Tuesday Tune-up PWYC

Tune-up: a general adjustment to ensure operation at peak efficiency

However, peak efficiency isn't meant to be working at top speed all the time, let's think of the adjustment we need to stay healthy, age safely, and keep our bodies strong, too.

What in your life needs a tune-up today?

I need a tune up on my hips. Arthritis is bugging me today. I was going to go to Walmart, but right now I'm in too much pain.

I've heard that "motion is lotion" and most days I just get up and get going, but it's raining out and windy and I just want to stay in my snug little house today.

I think we will have brats with onions and potatoes tonight.

I am struggling today. Do I need ADD meds? do I need a therapist?

I had scheduled body work for this a.m. since I'm busy next week with genealogy institute, and didn't get it on my calendar. So I have to push it off now to 1 August now and I feel terrible for missing it.

I lost my sunglasses on Saturday and can't find them. Not in my car, not in my purse. I'm pretty sure I wore them on the way to the wedding shower. They aren't at the church, and not at my cousin's house where I went after.

I am just generally having trouble getting things done. I think I have all of the article comments resolved except for one. My brain just explodes when I start to read it but I need to get through it today.

I am on a "chat" finding out why I owe $42.77 for a June Dr visit when I only owned 1.76 for the same visit in May. The May EOB showed that we had met our deductible in full. Yeah, no kidding. (Finally, resolved, a script for dh in Feb was adjusted and they sent him a refund ck, so the deductible wasn't satisfied and I owe now, lol.)

Also can't find our "tax file 2024" at the moment. I'm just all over the place.

I'm regrouping at the moment. I need to finish up the article today and get it back but the other papers/bills, etc. for HOA and cemetery need to be dealt with first I think. I'm carving off a tiny bit with the cemetery first.

Good Morning! Hopefully I won't be long winded and hit submit quickly. I only have a few minutes before it becomes afternoon.

I have been in/out and about several times this morning. All the accomplished doings become a blur after a while. Nothing spectacular or memorable about these trips. Just raising teens and doing the next thing.

I have a couple chicken breasts to cook today. I am going to drop them into the instant pot with potatoes and onions and then hit the start button and walk away. Quick. Easy. Simply.

Tomatoes. It is that time of the year when I am overwhelmed with tomatoes and peppers. IMHO this is a very good problem to have and I would be greatly disappointed if it wasn't happening. I am guessing there are about 70 large ripe tomatoes sitting on the kitchen counters while patiently waiting for me to process them. I need to find a good movie to watch or a tv series to binge and spend a couple hours processing tomatoes.

School prep. Taking tiny baby steps. Progress in any increment counts IMHO. I ordered 100 mechanical pencils to restock our school supply stash. DD13 goes through pencils at an incredible rate. She will grab a handful about once a week. Pick your battles. This isn't one that I am picking. I decline policing the pencils and asking her why she keeps using so many. She is making awesome grades so whatever she is doing is working for her. I will just make sure to keep the stash of pencils well stocked.

Well Sweetie got a tune up. Had to take him for his special blood work which was a long drive away. Came home and stopped at Walgreens to pick up my prescription. I had to laugh at that. Went to my headache dr yesterday and asked for a refill on my generic Vicodin which is a narcotic. Sometime I have a difficult time getting it refilled.

My PA looked at the last time I had it refilled which was last Oct for 15 pills. Said he could tell I wasn’t abusing it… ya think :D: Guess my insurance felt the same way.

Came home and worked out in my yard trimming plants and such. It was overcast with a cool breeze so I didn’t get too hot. Then I came in and ate my lunch.

Not sure what’s next.

Twins it sound to me like you’re on overload. When my past husband would push me to engage in entertainment with friends, especially on weekends after I had worked all week, I finally told him he was welcome to go by himself but I was staying home. You might want to have a conversation about his expectations once he retires now so you can set up some boundaries.

LadyM…my brother has a large garden and his main crop is tomatoes…in fact he’s known as the Tomato Man. Because he has such an abundance of produce he will often let this friends know so he can share the wealth. They love him for that and look forward to his tomatoes every year.

I'm trying to shake away cobwebs.

It has been a steady progress day.

Got the broken plant pot (taken out by a squall last night) cleaned up on the balcony, replanted the non-homeless plant (a pepper plant that has been struggling) in a super large planter than contained a previously killed-by-squall plant. Cleanup included cleaning the potting soil off the large cooler. As this is the second time I've had to do that this summer, I've moved the cooler inside. We'll use it tomorrow and possibly next time we go up to the cottage.

I s2s as soon as I could, packed a few more things, including all my clothes, ran a load of laundry so I'll have clean things when I get home on Sunday, and then picked up dgs3 downstairs from his parents. They went to formally enroll him in a day care nearby. It is a lousy deal for them (they have to drive 20 minutes past their work to drop him off) but it will be good for him and it is a specialty daycare for children of hospital shift workers so they'll take him insanely early in the morning.

He and I played while I listened to a meeting between the community association and the level of government who runs our beach and is reinvigorating it by building a new space, renovating the old one and redesigning a lot of the area around the beach but who have also had our access to the waterfront mostly cut off for 3 years now. The project will be mostly finished in the spring next year and proposed reopening will be June. As the waterfront is the majority of our green space in this neighbourhood, we've really missed having access to it. Another year and this will hopefully be over. The worst part is the beach was completely closed for the first year but no work was done at all, they just fenced off the beach and then did nothing.

Dgs3 left at 1 and I've done nothing much since then. I need to pack up the Hot Wheels because they are coming to the cottage with me (for both the other grands, and dgs3 since he'll be there for 8 days starting 9 days from now.)

I need to find some volunteers for the stuff swap and then pay bills and tidy paperwork, then I'll be ready to go tomorrow morning.

I'm back from workout and maybe my head is a little clearer. I fell while stepping there, was trying to change sides and missed the top step with my right foot. I am fine, but am a little sore already.

I am on overload, RR, and I'm struggling. I'm going to focus on writing things down and paying attention to the list. I need a card in my pocket for awhile for capture because I don't seem to think of things when I'm sitting here at my planner. And I need to do one thing at a time instead of several.

We are getting a pretty good rain; it's the kind of summer rain that has a distinctive smell when it starts. (And to demonstrate my focus, I jumped over and found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrichor )

First I am finishing a.m. routine, which didn't get done earlier. Will be back at :15 before the the hour. If I finish before the alarm, I'll do some paper-taming.

Exactly! I do the same when feeling overwhelmed. I hope it is helpful for you.

I am home from trip #?????.....I don't know. Thinking what I did this mornin gwith DS15...
** To/from work
** car wash to clean up his boss pickup
** flower shop to buy flowers for girlfriend celebrating their 2 month anniversary.
** store to purchase girlfriend favorite drink
** delivering flowers/drink to girlfriend.
** back home then returned to swim with girlfriend and family.
Looking at that it is only 6 errands. It felt like more.
COUNTDOWN = 20 days minus 6 days at camp = 14 more days until DS15 can drive by himself.

DH heart monitor fell off this morning. I strongly suspected it would not stay attached for 14 days. I contacted the doc office and they said to tape it back onto his chest. This is day #5 of a 14 day test. I have low expectations that this monitor is going to accurately capture data when it isn't securely attached. But then....I am not a trained medical person so I could be totally wrong.
