Good morning

Twins - Thank you for the start today.

I am 2 hours into my day and on track with my daily doings. I sat down to enjoy a cup of coffee and get a game plan in place for the day.

(((LucyLee))) - My heart hurts for you as you are grieving and searching for what you want your next phase of life to be. Just be gentle with yourself. Keep searching to understand what YOU want. What you are going through is not easy. (((Hugs)))

DS16 boss has asked that he work earlier and do homeschool during the hottest time of the day. I have agreed to try that. The rule has always been homeschooling lessons completed before going to work. Now the rule is homeschooling lessons completed before friends & doing fun things. I am not sure this change will be a good one, but I am willing to try it.

My energy feels pretty good for the moment. I slept well. Dh is out of town now until tomorrow evening. Dmillie and I walked two laps, caught up a little with dfriend M while walking.

I have a dental appointment in an hour. Only need to brush teeth and wash face and head out in about 30 min.

LadyM, I can see why working in the cooler part of the day might be helpful. Once things cool off more perhaps you can revert back to the original schedule too.

And Lucylee, echoing all the thoughts here. Take your time and don't push, and tell those "shoulds" in your head to settle down. There are no shoulds right now. (Last weekend, when I melted down, I was hearing some excessive shoulds that wouldn't shut up. Don't give them free reign in your head!!)

I think I'll order my dinner from our favorite italian restaurant tonight and pick it up. I need to pick up some butterfly strips at the CVS across the street. Yesterday once the stitches were out they put steri-strips over the incision to protect it. Once home, I bumped it on a door way (ouch!!) and then after showering it didn't look like it was closed up well on one end. I found a single butterfly strip to hold it together, might have bled a little, and I'll need to replace the butterfly strip until it closes up well. Don't want a bigger scar than necessary there.

It is in the low 80'sF outside and feels marvelous. DH and I spent the last hour working in the yard just because we can. It was starting to heat up, so we went inside. It will be 104 later today.

While outside DH weedeated, troubleshooted one of the shop overheat doors and got it working (was electrical problem), and fixed a problem on the septic system (electrical). I set up and learned how to use the new power washer for the first time. I cleaned two sections of the concrete driveway. I have plans to power wash the house, but I wanted to start with something simple as I learn how to use it.

2 lbs of Pulled Chicken has been added to our ready-to-eat stash. DS16 breakfast this morning was dagwood type sandwich that he was eating as he left the house. It was a hamburger bun with chicken filet, 2 hamburger patties, 2 kinds of cheese. The sandwich was about 6" tall. Teenage boys can make food disappear quickly.

I bought 6 foot long buns and 6 foot long wieners this week just because it is something that I don't usually buy. I noticed they were gone withing 24 hours. DH and I didn't eat them. I don't know if DS16 shared with his friends, or if our 2 teens ate all 6 of them.

Next up -
** Water garden and harvest vegetables
** Make a pot of my soup.

Lucylee… this grieving over what to do about the football games and should you go because of past expectations would be a great issue to bring up at your support group. I guess what I would be asking myself is do “I” really want to go or is it a question of doing what you think your dh would want you to do.

This independent thinking for yourself is very new to you after years of always meeting other expectations. Be brave and do what you want to do and don’t worry about what you think are others expectation are of you. Most of the time what you think is what is important. Follow your gut and do YOU, not what others have done in the past.

I am sitting in the drs waiting room and it’s packed. Think I may be here for awhile.

Yesterday I took down a pair of drapes and washed and dried them. Then I ironed them. Fortunately they didn’t shrink. Will rehang them later today depending on my leg

Hi!

I set the alarm so I could get the compost out to the end of the driveway early. I decided I could wait another week and take 2 bags of recycling next week. Came back in, got undressed and got right back into bed and slept another hour or so. Dh left here an hour early to go for his back massage. It's not that far to get there, maybe 10 minutes. He always leaves so early to get to appointments and then grumbles when he has to sit and wait. He also expects his customers to be early for appointments with him and when they are late, they hear about it and sometimes he cancels their appointment.

No idea what will be for supper, but I've already made jello with strawberries and raspberries from our garden. Darn... I should have added a couple of blackberries. I'll have to do that next time. There are plenty of raspberries coming soon.

While dh has been at his massage appointment, I have vacuumed most of the house. I just have to finish the kitchen and do the bathroom.

LucyLee my husband is always telling me (please pardon the language) "Repeat after me, I don't have to do a G.. D... thing!!" whenever I say "I have to ..." Your DDIL is wise. You don't have to do anything.

Cathy, decorate it with blackberries! :D

Agreed - HRH is determined to be early to dr's appts, too, then complains the whole time, because of course you are still sitting in the waiting room when the actual minute of the appt passes. Our ophthalmologist practice is the worst for leaving everyone waiting so long. His appts are with a specialist who only comes to within about 45 mins of us, so of course he worries about traffic, leaves even earlier, waits even longer!

Dd44 called to tell us her excitement about "the latest season" of Death in Paradise, which we thought we were also watching. Big name surprise guest stars... favorite character is hurt... Oops - we are still on a previous season and didn't realize it a new one "dropped", so spoiler alert, lol. Now she's frustrated because she's got no one to tell all these thoughts until we catch up, lol.

We'll have some company today - in-law family. Coming "somewhere around 5". I asked HRH if I'm supposed to prepare supper for them. He looks at me cluelessly - what would make me wonder that? :| I just have to get used to his family and the casual "whatever" of the visits. As he reminds me, the time always turns out to be very flexible anyway. Okay.

R rose well said! I agree with input for LucyL' Been prayin' it's definitely a process.
 Re football ~
I got out the team cup and am celebrating on game day in that respect from my home!!!
Not worrying about giving anyone a cold or getting one or something even worse or sharing it with family / friends.

I am getting past the jealousy of how the neighbors have family come 1 - 2 times a week
to be with the 90 yo widow next door.
I pivoted and have a party for one! Watching what I want with out a blaring volume!

We have walked and I watered outside seeds I put down on the beds yesterday afternoon.
Glad for those new blooms to come next spring.

Hydration is happening. Had bfast.
Deciding if I need the jars for soup when I cook my weekly food cooking batch on my cooking day.

Good news will put in J & C.
