How are you making your lovely home a comfortable and comforting place for you, your household, visitors?
Many of us may not really need warm coziness right now, but that doesn't mean that curling up on the couch with a good book isn't a good stress relief.
Do you have views from comfortable spots in your house that assure you the dailies have been done? That comforts me, lol.
Are you making sure refreshing snacks or drinks are available? Enough ice made? Do you ever set up a fan, or rely on shades in a different way to give those little boosts to comfort?
If we're sort of pressed back into the house by impressive temps, we do hope it will be a pleasant retreat.

Re: Sunday Comforts
Hi Harriet!! Thanks for opening the village this morning.
We were awoken to a very loud thunderstorm part way through the night. We both went back to sleep. I didn't know that dh heard the storm and he didn't know that it had woken me until we were talking about it at the kitchen table earlier.
We sat at the patio table for a while as well. It's really windy out, so I came back inside. I need to turn on the dishwasher.
Dh will be having chili cheese dogs for supper. I might have soup. I haven't decided yet.

Re: Sunday Comforts
Good morning
Harriet - Thank you for the suggestion of ways to seek comfort.
I do enjoy sitting down in my comfortable recliner and putting my feet up. Each time I get to do this I can almost hear my body and mind making a relaxing & comforting AAhhhhhh sound.
DH and I went to early church. It feels good to be able to attend again.
Our ready-to-eat stash is fully stocked so I am not cooking today. I will spend time in the kitchen processing the garden harvest.

Re: Sunday Comforts
From the comfort of my Liv. room doggo alerted to 6 or 7 wild turkey in my front yard this morning!
We had a t-storm last nite before I bed not a bad one got rains too yea!
Some Out of My Comfort zone today also ----
Woke up with a toe cramp & power surge women of a certain age get sheets and pj's had to be changed and
Mattress is flipped did it myself! Family did not respond to my text for help and sheets were off & I knew I'd done it before so
I just prayed for heavenly help.
Deer To Go Food!
Then we walked a hill to get pic of deer w/ out success was great for my health how ever.
Was able to warn folks pulling a camper about deer & fawns they got to see em too!
Ddoggo alerted me for that too. The doe had an oak branch & leaves in her mouth so worth it!
So you get the mental pic of that! from your comfort zone.
Did some am qt stuff & journaling DP. a bit more to do.
On line church day for me.
I was going to make soup it's warm out so might change that plan.

Re: Sunday Comforts
I finally got the back yard mowed. There are tornado warnings in this area. One touched down in Ayr, Ontario yesterday, so that is the second one this month. The one near Fort Erie (across the lake from Buffalo) took the roof of a Rona store. This one took the roof off of a Home Hardware store. They both carry the same type of stuff, including stuff for repairing your roof, so I wonder if these tornados have some sort of game plan. Take out the home repair businesses!! LOL
Nobody was injured yesterday.

That is soooooo cool.6 or 7 wild turkey in my front yard
On my walk this morning I took a picture of a cat balancing itself on a fence rail. The cat was up high and intently watching a tall grassy area. I didn't notice it at the time I took the picture, but later DH pointed out the cat was using its tail wrapped around the fence rail to help balance itself. I love observing nature.

Re: Sunday Comforts
Ya'll are getting great photos of what's going on outdoors. Turkeys and tigers.
When I awakened this morning, all the dishes were done and the kitchen spiffed. I was expecting a lot of work because I just wasn't feeling well last evening and "let it go", but then HRH didn't sleep well and used his time that way. He says he wants me to see what he's done in his office, too, so I'll have to go get a small tour there sometime.
A quiet day here, which I think is good... .. hmmm... .. how many quiet days does it take for recuperation until you just get antsy. "Chasing" a non-existent fever yesterday afternoon again. Moments of kinda feeling feverish but just don't have one, washing the thermometer again. No after-effects of big take-out meal, so that must have been a reasonable choice. Weight didn't even budge, so the sodium balanced out with the rest of the day, I guess.
I've discovered a need in my wardrobe for chambray - lightweight denim maybe - shirts. I've been stealing HRH's during this time of going without a bra and they are great. I have shirts, but too thin. Knocks at door don't bother me if I have his shirt on over a tee, lol. But during the autumn, I can see them becoming a go-to.
Comforts - HRH makes sure to keep popsicles for the grandchildren. I have a fav spot I guess, on the couch, where tv is easy to watch with a spot for Tobias to nestle in beside my thigh. From there, I can see that kitchen is in good shape and mud room looks clear. I think those are reassuring to me and keep me where Tobias wants me longer, lol.

Re: Sunday Comforts
Harriet thanks for that insp. I have taken to undershirts
cannot find the size I need for under garment you mentioned in the restock in my 2 main go to stores.
I will look maybe in the larger plus sizes. I think it did over heat me yesterday sweats on bottom humid & in the warm jeep.
I have sheets in the dryer and clothes going. Kitchen is a fright but I'm only doing three things have cut my
tasks in half and resting today. Thankful for the chopping I did for my lunch salad today.
Rolls are not raising in time so they will be later on.
No worries for that.
Hydration is important did not do enough of that yesterday.
Called and got the Rx going for my meds. to pick up later on in the week.
Next a goal I've been trying to get it so I can do this with all of em at the same time yea for that accomplishment.
Before I would run out of one or the other first. Sorta pleased with myself on that! LOL!
I brought up the sunflower yellow tote it only had a few items that were lite weight inside.
Those are out sorted except for the foam pumpkins.
I may put the sunflower fabric in it if I do not use it.
I cut the corners off for table cloth but they are not a good choice for the deck dust wind & rain needed some thing different.

Re: Sunday Comforts
Nancy… you can buy undershirt, not tank tops in larger sizes in Amazon or Walmart. You have to look in the Tweens section. My mom was tiny and I bought her little girl undershirts. I wore undershirts all the time when I worked cause I got cold in the a/c. You can also buy camisole in those places as well as Target, but I liked my undershirt cause they were made of 100% cotton. They were something my mom and I would shop and hunt for when I would visit her. I still have a few in my dresser. Can’t seem to give them up
I set Einstein to work this morning and my floors look great. My nieces wedding was yesterday so I have spent much of this morning looking at pictures of the even and messaging many of my family members. Sat in the sun for a while.
Changes the sheets on my bed and washed the ones I took off. My tummy is still off so I’m being very careful with what I eat. Just finished a part of a banana and drinking ginger and turmaline tea.

Yep Ramblin is right I got mine in men's dept. that I like. I will check in the other dept. also,
Men's shirts is what I wear I"m rather broad shouldered doubt tweens section would fit.
I need to check the laundry again. sheets are folded & put away and next load is in the dryer now.
I've had lunch.
Ddoggo is napping now.
Finally did the last of my journaling for today.
Happy to say the treatments have helped my owie.
Rolls are in the oven now nearly done.
