What will you be sticktoitive about today? Will you be tenacious to solve a problem or puzzle? Will you stick to your principles, your house rules? Will you keep trying to open that jar, whether it is easy or not? One way homemakers strengthen our households and families is that it is just really hard to get us to give up! Hang in there!

Sunny, in our Members your anniversary is mentioned, and it makes me think of the blessings we receive from the long relationships we have in our lives, and those of others. They inspire and encourage, don't they?

I need to get moving. I'm dressed because I thought I'd be over to deliver something across the street but then when I looked at my receipt I realized I'd paid too much. I'm going to the store today so I'll head pick the correct item up if it is cheaper. Either way, I have a delivery to make tomorrow morning.

I've got an A-river return ready to go so will walk over to the grocery store, the post office, the outfitter store (another return) and the bank. Thinking about it, I'll leave the store for last.

I need to make up a grocery list.

We are thinking of heading up to the cottage tomorrow morning so I should do some laundry.

And we'll be taking up the camp-cot bunk beds so I need to launder the sheets and set up another bed in the room for dgs when he's here. His mom says he loves his camp cot when tenting so we think it is because he uses the cot here.

The rest of the day will be paperwork oriented with a side order of packing.

Up several hours qt journaling & writing, had bfast.
Heat is on here 66* the hi. for today.
Cool & calm out is good fire is out as far as I can tell.

Kitchen fan is not working on the stove hood sigh ~
the place sells tv's too and that's been on my mind have had good success with them
& I would not have to install work on fix. Thinking on that. Praying for wisdom.

Good Morning!

So far my day has been filled with normal doings. I absolutely love normal life. There have been times in my life where I preferred the excitement and thrill of pushing all the boundaries to the edge and barely squeaky by. Now I appreciate a life with minimum drama, filled with love & friendship while doing things that bring me joy.

For breakfast I filled my big cast iron skillet with potatoes, onions, peppers, hot link and cooked them until the outside of ingredients were crusty while the inside was soft. Perfection. (IMHO)

I am making pizza dough to use later today. I want to give it several hours to rise.

I've needed sticktoitiveness to keep tending to outdoor plants, keep "everyone" watered out there, keep the schedule for other things like weeding and feeding.

Sometimes, I have to come back inside for a break from these temperatures and the hot sun, even in the mornings. But so far, I'm keeping up with it all and haven't lost plants.

Every day, the impatiens, which are always the "canary in the coal mine" for dryness or too much sun, droop through midday, but every day they perk back up. It's not that I haven't seen this cycle, it's just that it usually happens in late July or August.

Yesterday it hit mid-90s, and it doesn't look like we'll have a break from hot sun for days.
Ramblin', your rains are on our news (I realize they may not all be "yours"). I think it was a week ago you said there might be 13 days of rain - is that holding, or do you have a respite now? And btw, could you send us some?

HRH made a big meal of his spaghetti with spinach, onions and tomatoes. The aroma is so nice. I've put leftovers of that away - yum. Dd25 says she may want some while she's here working this afternoon.

Dsonil now says he will drop her here, head on to his parents' and then come back to meet us at the bday party.

Temp today is to go to mid nineties and sunny. We're to go to the river, dh thinks that dfriend V is planning to go to the pool. I suspect it's the only way to keep cool. They do have a shady deck and umbrellas, I hope there's a little breeze on the river. Not looking forward to a lot of outside time today, I'm a wuss since I was inside so much in the spring.

I went to bed before TN came back in the ninth inning last night. Dh was up, but asleep in front of the TV. FL State had led pretty decisively when I moved to bed but I checked the score before I went to sleep and it was 11 to 8, FSU up.

I had a delightful genealogy and family history lunch yesterday.

Gotta go, dh is waiting.

Harriet …I would love to send you some rain! Right now it’s overcast but not raining at the moment. It’s suppose to clear up, but not sure if we are done with the rain. Don’t know what the actual amount of rain yet as the weather people haven’t said anything, but my guess is 13+ for sure

I got up this morning and decided to treat myself with coffee in bed. Haven’t done that in a long time. I tried to sleep late cause I had no reason to get up. However by 6:50 I was up make coffee.

My night stand has three drawers and I decided to reorganize the the top where I keep my meds and before I knew it it was three hours later and had gone not only through all three drawers but also part of my bureau.
Glad it’s all done.

Just finished eating my life and am getting ready to do a small grocery run and also pick up a prescription.

Once I get home I need to get the rest of my steps in.

read info. on writing in the prompts book and been for my walk around the basement.
Walked.
Also Looked at the size of the TV that's down stairs newer, needs a card update what ever that is.
Went outside to water the plants in beds.

Hi!

We went and got some geraniums, petunias and a begonia for dh. After that we went and got 5 bags of dirt. I need some for the containers and dh wanted to top up parts of his veggie boxes. All of the flowers are going into various containers, including the 2 half wine barrels. I told dh this will all take 2 or 3 days to go from the mess currently in that part of the patio to the finished job. It's just so hot here.

The farmer is back in the field today with a large rake type machine. This one is orange and we can't see a name. I don't think it's a Kubota. There is a black strip with white writing and a number that is partly hidden. The driver is going extremely fast today.

We are having home made cheese burgers for supper. It's a gorgeous day here with a beautiful blue sky.

When i feel mentally/emotionally overwhelmed I find myself wanting to write things on paper in addition to typing in my digital journal (onenote). DD48 recent shenanigans have me heartbroken and deeply troubled so I feel the need for paper. Without a plan I grabbed an empty notebook and started writing an OMM list. Later I flipped a few pages over and made a NTBE list (need to be eaten) to track the ready to eat foods in the refrigerator. Without a plan or thought to organize the notebook I kept flipping a few pages over and adding a new page title for whatever category I was wanting to remember or track. When I found myself struggling to find the page with information I was seeking, then I added multiple colors of posten tape flags. I have no idea where the use of this notebook is headed but am just letting it happen as the need arrives. ANYWAY, all this jabber to say..... use whatever tools and methods that are helpful.
