Studious Saturday

Post by Harriet »

Homemakers are often in study. We surely rely on the "smarts" we've gained over years ;)
but we are always learning! It benefits us, and benefits our households and beyond.

Are you making a study of something fun or fascinating lately? What is piquing your interest?
What are you learning about in order to avoid pitfalls :? or be prepared for the unexpected?
Have you been able to impart some new knowledge recently to help someone else?

Morning girls….

Blessed… glad I could make you giggle!

Twins… we don’t leave until this Tue and will come home the following Monday. I have time between now and when we leave so am packing a little as I go because I can, and because I hate the last minute rush. That way I can pack my non-essentials, like money for the road tolls.

I am being lazy and drinking my coffee in bed before I start my day. Need to do a load of laundry, it first off to take a shower. Weather in NJ looks very wet! Course they have been experiencing a drought since Sept. if you need rain in your area, just ask me to visit.. I seem to have the magic to make it rain!

I have been studiously drawing some fun illustration accents on my planner pages to make it more festive today.
It is very wet here and we have had rain for a number of hours should stop before the state championship fb game
for the small town near by playing in our town this afternoon coach lives next door they are undefeated so far.

Some more leaves are down I have been studying the tree to see if 50% or less are down yet.
I will use push broom later to more em off the cement like I did yesterday.

There is a very small craft fair near me and a big one down town.
The one near did not have lunch last time I went I was disappointed so will prob. skip that.

Finished the green ombre dish cloth & have one more of the same yarn started to work on later.
Some one should work a bit on the kitchen maybe this afternoon. Sigh.

I am doing small pregress on holiday decor got the greenery in the vases last evening.
Enjoying it more doing it slowly.

Waving to all.

Bw2 I would consider getting some one else to drive h. or rescheduling that Wed. apt. if it were me.
Sorry for the worries that must be creating.

Quiet morning both here and online. Dh is at Torah study and then will get COVID and flu vaccinations. I've tried to lower the boom on him - he doesn't have spleen which affects his immunity. I recall he had several vaccinations in the doc's office in the first consult when he set up the pancreatic surgery.

Just heard back from possible therapist - could see her as soon as 3 Dec but we will still be away then. So hopefully can get in and see if we "suit". Even tho dd's situation is somewhat resolved I suspect she'll be leaning on me.

And dog sitting is resolved. Dd's friend who is married often dog sits with her dh, and she took awhile to get back to me, then this has been a crazy week, and next door gal couldn't do it all the days we're away. But another neighbor, college freshman, can do it. He is absolutely reliable and has done it before for short periods.

Just talked to dfriend V for awhile, we'll go out to eat tonight with the dhs.

Heading upstairs.

d Nancy - I wish I could get someone else to take dh. dd younger is down for the count with her back - it's been really bad. dd older works that day. So I am on call for dh and d mom.
I have a feeling I might have to make it a go with the flow type of day! I definitely will get coffee for myself that day.

~~~Waving Hello to all ~~~~
I am a bit surprised that it is almost noon. The morning time has passed quickly.
DD13 is feeling better and back to herself. She has been on the phone with a friend for hours. They are noisy but in a good way.
DS16 is prepping for a date with a new-to-him girl. I am not thrilled about this because I don't think he is giving himself enough time to grieve the end of his 6 month relationship with previous girlfriend. ANYWAY, the date tonight will include the Mother of the girl. Her parents have meet DS16 one time but they are not willing to give him access to their daughter yet. They live in a small community 39 miles away so don't have any knowledge of DS16 reputation or family. They are cautiously proceeding with DS16 and the girl getting to know each other. DS16 has been invited to attend church with them tomorrow.
DH was awake at 3am becuase he went to bed when the sun went down last night. He is doing better today but I am keeping things calm around him.....well....as calm as a house with 2 teenagers can be.
Dstepson has been over again, still trying to iron out any problems with the well house and making sure there's a heat source when the temp dips. He also took the time to disconnect my hoses and cover the spigots with Styrofoam covers again.
Dd44 came by on her way to have lunch with dd25 and run errands. I sent her on her way with a tee-shirt of dd26's I found and washed. It has a very odd saying on the front, and I think it is from some tourist trap somewhere. I told dd44 to suggest she give it to one of the boys if she doesn't have a need for it.
Not much sleep last night so I will need a nap. This is the second day of that.
I'm studying nutrition/medical lately.
