Had bfast.
Meal coupon did not come but I do have a plan for lunch now too meat loaf stuffed squash with some cheese to reheat.
Cannot find glue used it up one rocks I think but got steps in looking upstairs and down for it.

Listened to a depressing class C.E.
No meal coupon yet.
Then went to the sewing zone .
Made a lined zippered pouch bag think the size of pencil pouch with a loop for on the leash or book bag
or where ever. In a better mood now. Learned quite a bit but was happy that I can still put in a zipper with out directions! LOL!

I scattered some seeds from yellow sunflowers or Daisy like "fake" sunflowers, then watered those beds.

Good Morning!

Nancy - Thank you for the start.

I am in the 7th hour of my day and am feeling happy with what I have accomplished.

I just got back from delivering DS16 steel toed boots to his work site. He was using a torch to cut metal that caused a sliver of metal to break off and land on his foot. DS16 learned that hot metal goes through tennis shoe and socks as quickly as a hot knife goes through butter. I strongly suspect he won't make the same mistake again.

Made a few more stops -
** Ace to pick up the repaired weedeater. Long story is too complicated to tell. Short story is they told DH to not take the weedeater apart......again.
** Garage sale - found a heavy shovel for $5. They don't make shovels like they used to. Also brought home some metal art for the garden. Can you ever have too much art in your life?
** Friday BBQ place. 5 meals came home with us so I won't be cooking today. I tried a Bacon wrapped Honey Bun cooked on the smoker. I think it will be a popular item, but I am not interested in sweet things. One bite satisfied my curiosity.

I have an initial appointment with a new periodontist this afternoon. My dread is high, and my excitement is low. I just want to GET IT OVER WITH.

What a quiet day here in the village! Here at the beach it is raining. No beach today, and we'll leave for home in the morning. Back to real life, huh?

I've been into and out of some genealogy rabbit holes.

Twins - you have been missed!

I am pleased with the new periodontist and am glad I went through the time, expense, and painful effort to switch. In the last 3 months I have been evaluated and discussed what needs to be done with 2 periodontists and our family dentist. This new periodontist is the only one that brought up the potential problem with having these procedures done while taking Prolia (bone density shot). He recommends not having dental work done until there has been 6 months since the last Prolia shot. I came home and did a little research and found documentation confirming that recommendation. My last Prolia shot was March 8th so I can proceed with this surgery. I am scheduled to get another Prolia shot next Friday so I will be delaying that treatment until I get this periodontal work done. I need osseous surgery on all 4 quadrants which the first periodontist wanted to do in 4 separate surgeries (1 quadrant of my mouth at a time). This new periodontist gave me the option of having 4, 2, or 1 surgery. I chose one long surgery to do osseous surgery on all 4 quadrants at once plus a jaw tooth extraction. I have had this osseous surgery before and know the recovery and how miserable I will be. I would rather be super miserable once and get it over with. The office manager will call me next week to schedule a time for the surgery and discuss cost & details. I just want all the periodontal surgeries over with, so I can recover and get on with my life. Going forward I will need to have deep teeth cleaning every 3 months instead of every 6 months. I am not thrilled about that but it isn't a big deal to add 2 more trips & 2 hours a year in the dental chair. I am okay with that.

(((Hugs to all)))
I have a sore today got a wort out hoping it is the last time but note so bad I need OTC anything.

Took time to watch a show put my foot up and rip some seams on a practice bag project I did a while bak.
After doing one this morning I am confident I can use at least part of it for the next one as I continue
to tweak and improve on them as I go. Seems it takes three of what ever to get it learned! LOL!

LadyM, hugs on the bone density and dental work conflicting. Glad you're getting both considered.

We had dinner of mostly leftovers from the fridge cooked up plus pork chops seared and finished in the oven. Quiet evening, dhs are doing dinner clean up.

This week is back to whatever is normal - I made appointment for PT/OT this Wednesday so getting that started this next week.

I miss my friends here!

Boy, it IS a slow day here, isn't it?
I know I've been AWOL the last couple days, and sadly, I haven't been anywhere fun, like Twins. I don't know what's been my problem. Just alternating busy and tired, I guess. :?

I'm glad you like the new periodontist, LadyM. I hate for you to have to face any of this, but I think I'd be the same -- get it all over at once and be done with it. (((HUGS)))
Short story is they told DH to not take the weedeater apart......again.
This made me LOL!
OTOH -- (((LadyM's DS))) the metal sliver did NOT make me laugh. I bet that HURT.
I need to give myself hourly challenges, I guess. I've done nothing today.

Nancy, sounds like you've had a very productive day, but I'm sorry the class was depressing!

