Afternoon, Saturday

Post by Harriet »

We are up again after what seems, so far, to be a successful update and install of the most recent version of phpbb, supported by the most recent version of php. This accomplished by four humans (the in-Canadas, HRH and myself) and a helpful, though artificial, Cliff Clavin. I was the least help of the 5, I assure you.

blessed
has already posted minutes ago in yesterday's PWYC, so it's working for her.

Hopefully, others will be able to get here as well. We're going to let this settle for a while and see if everyone's browser and everyone's location allows them to hop back in.

Very sorry this came as a surprise. As usual, time consuming, inevitable issues. We were down approximately 20 hours.

bought some christmas presents on line
listened to the end of A Dog named Christmas! sweet story.
I need to buy a few more presents online - waiting for sizes from dd older.

turns out no one really wants to go to mom's to give her the meds - so I am going now. so glad I went early - gave her diner - she smiled and asked if I wanted to go to Florida - that's a great compliment. Very sweet.
Her house is spotless again. wow.

listening to Benjamin McEvoy's list of books for reading for 2025 hardcore literature book club. I doubt I could keep up with it but it is fun to hear what the club is reading this year. I find his passion about books and authors inspiring. dd recommended Jack Edwards on Youtube. I will watch that later.

I need to make the dough but may wait until early morning.

Happy evening to all of you!

Hello, blessed. I am glad you had no issues getting here. Looks a little different, but seems to be fine.

I also bought another online present today. Was grateful to find that another seller had listed an item that I wasn't going to be able to get in time. Now, that's solved. Also I bought some gift tissue that will help me. I'm thinking this year will be back to mostly gift bags again.

Oh, one more thing. I think I found the 2025 planner I will want. So hard to be sure when you have to search online with just a few pictures. If this one isn't right, it was very inexpensive so I can give it away and I'll know well in advance of the new year. The specific one I've been used to for years isn't available anymore. If this replacement doesn't work, I'll kinda reinvent the wheel, I guess.

Checking in! All is well! Thank you so much, Harriet, HRH, and the In-Canadas! And Mr. AI Cliff, LOL!
I have kinda hit the wall, but now that I’m actually IN bed, I don’t feel so sleepy.
I was falling asleep earlier, watching our ballgame. We lost. Sigh. Not a big surprise.

I think I have a mental block where Harriet and LadyM’s school affiliations are. I can never remember which state school y’all side with!
Was your family happy when OK beat Alabama last week, LadyM? We certainly were.
And Harriet, does it make any difference to y’all that Mack Brown has been fired at NC? I wish I could talk to dh about that.

It has been a full two weeks for me. Tonight is the 9th night in a row that one of the dgrands has spent the night. I love them more than anything, and I know their parents worry that the holidays will be too depressing for me… but gosh… I am worn out. But I know as the song says, it won’t be like this for long. They are going to have more social lives and busier schedules and Nana may not be their favorite person always. So I never want to turn them down if they want to spend time with me. But I do need some down time.
OTOH — all my Christmas stuff is out and this would not have happened without them!

Church in the morning…
Dgrands…
Dgd skating party at 4:00 pm..
Then I’ll have approximately 18 hours alone ;)
Dmom to lung doctor at 1:30 Monday.
Tomorrow is another day.

The board looks the same on my phone.

Meant to say, we have always had chicken dressing— basically cornbread, celery, onions, boiled eggs, and chicken all mixed together. Ddil had always eaten stovetop stuffing (not cooked inside the turkey) before she moved down here. I think she likes dressing now; her mom and dad do.
But my goodness, that Cajun turkey with creole stuffing sounds amazing, LadyM.
Tomorrow is another day.
