of bath/shower with adding in early morning mile walk. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is go outside and walk a mile. Then I start my day. Otherwise, I am the queen of procrastination. After the walk then I open the kitchen and do personal AM cards including shower/bath.

Kathryn - What a heavy schedule you have today. I hope it all goes smoothly and receive good medical results.

Checking off one thing after another.
** Texting back/forth with DS15 about hat. I am tired of seeing him wearing the same dirty hat. His first pick didn't make mywhat-I-will-spend-my-money-on cut. His 2nd choice was acceptable to both of us. ordered hat for DS15.
** Chatted with medical equipment place about getting DH diabetic shoes replaced. They are working the order from doctor and will let us know when shoes arrive.
** WAtered garden and harvested peppers & tomato.
** made breakfast wrap and enjoyed that meal.

We slept a bit longer than usual so I had a good sleep and woke up ready to go.

I usually have my tea and chocolate and then eventually (sometimes past noon) get dressed. Instead, today I got dressed as soon as I got up and good thing too. At 7:05, ds called to ask if I wanted to go for a walk. By the time my tea was made, he and dgs were at my door and we walked over to the park to let dgs play and we sat and chatted. On the way, I did my morning delivery at the building across the way. They left at 8:45.

I then got to work on a financial investment question. Our capital gains tax rules are changing at the end of the month plus we have a small position is a runaway stock that is now worth 14% of our net worth so I had to decide if I was going to sell some of that in order to realize 'real' profit and if so, how much. Doing it this week actually won't save us any taxes over waiting until the new rules come in because we aren't selling everything. But since I had no idea I had so much potential wealth tied up in one stock I had a lot of thinking to do in order to get comfortable with the tax bill we'll have next year. (I really don't pay attention to our account statements, they are all in a cloth grocery bag that I've taken up to the cottage to deal with at some point while up there.)

That's done now, I've had breakfast and I'll either continue working on papers or perhaps go for a walk. Dh is off at a music event but will be back in time to drive me to my doctor's appointment.

It is still teaming outside and has been since yesterday morning. I cancelled my dentist appointment for yesterday because at times it was raining so hard I could hardly see our street from our window. Didn’t want to drive in that kind of weather.

Early last night the sun came out for awhile and so did the bunny! It was good to see him munching on my grass. Bet he’s hungry after hunkering down somewhere out of the rain.

I e been feeling off the last few days not sure why… just tired and yesterday I kept falling asleep while watching tv. That’s not me.

Anyway it’s laundry day for me and I am well on my way.

LadyM… I’m like you in the mornings because I put off my exercise it won’t get done.

Lucylee… looks like you had a good day helping out with the work fair. Bet you’re good at it!

Buzzzzz… there goes my dryer

Cathy… have you read the new James Patterson book that you just bought! I just finished The Summer Housse and I thought it was one of his better books.

LadyM… I forgot to ask, I know your new recipe for your freezer has cottage cheese in it. What else and how did you make it. I know you said it was good

I've been piddling about this morning with some genealogy and also talked to dd (30 min or so) and dfriend V about her dh's birthday. We were inviting them for dinner tomorrow night but they have plans to go to temple already. Dh wants to be at home to watch the College baseball world series; Tennessee and Florida state (his alma mater) play tomorrow night at six.

Interruptions: also talked to another friend (who is quite chatty) for a few minutes. Dh called to see if I had talked to V while I was talking to dd. And dh has called me twice now. Admittedly, I've been down a bit of a rabbit hole but I still haven't made it upstairs to get my planner book (if indeed, that's where I left it yesterday) for the day. So I'm all over the place.

I'll need to leave for my workout in a little more than an hour. I'm going to finish off the email I was writing that sent me down the genealogy rabbit hole.

And get dh's dry cleaning to take to the cleaners. That's what I was supposed to write down in my planner.

Laundry of several little loads, as I've been finding or rescuing a few last clothing items for dd to take with her. These were difficult-to-launder items that got away from us time-wise, including a tee hand-screened by a friend that, IMO, needed very tender care.

Re-arranged the flowers from 3 vases into one consolidated arrangement, much from the wedding, some from my bday, still trying. Sent dsonil (smile) a photo of that.

There is so much more to do as she moves out. She and dsonil will drive in Saturday, dropping him at his house as she comes here. They'll each work on the smaller decisions in their respective rooms. At 5, we all go over to dd44's for a bday party.

Right now, ya'll would be amused at a large cardboard box being used as a rickety "table" in my kitchen, where a table will go when we finally choose one! You wouldn't think I could use it for much, but it actually helps for setting lightweight items as I cook, then very quickly clearing off! LOL!

Men's hats/caps - they must be important, or there wouldn't be so many in the closet that they never wear, yet one special one that's worn all the time.

We can't get HRH to wear any other than his "PePaw" hat from ds' children. Even they bought him another, but the "PePaw" is smaller on it, and in the form of an embossed strip of leather rather than embroidery, so he doesn't like it. I show him others with embroidery, but they are not exactly the same. He says not as easy to read. He's been extremely impressed by the children of strangers who have read his hat out loud and suddenly smiled or waved. He says it is child-speak for a seal of approval on an otherwise scruffy-looking old man. Hmmm... .. I should try again to find one.

I am disappointed in the cottage cheese high protein frozen treat. The first time I made it I considered it a success. The second time I got too adventurous in adding things and it wasn't as enjoyable. It was totally my fault for not following the recipe and putting 2 drops of Peppermint oil in the mixture. However, the thing that disappointed me was what happened when I left the frozen treat sitting and thawing. I started eating it but had to stop and take a teen some place. I thought the frozen treat would melt a little and be okay when I returned to finish eating it. But when I came back it had cottage cheese curd shape lumps in it. I know the mixture was totally smooth before freezing. I used high speed Vitamix blender so why did it return to being lumpy when it melted? Anyway....at this point I wouldn't recommend my recipe. I am going to eat the remaining one that is currently in the freezer but have no plans for using cottage cheese in future high protein frozen treats experiments.

I made chicken & triple cheese quesadillas for lunch. They were good.
