I am in hour 3 of my day and haven't stepped foot in my garden yet. I need to take the time to do that. BBL

You must have gotten up early today, LadyM! What is growing in your garden these days?

I'm up late today - because I can be. Thursday is the most low-key day of my week. I have class at 4:30 pm and need to prep for it still. I also need to go to the grocery store, and getting in a jog would be great too. We still have beautiful summer weather here, sunny and a high of 86* forecast - but it is cool right now.

Was up by 4 ish before the guy up the street with the diesel engine left.
Got going on watering I"d been not as good with this last week.
Walk happened after qt & journals & past six today. Doing walks early as it's hot again here.
Most of the back watering is done.
had a bite to eat.

HRH just said, "The traffic in this kitchen is terrible. No turn signals, stop and start." Which means, leave me alone and let me cook. Quite happy with that. I will Take the Time and allow him to be our chef this morning.

Next up - Watching the weather but I think it will be good all morning, actually. Going to clean and declutter the car (not wash exterior - I'm not that ambitious). Ds and ddil need to borrow it this evening, and I'd like it to be nice. HRH has already gotten a full tank of gas.

Ds has sold his really big pick-up, which was used to pull their 5th wheel RV for so many years. So, they are in an interim moment right now with just ddil's Jeep and his fire dept SUV, which he would rather not use for personal things. Both children have games this evening, with an announcement yesterday that dgd's has been relocated to a distant field for some reason. So, they are scrambling. That's what Moms are for.

Enjoyed prayer meeting last evening. Very insightful discussions, lots of joys although some sadness.

What is growing in your garden these days?

Tomatoes, peppers, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, strawberries, okra, radishes, asparagus, mint, thyme, aloe, and basil.
Flowers - begonias, Zinnas, sunflowers, mums, marigold, lantana
As our high temp heat breaks, I will start planting for winter garden - Swiss chard, broccoli, carrots, beets, brussel sprouts, onions, garlic, cauliflower, mustard greens, cabbage.
Being in the garden is my happy place. A bonus is that it provides a nearly year-round bounty of organic food.

I had a bowl of my favorite soup with a dollop of Greek yogurt for my first meal.

Yesterday was my DSis birthday. I am taking her out to eat lunch today. I looked at the restaurant menu and have a plan for what I will eat.

The fence fella is coming today to put a wheel on the other big gate. We learned the big wide heavy metal gates need support when not in a closed position. The contractor experimented with welding a rolling wheel onto the garden gate and we tried it for a couple of months. It operates like a dream. Now that it is a proven fix, he is coming back to weld a wheel to another big heavy metal gate near the shop.

Good afternoon (by the time I finish typing this, anyhow)!

I will be taking the time today to get my teeth cleaned. I had DD in for fillings yesterday, and while I was waiting for her, I went to make appointments for cleanings for me & DC -- we're both overdue. They said they'd had a cancellation, so they had an opening today at 2:30 -- they were so tickled when I took it. DC, however, will have to wait till early next month, when we were able to find an opening that fit with their class schedule.

LadyM, I can scarcely imagine the size of your garden. As a placeholder in my brain, I am using the garden of one of DH's colleagues who grows as much of his family's food as he can.

Made a DPC for what it was worth. My car has a leak. My mechanic thinks it is the transmission, and he doesn't do transmissions, so he recommended somebody. I've been putting off the call since last week, which was clearly a mistake, as their next opening is for Sept. 30! Well, I took it; I certainly don't want to wait even longer. Fortunately, it is a small leak.

Checked the work computer -- nothing. So, since it is now shortly after noon, I will make some lunch, just as soon as I figure out what that will be.

Soup is on the stove it was clean out the fridge to make soup day.
I have the crock pot going with spaghetti squash de-seeded and cut up cooking on the deck as well.
So I'll have that to do up for some meals ahead.
My innadrs are better but not ready to try taco soup yet.

My new journal was not in the mail so must be coming on one of the trucks ups or the other one later on.

I grow everything in raised beds so there is minimum effort with maximum results. The garden has 12 raised beds and 8 earth boxes.

Lunch with DSis lasted almost 2 hours! We talked nonstop while catching up with each other and our families' doings. DSis has 3 kids and 4 grandkids. #TreasuredMoments
