Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Although, this is another day in which I'm on the run. Body work at 10, PT at 2. In between, have several anti procrastination tasks in mind if I can get there. I overslept, not sure what happened to alarm this a.m.
I'm heading to shower, after that a quick breakfast and out the door.

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Appreciate your being here and opening PWYC this morning, Twins'.
Storm concerns of all kinds are on my mind. ((Ramblin'))
TaDas from yesterday were getting Tuesday chores done, from mopping in mud room through to getting trash out, kitty-potty duty, etc.
Also, some Desk Day through to making the mail, although certainly don't feel completely "caught up".
Although I have done morning routine well this morning, I'm torn about the rest of the morning. Slept poorly, probably need more rest. HRH wanted to go out to eat (lunch, about 11 I'd assume) but he slept in, so at this point I'm thinking we are on different wavelengths now. (Not his fault any more than my sleeplessness.) Hmmm... .. Need to S2S but wouldn't this a.m. because I kept waffling between being ready to encourage lunch out OR putting my head back down onto a pillow.
It's very difficult to try to stay quiet and let him sleep when my own sleep is hopeless sometimes. What I need to be doing with my awake-time is probably noisy, and so there is some waste. When he is up and can't sleep, my own ears perk up as if I still had a baby in the house.
He helpfully did some work in the kitchen yesterday in the early morning hours - I heard every slight noise and started kind of tracking what he must be doing, and that was the end of my sleep then.
The week is dominated by friend Steve's attempt (about the 4th attempt) to have an outing to our house with his wife tomorrow. We need to be prepared for them - not sure whether he will come with just a cane or something more like a walker, and also, she's never even been here. I feel very inadequate because there's so much we really don't know about what his needs are now, what diet allows.
Starting to realize that I'm complaining. bbl with attitude adjustment I hope, and get some of those Bonus Points.

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Current focus is on warming the cottage so I can concentrate on working.
The fire is now going well, time to add some of the hardwood to it to boost the heat output. About 10 minutes before going in to take a sponge bath, I turned on the electric heater in the bathroom and closed the door in order to take the chill off there. I've turned it off now. I've also closed the spare bedroom door as there is no point letting any of the fire warmed air go in there. Must prop my bedroom door open more fully.
It is a grey and cold day here so there will be no solar gain to help. The forecast high will be around 45 so I'm wearing long underwear, an undershirt, turtleneck and good wool sweater that covers my butt (my dad's so it mentally feels like a hug as well.) I'm sipping hot water. The furnace won't let this place drop below 60 but that's not warm enough to concentrate. I could raise it but I prefer to try the wood heat. Up until 5 years ago, this place didn't have a furnace.
BTW: there's no doubt I'm sharing the cottage with squirrels who have moved into the attic. I can do no more than yell at them and bang on the wall or ceiling when I hear them. It makes them go silent immediately.
Thinking of Harmony, Dee's family, and, of course, Rosie. Along with Joy who is safe in Canada but has her mobile home (and her friends) in Bradenton to worry about.