Where have I been the last 48 hours?
Wednesday, of course, was (is) always hectic to some extent, because I have the GriefShare meeting in the morning, which makes me get home around 1:00 pm. Then Wednesday night is church, and guess what -- I am the new teacher for our Bible Study. Don't quite know how I got myself into this situation. Our pastor has been our teacher, and by the end of the spring session, we were down to about 4 ladies. There are another couple ladies who were usually there but had various problems in the spring. We may gain some more as we start a new session, but honestly, as far as I'm concerned, the smaller our group, the better. The pastor has had to fill in as youth group leader for Wednesdays since that person resigned. I told her I had much rather teach our small group than be responsible for the youth, so certainly, I would fill in with the adults till we find someone for the youth position.
In between the two group meetings Wednesday, I had to go to Wmart and get some groceries, and get a fruit tray for a funeral Thursday.
I put that together -- in a nice chip/dip bowl, rather than the Wmart package -- and carried it to church Wed. night.

Thursday, I went to the divorce court hearing to support dcousin. I was glad I went, because it wasn't like our whole family of 30+ showed up. Her brother and sil, her aunt and uncle, and a good friend of hers were all the family she had with her, plus me. The philandering ex was seated alone with his lawyer and the lawyer's secretary.
It was a whole lot of hurry up and wait. As it turned out, they kept calling the lawyers and Dcousin and her ex back to the judge's chambers, I assume, to try to reach an agreement. This must have been a problem for the ex, because Dcousin kept coming back and saying she was fine with what they proposed... then he'd go back and after a while, they'd call for her again. We got up there at 9:00 and it was almost 11:00 when we left. I'm glad we were there, because if not, Dcousin would have been sitting there all alone during all that wait time while her ex was with the lawyers. That would have been sooo nerve-wracking.
At any rate, she said she was fine with the settlement, which is temporary -- I think just to get him caught up with financial responsibilities he's been shirking, and get her through till the divorce is final. We did not see him afterwards but I think he did the "education" we had been hoping for.

I went from there to the church, where I was part of the Sunday School meal committee, stayed for the funeral and meal/cleanup. I got home about 4:00 pm and I was TIRED. I took a LONG nap and ate supper around 8:00 last night -- a bowl of chicken noodle soup.

Today I have TOTALLY been a sloth.
Dmom called to see if I cared if she went ahead and kept a lunch date with DS and DDIL, even though we had made tentative plans to go see the movie, Reagan. Since I was still in bed, I told her that was perfectly all right with me -- we can see it next week.

I continued in my laziness, except for doing my Bible reading, and then DDIL texted me to pass on a request from a friend to use our College Town condo. She had told this person she'd have to ask me and dbil.
Well. Dbil and I were in complete agreement -- no. NO. As dbil said, we are not opening up a bed and breakfast. He and his fiance will be down there at least part of the weekend EVERY weekend when the games are at home, and we just are not going to start this.
So DDIL relayed that message, a bit "softer," telling the friend that family would be using the condo so it was not available.

This is NOT a CLOSE friend, y'all -- I mean, none of us socialize with them beyond church activities, and these people just got home from a week or more in Europe! Dbil said, "I think if you can afford a week in Europe, you can afford a $400 hotel." I told him we should divide what we spend per home game over the cost for a year. I bet it's a lot more than $400. Sigh. We didn't want to look like *&)^*& you know, but dbil is right -- if we start letting one family use it, then it will be open season for everyone we know!

I am now listening to the high school game, and I am child-free this weekend. DS and family will be going tomorrow, and they are leaving around 8:00 a.m. I don't know if anyone will spend the night with me tomorrow when they get home or not. They'll probably be home by 10:00.
My stomach has been upset the last couple days and I'm using that excuse for my lack of energy or motivation.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hello, everyone. I spent a good bit of the morning on a dreaded phone call to try to understand why I'm due only a partial disbursement on a large lawsuit settlement against our county's fees. I am not "satisfied" but I am satisfied that I can't do anything else about it at this point, and willing to let it go.

I did a good bit of watering outside today. Wore my galoshes with pant legs tucked in against all manner of varmints and creepy crawlies.

Did some sewing, although not actual stitching, just getting things ready and cut.

Nancy, you actually got some stitching in. Good for you. No wonder your mood improved.

Smoothie this a.m., then mac and cheese with lots and lots of broccoli. Speaking of broccoli, new seeds started sprouting as of this morning.

((LadyM's ds)) ouch, ouch!

lucylee
, that seems like you really did a lot for your cousin - I don't think I've ever been in that supportive situation for someone but maybe I should have and sort of "missed the memo" that it would have been appreciated.

Harriet, I would never have gone, except my cousin/divorcee’s aunt and I were talking at dgs’ ballgame, and I said, “ooohhh, I would love to be a fly on the wall…” and she said, “well, come on! Mama and me are going and probably (others she named). We think it will look better for the judge to see that she has a lot of support.” Then she mentioned it again before the game was over, so I thought it would really be okay — not just nosey of me. We talked again the next day about something else and she repeated that it would be fine for me to come, “bring your mom if she wants to come, the more the merrier.”
I was nosey, I admit, because this idiot had made the statement that he wasn’t going to give her any money. They have 3 children!!! I really wanted to see his face when he learned a little about how the world works.

I would never go without asking in a situation like that, but I was really glad we were all there. I kept thinking if I had been in my cousin’s situation and had to sit there alone while I waited for all those private discussions… I would have thrown up. :)
Tomorrow is another day.
