Get Ahead Monday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Last night Harriet got a jump on Monday's list by doing a couple of things last night. Is there something you can do today to get ahead of tomorrow, or the rest of the week? Or the rest of the month/year?

Do tell what you're doing today, even if you're not getting ahead, or like me, getting more behind!

Dd came yesterday so I did some of the Mon. stuff ahead of that.
Up on time have done qt & journal stuff.
Looked up how to hook up cable to new TV. so that is a task for today.
& wash my hair.
Good news we got some rain in the night great for the fire fighters!
The cords are different so I will have to go check out the other TV but I tried.
-----
S2s happened hair is clean & still wet.

I got more cords off the back of the old TV
so the colored cords and cable with hoping I have the right ports etc.
new one is different and it's a 4g or 5 g world now too learning might be next or call em.
My kids are zero help bc they do not have cable LOL!

I cannot find where the color cords go might be because I have learned the co. is going wireless!
One other cord is on now I cannot tell a difference but did find one show on free tv part I listen to in the a. m.
a sermon and as I did I sorted items in holiday totes today and Christmas items are now in the red & green totes yea!
Sort of missing the old school manuals with diagrams on them for this stuff just saying! LOL!
Yes you can teach and old dog new tricks!

Got my hair combed out.

Good Morning!

I was up ang going around 6am feeling rested and ready to get started on my day. I am thankful for normal days, no drama and normal doings.

DH and I just returned home from dropping off our 2023 tax paperwork at the CPA office. We were there about an hour but 90% of that time was spent visiting and catching up on each other's doings. #TreasuredFriendship

I finally found a book that is keeping my interest. Almost too well. I was an hour late going to bed last night because I didn't want to stop reading. I have spent all my breaks today reading. Its historical fiction about Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, & Mary Work awhile.....Read awhile...Repeat

Good morning, Twins , Nancy , & Lady M :)

The best thing I can do to get ahead is to write an On/Off My Mind list today. I was so scattered last week & only did the basics. Using zones is always helpful to me so I don't bounce all around the house. I'm tentatively planning to go back to that July 1st, & use the remainder of the month to deal with mini projects in several rooms that are bugging me.

Twins, how does your wrist/arm feel these days?

Nancy, way to go on getting your new TV set up! I admire how well you troubleshoot & solve problems.

LadyM, dh was open to trying hard boiled eggs in his macaroni salad. We both love it! :) Thanks so much for that idea. I really like that there is protein in there now, plus it tastes delicious.

Harriet, I enjoyed reading about your dd25 wedding day. It was also nice to read about the helpful security guard at the wedding license building after dd & fiance's multiple runs to find the right place in time. I remember thinking that he should get a piece of wedding cake for his efforts

Lucylee, maybe consider asking if the more expensive monument place would match the price of the cheaper one?

Last week while waiting the last two minutes for the dryer to finish spinning I emptied a very large drawer (that had turned into a junk drawer) all over the counter in the laundry room. I remember feeling very unfocused & thinking about Pam & Peggy as I wiped it clean, but then -- I didn't want to deal with sorting through everything & putting it all back. So that's on my To Do list today. I'll wait until after lunch when temps are the highest as it's nice & cool down there.

Next up -- make macaroni salad (with egg! :) ) . Earlier I set out everything I need to make it (except the mayo), & even filled the pot with water.

Dinner will be salmon (need to thaw that), with leftover potatoes & broccoli.

Waving ~~~ to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I didn't get up until 8:45 this morning - the alarm at 7 seemed way too early so I turned it off, lol. I had breakfast and brushed teeth and scurried off to body work at 10 a.m. Back home, I walked the dog - she was devastated that I didn't do that earlier but I knew that dh had walked her too.

I need to evaluate my day. Back in a few minutes.

I woke up to discover that dh had been up for "2 hours" and he was waiting for me to wake up to make his coffee. Got that made right away. We discussed the youngest cat possibly being in the garage at night so she wouldn't wake both of us up starting around 4 a.m. every day recently. She pulled down the shower curtain this morning. It's on a pressure pole, so not hard to pull down. Sometimes you just need to touch the side of the curtain and it starts to come down.

Dishes are all done and away. Laundry is waiting to go into the dryer.

Temperatures today are expected to be above 100 with the "feels like" being above 40C. It's expected to be like this for most of the week. It's windy here, which is helping.

Dh would like rigatoni and meat sauce for supper.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I made it to class this morning, came home and did the rest of my routines. Then I took sweetie with me run some errands and when we came home I at my lunch.

Sweeties been laughing at me.. y’all know I love to read but if I sit I don’t always get my steps in. So yesterday I figure out a way to attach my kindle to my gazelle. That way I can read and get in some steps while doing that. Now I don’t feel so guilty about my reading time taking away from my walking time :D:

My chicken tetrazzini was a hit! Sweetie loved it and my friend did as well. Easy peasy and I guess it’s a keeper

Deciding whether I want to sit outside for a while. It may be just too darn hot even for the pool, but I forgot there’s a strong wind warning today so maybe that’s doable.

Waving to y’all.. this summer time is slipping by way too fast!

I need to think it through. Yesterday I was planning to go to the grocery today but dh and I stopped last night for the three things that I had managed to put on my list. So the "must have" item, milk for coffee, was procured. So perhaps should push off to tomorrow, especially since I'm not cooking tonight? On the other hand I could go to the plant nursery and look for annuals to replace the pansies. It's up to "feels like" 94 today, some of their area is shaded. OTOH, I forgot to ask dh to take the end of the beach stuff out of the car - I could at least do the two beach chairs and free up that space myself for groceries or flowers. OTOH, it's getting hotter while I sit around. And OTOH, I don't seem to WANT to do anything.

I wish I had thawed chicken this a.m. so I could grill it before the day gets hotter. Unfortunately I did no planning after we got home last night from dinner out with ds. I watched the Tennessee baseball game, another win, but no planning ahead. I did not get ahead and I feel like I have 14 tabs open in my brain today!

Decision:
-finish a.m. routine
-grocery run (I'd rather go see flowers but I don't have to clean out the back of my car)
-this afternoon work on genealogy (dh not home this p.m.)

I envy you cool and breezy, Nancy. It's hot and no rain in sight here.

RR, Wtg on weight goals! Can you send some of your persistence over here, please?

Cathy - We are right there with you in over 100F feels like temperatures. That is approaching dangerous hot. I'm sorta used to it now and doesn't bother me like it did the first few times. However, I am still very aware and make sure to not get overheated. As long as I am sweating, I feel okay.

I spent some time in the kitchen prepping fresh vegetables so they are ready to eat. If salad ingredients are washed, chopped and ready then I am more likely to choose them.

Plans are made for this evening.
** Drive 30 minutes to drop DS15 off at that city high school gym. DS15 will watch his girlfriend play 2 games of volleyball.
** DD13 and I will continue driving 10 minutes to WM supercenter.
** Shop for DD13 books and crafts items. Pick up items on Buy This list to restock pantry. Basically, just waste a couple of hours doing anything other than sitting in a HOT gym that has no a/c or air circulation. BTDT.
** Reverse the 40-minute drives. Pick DS15 up from gym & drive home. I am hopeful to be home by 11pm.