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Life on the run can be interesting…
We had a good day yesterday at the hotel. Enjoyed our room, had a great breakfast, my son did Uber eats for lunch and the ate dinner with my sons family.
Great day… what could go wrong.
Settled in for the night .. in our pjs and the. The alarms go off. First I thought it was from our phones because we keep getting hurricane alerts … then I realized it was the fire alarm and we are on the 6th floor. I grab my shoes, purse and phone, but Sweetie is I a tizzy and can’t figure out what to do. I say put your shoes on and let’s go.
Fumbles trying to get the shoes on. Then kicks them off runs, strips off his pjs and try’s to get his pants on. Then back to his shoes. Couldn’t get him to hurry up and just added to his frustration. Finally we’re about to go out the door and he says I need my jacket.
I already had his sweatshirt in my hands… out the door we go. I back track cause my sons room is in the other direction and he’s got the kids… however there are three adults in his room including his fil who happens to be an former marine and a doctor.
Hallway is filled with smoke and I pound on the door.. no answer so I figure they are already gone. Can’t get Sweetie in second gear to get to the exit and stairway … he’s confused
Finally get to the stairs and it’s a nightmare. People dragging their suit cases, women on walkers, dogs fighting each other cause their owners have no control over them. Start to make our way down and Sweetie wants to help a women and her husband cause she’s using a Walker, but I can see the husband has everything under control.
I pull Sweetie with me and as we go down the first flight of stairs I can see my son and his family behind me. Ok we’re close together. The woman in front of me is very unstable and starts to fall. She carrying all sorts of crap, phone, water bottle, a bag and other stuff. I see her stumble and I grab and catch her. She’s obviously very disoriented. She daughter is several people in front of us and half way down the stairs. She looks up and yells… mom your sweater is wrapped around your feet.
I had already spied that and had pulled it up. Down we go. Visions of 9/11 and people trying to get out of the building. We get backed up on the 4 th floor and come to a standstill. Finally we make our way out but find ourselves in the enclosed outdoor pool area, not out of the building.
My son pushes ahead and finds the door into the building… out the lobby we go into the covered garage. People streaming out the doors with dogs that are dog reactive s, kids crying, and the blaring of the fire alarm so loud we are all covering our ears. Dogs continue to bark at each other. One fellow has a huge German Shepard without a lease. The dog stays by his side and sits as soon as the fellow stops. It was a wonder of calm in a sea of chaos
Fire truck comes zooming in and the firemen jump into action. Into the building and up the stairs s they go to the 6th floor where we were. Amazing to watch their actions first hand. Finally the alarm goes off and people start going back into the building.
I stop when I see all the firemen and shake each hand and thank them for what they did. They look sulfides at me and said no one ever does that. I think these guys are heroes and tell them how much I appreciate their courage and service. One huge fireman …every bit of 6’6” hunk of a man looks like he’s about to cry over my words. I think of Harriet’s son.
The smoke and fire were caused by burnt popcorn in someone’s microwave. It was the first thing I thought of because I recognized the smell. That’s because it’s happened many times by teachers. Other people were saying the same thing as we went down the stairs
We get back to our rooms and I have to turn the a/c cause our room smelled like smoke. Sweetie was still confused but I finally got him back in his pjs and into bed.
Now if that wasn’t exciting enough during the middle of the night, Sweetie wakes up and starts screaming and tearing the bed apart fasting there were spiders in the bed!!! That will get you moving. Turns out it was a horrific dream he was having.
I’m gonna need a vacation after this vacation

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Here’s the weird part…
Yesterday morning I was standing in the hallway and had a premonition about a fire drill and walked to the end of the hallway counting door to the stairs from our room. I’ve had them before bits it’s been a while and did t even think about it till we got back to our room. That upset me more than the actual fire alarm cause I hate when I get them.

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
The notes are written up from yesterday's seminar on Everyday Language (a program dgs3 is enrolled in to help him with his language although I found the focus was more on behaviour and useful or dealing with or at least understanding my sister and her difficulty in speaking.
Now to add more wood to the fire, I was typing a long time and logs I put on before I started have burned down to embers (but strong enough I think I can just add more logs.) I've got the living room up to 67 now from 61 so progress!

Re: Anti-Procrastination Wednesday PWYC
I woke up later than normal it was lite out.
I put off decluttering the tall desk unloads some on it to my desk yesterday.
Today started in on that pile 1st ... 2 hrs. later bfast ...
Still no qt a new project underway and some journaling.
Listed my joys in diff. planner.
OMM Sewing project notebook ~ transition from my writing one.
Having a writing day here.
Had blueberry flavored coffee with half & hal & whipped cream b/c
yesterday I didn't make it to the coffee shop.
Frozen sandwich is thawing for one meal today.
Mopping could happen don't faint ladies! LOL!
Might not time will tell.
It's calm and peaceful and I'm happy 99% except for having to take back red fabric that is not colorfast. sigh ~
They did have one other that I liked with out much red in it so I'll get some of that.
I"m tweaking my aff. for the note book.
Okay I need to get dressed it's past nine.
