I am celebrating with my extended family today. We are a diverse group, but family ties bring us together.

The fella that is supposed to replace the bathtub is a no-show so far today. He posted on FB this week that he has a A+ rating from Better Business Bureau. Hum.....

I'm not sure what we're celebrating around here today. The long weekend? Getting some housework done? It's supposed to be mainly sunny today, so I'm hoping to set aside a bit of time to work in the garden. First, though, I need to get some things done around the house:

- put away clean dishes
- clean out fridge
- eat breakfast/take meds
- put/throw away 10 things from the dining room table
- put/throw away 10 things from the desk

Hoping the reunion is great fun.

bittersweet, I need to do some "10 things" work, too.

Nancy, that's great - dd26 nags me that I must do this type of thing.

Celebrating... .. um... .. hopefully that our electricity is fully back by this afternoon late. Dstepson has already been on the phone with me making sure I have the closet cleared. Yes, all clothes are spread out as neatly and as "do-no-harm" as I can. HRH took the rod and the upper shelf down. Gee, I hope LadyM's waiting game isn't also what happens here, but previous experience has been that these guys surprise with earliness instead.

We've heard from dear friend S's wife that she is planning with him to have a few outings together and thinks our house would be a good one. We didn't even know for sure that the family felt he was up to having visitors himself yet, so this is great news. They will come to see us on Thursday. (So glad to have LR lights by then!)

Sitting now with a smoothie into which I miiiiight have put a bit too much greens... .. Telling myself, this tastes fine. It's fine.

I'm celebrating a beautiful day here at the lake. Didn't sleep well, we had several heavy rains that woke me through the night. In the apartment, one doesn't hear rain usually. Here, it can be lovely but it can also be disturbing especially since there is a tin roof outside our bedroom window!

I've done two 5 minute walks and am about to head out on a third. I've also finished all I want to, for now, on next year's bullet journal so have put that aside (and out of sight to avoid distraction). I have also gone through the list of people asking to join the Residents' FB group and allowed a few through, sent messenger messages to a few who may be legit, and removed the remainder from the list. They may be legit but they didn't follow the rule of emailing us with their name, apartment number and FB name. Some find it an invasion of privacy but we find it is necessary to keep people behaving well. They know we know where they live!

Hmmmm....it's quiet in the village this morning! Well...except for the magpies yelling at each other in the tree over there. We have magpies here, and when they get yelling, it can get seriously noisy! Same with the blue jays, although we don't hear them as often.

I need to find some motivation here. 75% of me just wants to sit, crochet, and listen to my audiobook. If you happen to like courtroom drama stories, try Phillip Margolin's books. I'm loving them! I'll have to go with the other 25% and see what I can get done.

- clean off the outside of the fridge
- morning dailies
- vacuum living room, dining room, and hallway (darn that Super Storm the Wonder Dog and her shedding hair! )
- order groceries online
- round up the recycling

Of course, by the time I finished writing the post, a bunch of people had checked in to say good morning!

Enjoy your walks, Kathryn. I love the sound of rain on the roof, but heavy rain on a tin roof right outside he window would be a bit much.

I went to the silent auction to find out if my bids were successful. I came home with one item.

The pie auction last night raised $5800 for the school library. Many of the pies were sold for hundreds. When a few people complained about how high the bidding goes for each pie, it was explained - "You are not buying a pie. You are donating money to the library and get a pie as a thank you gift."

I have food packed & ready to take to the family reunion. I am just waiting for time to leave.

Bathtub fella is still a no-show. Next week I will start the process of hiring someone else.

Hi!

We had rain during the night. The patio was drying off when only 1 cat decided to streak past me to go outside. The older 2 sat and looked at me, so I closed the door. I went back to bed. I was woken up a while later to the sound of quite a storm. The fan wasn't going. I opened the back door and the small cat streaked back into the house, meowing very loudly at me as she ran down the hall. "MOM! IT WAS SO WET OUT THERE!! WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG TO OPEN THE DOOR!!" MEOW! MEOW! MEOOOOOOW!!!

I went back to bed again and woke up at 9:40 and there was a stitching group starting at 10. Power still wasn't back on at our house and dh had to go to Tim Hortons for his coffee this morning.

Now I am home from stitching, the power is back on and all the cats are sleeping.

We will be having a cottage roll for supper.

Harriet "Reflections From a Mother's Heart" is a good one. One does not have to fill in all the pages, if a prompt does not fit you can put your own inof a diff. topic. Like if a person never had swimming lessons like my mom never learned to swim she could have put I did learn to ____________ how ever.

I dug through my planner dresser and got an out dated one to put together un-dating it is under way and I"ll use it for note other writing,
brain dump notes ideas plans etc. The pages are good quality and I could not find what I wanted in stock the guided journals are sold out.
This just fits the purpose. Also found some lined pages for one I"m nearly done using for other writings. I did this at my stand up desk that was nice.

On a show on PBS last nite they had the things that help your brain and to fight depression, like walking, breath work, and a couple others and I was already doing them, movement getting up once an hour, or every 5 min. like in a class room, walk and talk meetings. Quite a few things in the book I read I had already implemented as habits like being a morning person, it was very affirming to read those as well.

It's quiet here no t/v on & my lunch meat pie small one is in the oven now.
Neighbor just finished mowing so it is even more quiet.

Wa- hoot! Got that un-dating done and looked up prompts on a yt flip through for the q's to write in glad to have it set up! Happy now.
Ddoggo want out with me while I cleaned & filled bird bath, waterer and mini trough, and other waterer for them.
