Tuesday Tidings PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Tidings, as in news

Good tidings that Harriet heard from bw2 yesterday! Yes! Hoping she'll be back with us soon!

And today is Lucylee's birthday! Happy birthday to Lucylee! Another year, bittersweet, perhaps, but they do march on. Much love and wishes for the coming year!

Morning girls…

Happy birthday Lucylee!! Ya know we’re all happy to have you here. And good to know about Blessed.

Up, showered and dressed early. Just like the olden days when I was working lol.

Getting ready to pack my car and head to GW. After that I have multiple stops on the way home.

It’s a zippy-do-da day for me!

Happy Birthday lucylee! Enjoy that German chocolate cake!
Hello to blessedw2 - if you pop in!
Thank you for explaining RTE LadyM. I almost giggled out loud - yes, an important category of food with teens in the house.
Happy errands, RRose!
Harriet, congratulations to dd26!! I'm glad to hear she is doing well. Yes, houses are expensive. Dd28 just bought one about a mile from our place. It is tiny and seemed expensive for the size, but she's happy to have her own house. She and dd26 live there together. I'm thrilled to have them close by; I can walk there in 20 minutes. Thanks for the update on Kathryn.
Twins, thanks for starting us off and letting us know about blessedw2. I always enjoyed hearing from her.

I have no appointments or meetings today other than hosting Tuesday dinner (used to be Thursday dinner), but that will be small - just 4 of us. Dh always makes the main. I do hope to make progress today on payroll, issues with Mom's bank and the trustee, exercise, and decluttering my clothes.

I'm up and dressed to jog -- but there's been thundering going on outside so I've been waiting. It's gray - no rain. Oh - now it's sprinkling a little. I think the thunder has subsided now, so I'll do my back exercises and get out there. It's supposed to be 80* by 10 a.m. (in 45 minutes), so I've already missed my under 80* jogging window. I'm not jogging far enough to put a serious strain on my body, but it's less pleasant to jog in the heat - and humidity today.

Next:
- back exercises
- jog
- s2s and self care

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email + weather website
- payroll: communications

Hi!

Just heard from the pharmacy and dh's med that he needs at 2 pm is there. They didn't have it yesterday, which concerned me a bit.

Dh isn't having an easy day. He ate a strawberry from the garden, even though he is restricted to clear fluids today. He "forgot", plus I know he's hungry. All he has had since I woke up is one strawberry and a drink of apple juice. He has a procedure at the hospital tomorrow morning at 8:30. I can hardly wait for this to be over. I vividly remember when I had this done, and it was horrid. The effects of the medication were undescribable (sp?) and I feel badly for what dh will have to go through tonight.

Post and run. My massage therapist had a cancellation for 10 a.m. this morning, so i am taking it. Will need to be out the door, but it's only five min away. I am also working out for the first time since this surgery, will be interesting to see what I can do. Wrist/hand continues to ache when used in heretofore unknown directions (at least heretofore unknown for four months.)

Yesterday turned out okay but I never got back here. Car fixed, made dental appt at 3:30, came home and straightened up for dh to have one of work partners over for wine and cheese since I wasn't cooking. His wife is out of town.

And....yesterday I received the first version of my article typeset for the publication. Sixteen pages! It looks amazing! I am to proof it yet again. Editor pointed out one potential correction/quandary, and on a quick read I identified a correction in a figure with a signature comparison (1839 marriage bond to 1857 affidavit.) So I will spend time today proofing again. This is one of my highest genealogical aspirations come true, I don't think I will ever come across a case study like this again.

Gotta run! So good to see helia here, and hoping Kathryn can put down some bread crumbs to get bw2 back to us.

Good morning!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCYLEE!
I thought LucyLee birthday was tomorrow? We used to celebrate the SHE triplet's birthday on the 28th so maybe I have it wrong. SHE birthday triplets = Harmony, Sherinjoy, LucyLee.

I woke up ready to get started on the day before sunrise. I did my morning mile walk and took the trash to the road in the dark. I was back inside the house when the sun rose, so I missed seeing that glorious sky painting occurrence.

DD13 is home sick again today. Her fever is 99.7 without any meds so at least we aren't battling high temps. She just feels blah, headache and sore throat. I will restock the kitchen counter with ready-to-eat bland foods and electrolyte drinks for her today. She ate and drank everything I put out for her yesterday. I called the school and requested her assignments for yesterday and today. I will pick them up at 2pm today so she can work on them tonight and not fall behind in her lessons.

DS16 is at work this morning. He enjoyed his hour drive trip last night with friends. I am not a fan of DS16 driving with other teenagers in the vehicle. i just pray a little extra and trust that it will all be okay.

It is voting day here for a couple local offices. The interest has been high in who will become our next Sheriff and the County commissioner.

Next up -
** Vote
** Store to get RTE foods and drinks for DD13

I'm up at a reasonable time.
Glad for the sleep I got ddoggo got me up one time in the nite it was stuffy in the house.

I am in a better frame of mind about dropping the additional cable channels, had decided to to this a while back.
Less negating new talking heads & no drama hype weather from different sources is a plus.
Like the weather app on my phone, yt etc. will also free up time for more creative adventures, reading if I want.
I could afford it but am opposed to an over $220 a mo. bill to that co. in principal.

Had one cup of black coffee.
Bs is in ack land no bfast at least for now.

Worst things first ~
Trash is at the curb
picked up to piles from ddoggo good fertilizer for plants.

Qt SJ DP happened.
Got dressed combed out my hair.
Shoes need to be put in before our walk at some point.

Add to groc. list when I think of the 2nd item.
School begins Wed. here this week.
Have a great one esp. the bday gals.

Thank you all! Actually, tomorrow is really my birthday — along with Harmony and Sher — you’re exactly right, LadyM. My family is celebrating tonight bc it’s the only night we’re all free. But thank you for starting me early. :)
And the best present is hearing that blessed will be back with us soon!
Tomorrow is another day.

Cathy, best wishes to dh and hopes for feeling lots better in a couple days.

Twins', you remind me of a Psalm, too much a favorite to resist,
The Lord giveth the word: The women that publish the tidings are a great host. Psalm 68:11

I've been out on the single errand of picking up an antibiotic "pack" for me. Cost was 85 cents, for which I have no explanation except ... .. medicare?... .. and which found me fumbling for change.

This is a double-edged sword of course, as antibiotics always are. But something had to give. So now I have a topical steroid at the same time as an antibiotic by mouth. I'm scheduled to see the dr on Tuesday a week from today. If he's not satisfied, I'll have an x-ray then.

helia, what a joy that your two dds live such a short distance away, and actually live together, as well. How ideal. I think we knew they were going to be roommates, but this seems to be continuing and working well for them.

With pharmacy sorted, the other two things on last evening's 3x5 for today are
trash day
small bathroom deep clean

Twins - I am busting with happiness for you in this accomplishment.
